First God of War and Tsushima had respectable CCU #s. It was the woke trash sequels like Spiderman 2 and TLOU2 that underperformed big time. Just give us Astro Bot you cowards.
That's a crazy thought. Not even a remake. Just a port. And it'd make the cash flow. Sad.How bout porting Bloodborne and Demon's Souls… Nah, that would be too easy.
I'm mostly here too, but the PC version of Days Gone is one of my most played games in the last 5 years. For me, it's their best game.Honestly, I wouldn't miss a single Sony game on PC. I haven't even finished any of them on the console, because whenever my interest dips there are better games on PC that pull me away. I liked the idea of them bringing their titles over and I wouldn't complain if they did, but if they didn't, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

GoodMost PC gamers don't give a fuck about hand me down Playstation garbage.
Sony said directly that their goal is to entice into PS5 platform new folks with PC ports and it worked for them. DualSense is the most poopular gamepad this gen, PS5 sales are safe and steady, Sony is the ony premium console brand.Maybe Sony doesn't care about PC as much as some people think they do.
I think this is true too. A lot of PCs players assumed that Sony would eventually port everything to PC but that was never something Sony said they would do.Sony said directly that their goal is to entice into PS5 platform new folks with PC ports and it worked for them. And there are more than enough games on PC to entice a new player. Loved Tsushima? Well, Yotei is there! Loved Rift Apart? We've got games like Astro on PS5. I'd argue even Spider-man trilogy is a good basis to entice people into buying Wolverine.
PC strategy simply played it's part for Sony and was left mostly for GaaS games.
Sony doesn't give a fuck about PC

I find that argument weird. People say all the time, people buy consoles because they're cheap and easy. No hassle, no adjusting settings, no windows, just plug n play. All of a sudden people are going to fork over thousands because God of war remake is on PC? I'd wager Sony is doing this because the next Xbox. Only way it makes sense.
While I think that's definitely a part of it I don't think it's one of the primary reasons for stopping PC ports if they are indeed stopping ports because unless Xbox does some turn around Xbox really isn't competition anymore. I don't think the optics are all that much worse then having their games on pc as it is or Helldivers 2 being ported to Xbox months ago. This is what I believe the reason is to. They don't want hardware with the name Xbox having open access to their games.
Hardware warriors of all camps are annoying. The problem is PCMR tends to think they are superior to others because of their platform of choice and act like console players are some bottom feeding sub humans because they don't care about the same stuff that they do on top of thinking they are the center of the universe despite half of them only getting into PC gaming in the last couple years. And PlayStation people don't either?

PlayStation ports on PC started off pretty well but gradually sold less and less. Now you can say that's because some of the games are "woke trash" as some people describe them here or just bad which is subjective but really I think a lot of it was down to novelty. Once the novelty of PlayStation games coming to PC wore off people cares less and combine that with some poor ports and without the juggernaut of Helldivers 2 the PC strategy hasn't done well enough as they probably hoped for.

