[UK] Digital ID to be compulsory for all UK adults under government plans

Nice to see Starmer employing the tactics of the previous US gov. with the fake pre-vetted press conferences and the disastrous interviews where nothing but word salad is delivered that flies in the face of any actual evidence.

God help us all.

UK is just speed running its demise now. Release the brakes and stomp on the peddle.

Nearly ~$91B exiting the country this year, almost as much as China, India and South Korea combined.
A big part of that is that the UK is now less lax about wealth management in the city arranging for people to hide money offshore for tax reasons. You can clearly see all the wealth management clients just move to the UAE on your chart where they don't even have to hide anything offshore. But there are other reasons for people leaving such as the country's economy being shit due to Brexit and austerity.

Fake.

I lived in China for many years and immediately knew what this actually was. This post is correct, all this is using technology to replace the security guards that sat at the entrance to these gated communities to monitor who was allowed in. As a foreigner these guards would usually stop me in the first week until they knew I was actually living there.

It's always good to see evil absolutely shit itself.

That being said, they've now shown their arses. The majority of these isles are now 'the enemy' according to these marxist bastards. If only they were so animated and mobilised when our kids are being gang raped.

These people are so integrated...

"This is our country". He is not wrong.

That underpass where the flag is he spits on...

Is in my town!

I recognise that underpass. My ex lived just up past his right shoulder, and behind him is a pond we used to fish at! I used to ride under that pass everyday as a kid..

What in the actual FUCK?

Angry Karl. And too right.

Where did this idea come from that anyone can be English? I'd never go around saying I'm Japanese, or Pakistani..?

What is going on here? 😐

When did my actual ethnicity become a skin suit? 🤔

It's all a bit weird.

They are absolutely desperate. They are going to say a ton of absolutely whacky and downright disgraceful demonization of the right in the run up to the next GE.

I remember 10+ years ago this bloke was a "conspiracy theorist," and "rRrRraaacist" for pointing out what UK/Europe was going to end up with in current year.

*Sips a spot of tea*

Morgoth summed it up quite well I feel.

'Of all the crimes the British State has committed against its native population, denying them the right to call themselves what they are is perhaps the most cruel and vindictive. If 'English' is reduced to only a bureaucratic procedure, then the English people become stateless. Robbed even of the name historically used to describe them.'

There's numerous words for this, none of them particularly pleasant. You're a similar age to me iirc, you know as well as I that for 25+ years the English haven't been able to fly their flag with pride without some sickening caveat attached -either a sporting event or some multicultural horseshit elevated far above it. We're not allowed to just be 'us', we're not allowed to celebrate 'us'. Until a few weeks ago that is, now that cat is well and truly out of the bag. Hence the panic.

Excellently put

And you just reminded me to add Morgoth too.

Yeah you are right, it has actually been very shit these last few decades

It does seem to be getting to a 'now or never point'

After watching all the usual news bits about the Labour conference and seeing the broad sheets, it all seems weirdly reminiscent of..

These people are in a serious state of infantile arrested development..

And they now run the country :messenger_neutral:

We're so fucked :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Sir Keir Starmer is expected to announce plans for a compulsory UK-wide digital ID scheme in a speech on Friday.

The prime minister believes it would help crack down on illegal working and modernise the state, according to senior figures in government.

The practicalities of the scheme will be subject to a consultation, which will also look at how to make it work for those without a smartphone or passport.

The previous Labour government's attempt to introduce ID cards was ultimately blocked by the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition.

Oi haf you got a loicense for this here post???

There not many of us just willing to hand over our country, but thanks for the offer.

I'm honestly totally done with the UK now I've seen enough to know we are finished as a country, I don't have any faith common sense will govern the country ever again and we will continue being replaced with cousin shagging rapist pedophiles who hate everything about the UK other than our soft laws and benefit/housing hand outs.

They've already got facial recognition cameras everywhere. Even on the calm estate not half a mile from me. Country is done. Finished. 3rd world wedged between functioning civilisations. Takes years to get anything positive done (if not outright cancelled) but minutes to pass things that will fuck people up and ruin lives.

Probably not a popular opinion here, but South Korea does something like this and is a much more useful frame of reference than China.

I think there's value in it potentially. Most western nations are getting into this adult verification ID shit that has you age verifying, face scanning, submitting driver's licenses/passports and all that shit with different processes for different sites serviced by who-knows-what third parties.

Seems much cleaner to just have a nationally issued and recognized digital identifier automatically issued to every citizen at <insert age here> and call it a day.

I do admit this is the UK we're talking about so I understand why there are misgivings.

It's about trust, and nobody trusts this government or their intentions.

Starmer said it was about immigration, yet in India yesterday he was talking about banking and people's money. So already they're lying about the reason they want it.

Unjust arrests, lack of due process, etc., happen there all the time through the system being abused in S Korea. They just have better marketing to the world with bubble gum cutesie shit.
