Resident Evil Requiem |OT| Through the Darkness

Not giving spoilers for the benefit of other gamers, had anyone tried and already finish insanity mode? How was it? Is it really difficult and challenging?

I'm, actually, not yet finish with the game. just first playthrough.

I've been enjoying it, hope they keep patching up the Switch 2 game to keep improving frame rate.
I hope too. But if the number of people who are fine with such perfomance is the majority, capcom will be more than happy to keep the game in this state.

replaying the game on insanity and Leon's parry is the most OP mechanic in ANY RE game, MR X 2.0 was a joke of fight, you can parry almost every attack he does.

Try to have at least 3-4 Requiem rounds when you have the heart and the lungs. Things are about to get ... chaotic.

OK, that was stupid easy... I'm playing with the joycon to point n shoot, and I had the reticle turned off

I was aiming way too low, and it also indicates when you're more accurate by waiting to shoot...

seriously, two bullets.

1st person can make things more tense(when things are in your face up close) but overall I think 3rd person overall is the way to go. Especially when it comes to Leon combat/finishers where it hotswaps to 3rd person anyway in addition I feel like not only do you see more of what's around you but I feel you can move and maneuver faster as opposed to 1st person mode.

And melee combat is definitely much better in 3rd person mode as well.
I would understand that if we talking about VR but in flat screen just no….also unlike Ethan in RE7&8 Grace has proper face and you see her in cutscenes and you can change her clothes, what would be thepoint playing in 1st person and not her new outfits?

I have the same issue with Cyberpunk 2077, the game has detailed character creation and gives you different outfits but WTF is point of all that if 99% of the game you just staring at your character's hands when you are playing?

Re7 has the most dogshit enemy variety\quality in the whole series, and it barely felt like playing a re game, amd it had possibly the worst protagonist in the series, what the fuck is this narrative that they changed it because it was too scary? The beginning was the scariest part but it doesn't last for the whole game.

It was a nice but flawed experiment, like 8.

Requiem feel like playing a mix of 2remake and 4 remake, a safer bet that feel better than both 7 and 8 but without touching the first 4 original games that for me are still the best (rebirth over vanilla re1 tho)

Some elements are clearly superior to the old ones like combat, graphic, the zombies etc. But when i played the old game, they felt magical, modern re, even the good ones just feel like great games, not sure if i'm clear.

Playing with any added perks? How is the difficulty? Waiting for someone to tell me there is hope to have a normal playthrough without modifiers.

Waiting for the sun to set to jump back in.

The raccoon city graphics complaints are weird, it's exactly what a nuked city should look like and they captured it perfectly, even getting more ashy the closer you get to the epicenter; sure it's "brown", but that doesn't make it ugly from a tech perspective, it's very well made.

"I'll be cosplaying Ashley" while posting a picture of Grace.
Well she's Ashley's actual body model, so she could mean exactly what she says.

Sometimes GAF is obsessed with "colors" if a game is not colorful like candy that mean it has "bad graphics".

Yeah, if the game was like one month after the "nuke" i would agree with you, but its 28y later.

Also, this is what a nuked city actualy looks like after some time.

I present to you Hiroshima.

My biggest issue with RC is there shouldn't have been anything alive there. It should've been a ghost town.

I can not be bothered to platinum this shit man

replaying the very slow introduction sections again.... naw nigga... and grace parts while fine on first play in general, just nah.

Will be the only RE plat I wont have but fuck that.

I don't know the RC looks exactly what I imagined to look like after the aftermath of that incident.
It was 28y ago, nukes dont make places into lifeless deserts after 28y, it should have at least animals and plants ffs.

I've heard it was planned to also visit the Ruins of the Spencer Mansion, but it was cut.

I want a VR mode!

Looking forward to getting a mod that adds Lickers and Zombies to the Ruins of the RPD.

One of many things cut from this game. What I was curious more than anything is how the game would've been as just horror experience which was cut.

Out of all the games that needed a Mercenaries mode. The one game with the best physics and interesting level selections. Doesn't flipping have one. Drives me mad. I absolutely loved my time playing through the campaign. I have other things and other games to play. I'd love to just go back to those action sequences or boss fights and mess some 💩 up.

This game kind of shown how much youtubers and other fans read too much into what we seen in trailers. There was no big reveal that stalker is Alyssa, the voice in the trailer saying " have you seen the shit I've seen" was nobody that mattered.

Eh, nothing wrong with expecting some sort of point to Capcom going through the trouble of bringing back an obscure Resident Evil character into a mainline release. Even as jaded an RE fan as I am I didn't expect Alyssa's inclusion to be such a giant nothing burger that served zero purpose at all. Not that I thought or wanted her to be the monster myself but still.

The Leon sections were much better than Grace sections.

Just finished the game on Insanity, by the end of if you can have more bullets as Grace than Leon.

The last Boss is very easy.

What are the items you need to craft with Leon? I'm only 8/9

G+G herb combo
G+G+G herb combo
(G+G) + G herb combo *i-e take an already G+G and add a third G, this counts as a separate item
Handgun ammo
Shotgun ammo
Rifle ammo
Machine gun ammo
Hand grenade
Stacked grenade (combine two regular grenades)

So without infinite ammo it would be too hard then? Oof thats a bummer man
Infinite ammo isnt that tough to get, plus the RPG.

Maybe try to do one easy run to prep for the speed run/insanity. Finding all racoons also gives you the ability to add one more level to weapon upgrades.

Yep figuring out how OP the hatchet parry is was a lot of fun. Also the tentacles on Victor final form, felt good parrying through all that shit.

I thought they changed the canon on what type of bomb they used? unless they confirm it in Requiem, so far (where I am) they just talk about a missile.
There was an interview a long time ago by the writer who just said it was a top secret US weapon, and its details are unknown; so it's a fictional superweapon.

There better be an award coming Angela Sant'Albano's way, she did an outstanding job as a voice actor.
My only complaint is that I wanted to see
a bigger breakdown when Emily died - full on sobbing as she would stress on the fact that in Emily she saw her redemption in not saving her mother, only for the guilt and sense of failure to return tenfold as she witnessed that innocent child turn into a twisted horror.
This isn't the actress' 'fault', of course.

On one hand the quality is really good most of the time on the other hand she does get a bit carried away with the excess stuttering.
I was speaking in general terms. You can criticize the constant fear-filled gasps and shaky breathing when you're controlling her, but in the cutscenes, it's perfect in my opinion.

As for the script, it's Resident Evil -so a bit (or very) cheesy- but it works well as a video game. I totally get your spoiler though.
