I would love it, but i dont think there is a big crowd waiting for Starcraft 3.
Even there the hype died down for Starcraft.
League of Legends is the popular game is South Korea, along with gatcha games.Even there the hype died down for Starcraft.
Mostly because of the quality of SCII though.Even there the hype died down for Starcraft.
I know that it has been 16 years but do you all think that there is a market for Starcraft 3? I loved the first two entries and they were commercially successful. Or has too much time gone by? RTS used to be the defining genre on pc back in the good ol days!!
That was pretty much the death of RTS as a genre. They made simplified games that could be played on console - console players had no interest and PC players were also put off. Also why we likely won't see an SC3 - publishers aren't interested in a game that can't be on as many platforms as possible.Hard to make a profitable AAA game on PC only. It's modern Blizzard, so they'd try releasing on console anyway, especially now that they're owned by MS.
They'd dumb down the game so it's easier to play with a controller, only to discover that console gamers still won't touch it.
You sure that's a deciding factor? With that logic we would have Half Life 3 already.RTS in general is nothing but a niche.
Consider this: if Starcraft 3 would have been successful, we'd have a Starcraft 3 by now.
It's a niche because it only really works with mouse and keyboard. And anything that can't be ported to every device is a non-starter nowadays.RTS in general is nothing but a niche.
