TITANFALL 2 Reviews Thread

Feel free! You can join multiple networks in this game ;)
I'm trying, doesn't seem to want to do anything after i hit 'create' . does the tag have to be 3 letters? can it be 2?

Also, try the different stick sensitivity options. I think I'm using an adjusted 'Instant' on the right. I messed around with the right trigger range, too.

noooooooo. that can really screw your aim up. i'm sticking with the same aim i have for titanfall 1 which i believe is now the default option in titanfall 2.

i do use the trigger stop on the right.

Jeff went into much more detail on the podcast yesterday, including details such as the battery system which he loves quite a bit.

I watched parts of it live but IIRC he only mentioned that some things were tweaked during the Tech Test based on feedback. If he went further into detail on level design, etc. then why didn't he include it in, you know, the review?

The first one had some kind of survival mode right? I didn't play it. Is that in Titanfall 2?

It's called Frontier Defense and no Titanfall 2 isn't shipping with that game mode. Frontier Defense was a lot of fun depending on the map, even if it became very predictable due to static Titan spawns.

I'm loving this so much. the weapons just feel so damn good. like every single one. currently rocking the car w/ sprint shooting, stim, the mgl (really satisfying grenade launcher) and firestar. titan is scorch, so good :D

I would stream it but 1) i get performance anxiety 2) you will see my (sometimes) spaghetti aiming 3) i don't want to get nuclear ejected by respawn/ea

edit: also apparently I already have 54% of the trophies available. huh.

Yeah, I'm sad a PVE mode isn't in at launch but I'm hoping they add one soon. Had a great time with it in Titanfall.

.

1. man up
2. it's ok
3. i doubt they'll do that since the game is out in the wild and respawn has already played a match with other people.

Respawn: why do i keep getting "MOTD failed the vulgarity test" when i'm trying to create a veteran network? I"m calling it Titanfall 1 Veterans. What gives?

Tell me more about Scorch. Any glaring weaknesses?

How's the Scuf controller for the PS4? I'll be transitioning to the Pro pretty much exclusively, and I'm intrigued by the Scuf.

I have an Elite for the One, and I really liked it, even though I underutilized the paddles, until the left bumper broke after a year or so.

How's the Scuf's build quality, functionality, etc ?

Thanks!

I like mine a lot. I have the barebones version for PS4 with 2 paddles. The only advantage it provides is that you can jump, ads, and shoot, or slide, ads, and shoot, all at the same time. In games with a lot of jumping and sliding it makes a big difference. BO3 is a lot more fun with the SCUF.

You could use bumper jumper to achieve a similar effect, but I find it's easier to use the scuf, especially when trying to jump, ads, and shoot, all simultaneously. With bumper jumper it's harder to get the ads part of the equation in there.

Build quality seems fine. They just take a stock controller and add paddles to it. I have had it bug out a few times where the right stick would register movement without me touching anything, but that was fixed both times with a paperclip controller reset.

You should really look at battle beaver customs. I have used scufs, the xbox elites, etc. Battle Beaver comes out on top for sure and their customer service is amazing. Better Price/Quality than both too.

I ordered one and received a month ago and it is incredible.

Dome sticks (high quality dome sticks), increased tension on the right stick (to match the 360 tension), smart triggers, 2 buttons (paddles) and it looks like a regular ps4 controller. All of that and a hard carrying case for $136 total

we'll see :P if they post an okay somewhere i will.

slow. really slow. dash seems to take forever to recharge and you have to reload after every shot. but the gas + ignite combo is just so good <3 and the flame shield is so fun, go right up to enemy titans and just hold it up and watch the damage tick.

edit: just unlocked ronin but I didn't really like him in the campaign... not my style :P

Really excited about this after watching the EZA review and the 5/5 from GB. Between the slow, more strategic pace of BF1 and the fast, intense pace of this one I have my FPS needs covered for the next months. Amazing job from EA by delivering such awesome FPS this year

Wasn't that the least played game mode in the first game?

What? no. not even close. it's also one of only 3 modes that consistently have 100+ people still playing everyday ( i don't count campaign or frontier defense)

Attrition
CTF/LTS

Those are the modes still alive.

Okay, it looks like there's a PS4 TitanGAF network now, courtesy of RedFury!

For anyone worried about getting into the TitanGAF network on any platform, the OT (coming soon!) will have the signup spreadsheet and links to all three networks.

On the site now, is the one for Xbox just NEOGAF (with a little over 1,000 members)?

Also, what's with the network called "Harambe" with 48,761 members?

NeoGAF is an open one. TitanGAF is a private one I'll dish out invites to.

EDIT: Anonymous Orangutan you poo face! I was an hour into duplicating the spreadsheet into a fancy one I was making. Nevermind it's sufficient. I'll just... yeah

Mmmm
Theres already a GAF Network that was created during the Tech Test...
http://www.titanfall.com/en_us/networks/playstation/74/

The idea is to have an invite only one that'll be locked away from lurkers. Though, of course it's fine to join any network instead. We're just making them for those who want a more private room experience.

I believe that was the network for the tech test, which will have a number of people who tried out the tech test and didn't buy the full game. There's three new networks, all named "TitanGAF", which will be guaranteed to only have GAF members with the full game.

He didn't really have a problem though with the beta though right? Also, I wonder how the rest of the maps feel as even he calls out the 'empty' problem I had with some of the beta maps.

Anyways, I'll get to listen to it tomorrow. Good time for shooters.

Definitely some.... interesting Networks here....

Good I fo, thanks everyone. I'll def look into battle beaver, too

Amazon shipped. Standing by for Titanfall.

Running with this and Gears for the rest of the year. I'm already looking forward to the Christmas noobs.

One of the things that CoD's lost after Respawn dudes left is multiple factions with unique announchers.

How many selectable factions are in the game and do they change my in game annoucher or is it like everyone in the team gets the same dude?

For those on PS4, connect to Belgium servers CE2 so you can join full Attrition matches. You might lag, but better than not being able to play at all, no?

I believe there are four, two militia, two IMC, militia announcers are Sarah and Parker from R1, one of IMC announcers is Blisk from R1.

With those XIM adapters and WASD+Mouse peripherals, isn't the input a lot different than playing on a PC since the consoles would read/register those inputs differently than a PC would? I have no experience with them but it seems like there would be weird acceleration and movement but I could be wrong.

yeah but it's still a lot better than aiming with a thumbstick

The reviews are good. What are you confused about? The negativity spawned primarily from the early version tech test, since which a number of common complaints have been addressed.

Usually those betas are very identical to the retail.

So, the complaints were so small and easily changed before release?

If so, i might have jump in.

The question would be ps incase i get a pro for better performance or xbox for the elite controller.

The concern was over: 1. The maps 2. The new gametypes not being well-liked, 3. Gameplay modifications compared to the first game.

We've since seen better maps, had more popular modes confirmed, and some of the gameplay changes were adjusted in the second tech test in a way that most people liked. Most still agree that Titanfall 2 MP is different from the first, but not to the extent of it being ruined or a total downgrade.

Out of the 9 maps, 4 (IMO) seem to confirm the issues some of the community were worried about. Limited and tunnel-like.

Base pilot speed was increased during Tech Test. Titans stayed the same IIRC.

Batteries are still a thing. Some like it, others believe it's unnecessary tedium.

You can't customize the Titans with the primary weapon or ordnance you'd like.

Titan Smoke is now based on a meter threshold