Yeah, something like a Gaming Discussion section would be nice.I feel like we need a seperate section on the site for video game business / sales discussions.
poopular, indeed.DualSense is the most poopular gamepad this gen
I'm of the opinion that Sony should continue to port their GAAS titles to PC as well as when mandated (MLB The Show for example and possibly Wolverine as that might be a Marvel decision not Sony but who knows) but all single player titles should remain exclusive to PlayStation.Every platform has its strengths and weaknesses. Personally, I'm focused on the games above all else. If releasing titles on PC helps Sony generate additional revenue, that ultimately benefits players by allowing the company to reinvest in development—especially considering how significant the budgets have become for first-party titles.
That said, I don't believe Sony should move to a day-and-date PC release model. If PC sales were to surpass console sales, it could create challenges for their hardware ecosystem. However, I'm not convinced that PC sales are the core issue.
Sony has delivered strong exclusives on PS5, but the question remains: where are the truly generation-defining titles? Many first-party releases have felt like extensions of the PS4 era rather than clear leaps forward. I'm hopeful that Wolverine will be one of those standout experiences, but overall, much of the lineup so far has felt iterative rather than transformative
I mean, I wouldn't say no to WipeOut and Motorstorm ports...Most PC gamers don't give a fuck about hand me down Playstation garbage.
Sidebar, played the hell out of Days Gone until I ran until a game breaking bug. Unimaginable frustration after sinking 15 to 20 hours into the story, to then reach this mission where you had to pick up a sniper rifle on this tower and cover your partner while he placed bombs. I could pick up the sniper rifle, but for the life of me it bugged out and would not fire.I'm mostly here too, but the PC version of Days Gone is one of my most played games in the last 5 years. I own 2 PS5's but I'm still more likely to buy their games if they come to PC, as I just massively prefer mouse and keyboard controls.
If single player game manufacturers just supported mouse and keyboard on consoles I'd probably only use my PC for heavily modifiable games like Bethesda RPGs lol
Yeah that really sucks. IIRC the game actually gives you the proper rifle actually after the previous mission, you end up with the super high powerful unlimited ammo in your inventory.Sidebar, played the hell out of Days Gone until I ran until a game breaking bug. After reloading a save I had about 10 minutes prior to the mission, it did the same thing. Desperate, I bit the bullet and loaded up a save that was nearly an hour earlier. Decided to not follow the same order of events that led me to it, and went ahead and did some other side missions. Finally made my way back to the area (I think it was a Dam) and still couldn't fire the damn rifle.
I tried mods. I tried a cheat engine. The game was just broken. It actually wasn't the first time this happened as well, earlier in the game you have to follow your partner down off the watchtower (where you lived) to get on the bike, and for whatever reason my character would not take a step off of the watchtower as if there was an invisible wall. I can't remember how I'll resolved this, but it definitely was a pain in the ass.
I know this is irrelevant, I just never had the opportunity to bitch about this to anyone who cared about the game
They won't be anymore, if you want to play the epic PlayStation Studios AAA slop you need to buy a PlayStation - only GAAS slop goes on PC as well.
Returnal is fantastic on PCMost PC gamers don't give a fuck about hand me down Playstation garbage.

Nah, they likely can't creep past $800 for a base console. It's a device designed largely for one thing, that is already struggling to attach itself to the younger generations on tablets and smartphones. As long as the PS6 remains more affordable than high-end alternatives like premium gaming PCs or enthusiast-level systems, it would still represent a relatively lower cost of entry into current-generation gaming—especially if Sony continues to prioritize keeping its major titles exclusive to PlayStation consoles.
Why do you care where they put their games as long as you can play them? You hope they don't put a few so PC only dudes can't play them? Huh? Sony doesn't want to convert PC gamers, they want to get extra revenue by selling to that market. To date they have made a couple billion. How many PS5s would they have sold otherwise? Getting this revenue makes their games more successful and that is good for you fanboys that hate when others get to enjoy what you like without joining your loyalty cult.I don't think they are serious or the games would of course launch at the same time.
I think they have a separate part of the company mining/salvaging the back catalog for revenue as long as it doesn't interfere with the main show. It's not the priority though. Hopefully sony will hold back some crown jewels just for the console or at least delay the time before release to 2-3 years instead of just 1 year(or 6 months). Of course gaas, indie level games(kena) and 2nd party style games can go to PC but Sony needs to hold a couple back for the folks.
Probably would sell bad but perhaps not?I just want Gravity Rush on PC![]()
Except they care a whole lot about GaaS and they care a whole lot about GaaS on PC.Maybe Sony doesn't care about PC as much as some people think they do.
Not sure what point you're trying to make here. It doesnt refute my initial point of pc not being the main focus of what sony does.Except they care a whole lot about GaaS and they care a whole lot about GaaS on PC.
As far as GaaS I would say it is pretty much equal focus with PlayStation. Not sure what point you're trying to make here. It doesnt refute my initial point of pc not being the main focus of what sony does.
So if GAAS is split between all platforms and SP tentpoles are only on PS, how is PC getting equal focus? As far as GaaS I would say it is pretty much equal focus with PlayStation.
There were rumors about a Gravity Rush 2 PC port, that was apparently being tested on Steam Deck at the time... but that was like 2 years agoProbably would sell bad but perhaps not?
They could easily port the firsts remaster to pc.
The second game is so good I should finish it
