After rolling credits, Splatoon Raiders made it clear that there is still a good amount of post-game content to check out. I just don't feel much of a drive to play more. I had fun drowning all of those salmonids in ink. But just like them, I've had my fill.

Splatoon Raiders is great. Putting more of a focus on solo and co-op for this game has led to an adventure with a really satisfying progression as you level up, grind stages for experience and gear, and build up your loadout to tackle the next big challenge.

By removing Turf War and transitioning to something pretty close to a first-person shooter, Nintendo has taken what makes the franchise unique and discarded it with Splatoon Raiders.

Splatoon Raiders is a partially refreshing spin-off with new gameplay aimed at rich loot, fast combat system and vast customization making this hunt for treasure refreshing even after 15 hours. The co-op or multiplayer components' cannot be denied, but if you want to honor your Splatoon skills in different ways, this is one charming title to do so.

Splatoon Raiders got great shooter qualities. It''s a perfect game for turning my head off after a long day and just splat away. But I would be more happy, if I could raid a treasure island that got more moments that stick out besides cool boss fights and well made cutscenes that are few and far between.

Splatoon Raiders is a genuinely great twist on the Splatoon formula. Going in, I wasn't sure what to expect, but as I left the tutorial, I knew this was a game that I find far and above more my preference than the mainline games. It might not have the deepest story, but what Splatoon Raiders does have is a sense of adventure, and the island hopping in search of treasure does just enough with its story and characters to keep you entertained through to the credits.

so as someone who mainly plays Splatoon for the single player campaigns, this single player only spinoff is BY FAR the least appealing one of the entire series for me. which is quite ironic

Never understood this "review" angle. It's what a young game "journalist" does who's doomed to the fry kitchen sooner or later.

Game looks fun- expand on what it is you do, how long you do it for, and if it's fun or not.

Nintendo Life review definitely sells this game as a must play… the enthusiasm is hard to ignore, and NL have been much more negative over the last six months or so, which makes me think it's legitimately a lot of fun and packed with content.

Words cannot express how hard I rolled my eyes at that Stevior review blurb. Jesus Christ there's been three whole games where Turf War and similar competitive modes was the core of the game. After a decade maybe, just maybe, it's time to try something different?

It's not like this will be replacing the inevitable Splatoon 4.

THis is a spin off, I was expecting a new gameplay; a strategy game like XCOM could have been fun for example, with the ink mechanics.

Instead, we get something really iterative; it controls the same as previous Splatoon, it looks the same, it sounds the same.

I usually like your posts and on paper you almost convinced me because i like shooters and great progression, then i watched some gameplay and it look like temu ratched and clank with horrible graphic and art design and confusing as hell...

Third parties have brought the real current gen on Switch 2; Capcom, Square, Ubisoft, or smaller studios like Bloober. Nintendo has been lazy as fuck and brought us souped-up Switch 1 games. It is the first time in the history of Nintendo consoles that Nintendo feels like they fell behind on their own machine. ANd that Splatoon spin-off definitely looks like it started development on Switch 1.

How are they duds? Most games turned out totally fine. Not every game is for everyone. I personally don't care about Kirby Air Riders or lifesims like Pokopia and Tomodachi but that doesn't mean the games are bad for the target audience.

Mario Kart was fine.
Donkey Kong Bananza fantastic.
Hyrule Warriors alright for genre fans.
Metroid Prime 4 not as bad as some people claim.
Yoshi is fun and so ist Star Fox.
