🏎️ F1 2026 - let's go!!!

Hahaha Wack Verstappen lovely stuff. Nice work Georgie boy, Merc 1 2 ⚪💪. Going to be an intresting season.

My boy Bortoleto at P10 is nice. I hope he gets a podium

And holy shit Kimi and Piastri. The rookies past year showed great numbers, and they're already at this. I can see those two fighting for the championship this year

Verstappen is now the Perez/Lawson/Yuki of RBR with a car he can't drive.

Merc have got a clear advantage in quali, have to see how that affects their tyre management in a full race now. But looks like it could be a case of amass a lead ahead of August and then hopefully have enough to cruise to the title. Shame as 3rd-7th was quite close.

Thank you! Who is your favorite driver/team? I'll use that as a basis for where I start too!
I've always been a fan of Williams, even though they haven't won a thing in decades. But they're on the climb now, finished 5th overall last year. Among the leaders; Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, and McLaren, who I root for tends to change from year to year. Ferrari is just Ferrari. I've loved the brand since I was a kid. But I truly can't stand Hamilton, so they can get bent this year. When Mercedes dominated, I rooted for Red Bull. But as much as I respect Verstappen, enough is enough already. It's nice to see McLaren back on top, but I'm not a fan of their ownership. At least Williams is American-owned, so that gives me a 'home team' to root for. Although Cadillac is new to F1 this year. I'll be interested to see what they're capable of.

If ownership and history means anything to you in terms of who you root for, spend a little time reading up on this year's teams. The landscape is always shifting. You might like a certain driver, but then they move to a team you don't like. Then what do you do? :) For me, it's nothing like rooting for a baseball or football team. I'll always have a soft spot for Williams, but everything else changes from year to year.

No. Not the Merc domination again. 0.5s clear off everyone.

We now know that Mercedes has good single-lap pace at this track.

In about 12 hours, we'll see who can best manage their energy deployment over a full race distance.

That one seems like rear axle locked up not a driver error. But I'll take it lol. Simply lovely!

F1 racing has never been more exciting with all that battery management. Couldn't care less about strategic pit stops and tyre changes. No, battery management is where its at. So much fun seeing these drivers take their foot off the gas pedal on the straight and pretending they're still racing pedal to the metal! And who doesn't love the sound of a hybrid car roaring by?

"I don't know what the Mercedes lap looks like, but we were lifting and coasting three times a lap. We had two superclips through the lap. And in some corners we've got effectively 450 horsepower less."

Says it all really. Just absolute fucking retardation to keep same battery capacity as last year but then insist on 50:50 power distribution with internal combustion engine, while removing the heat recovery charging from last year as well. I'd be pissed if I paid for a ticket to watch live. Only thing that gives me slight hope is verstappen car locking up again but in the race.

Definitely won't be picking up f1 2026 game with all this battery mid corner coasting shit involved.

Maybe its only the season start. I am beginning to go lukewarm on F1 seeing today's race. Subconsciously I am now questioning drivers capabilities.

Plenty of overtaking action early on could have been more pressure on Mercedes if Ferrari didnt shit the bed yet again with strategy.

Mercedes v Ferrari was firce as fuck. Greatness was in

Kimi has everything to have a championship in the near future

Also, my brazilian neighbor Bortoleto with P9. Nice debut with the new machinery

Edit:

"I heard that your ex broke your heart... Do you need points to heal it?"

Yeah, F1 is really shooting itself in the foot with this battery bullshit. I didn't realize the extent to which they've implemented it. Now that I know, I have zero interest in watching any further races. From hyped to fuck-off in 1 week.

Either the graphics team screwed up, which they've done plenty of times before, or FOM is attempting to manipulate the data to hide the battery shenanigans. It's been bad enough seeing post-edited footage being manipulated, but doing shit live is unforgivable for the "sport".

The safety car restart didn't change things much but good to see both Ferraris on podium. Once again some back and fourth for P1

Yeah, but then you look closely again and it seems artificial. Not sure I like it yet. Will have to see a few more races.

That's I was going to say. There's lots of times that they put 300 in obviously slow corners

It's fair to blame if the car gets slow, but sensationalism is no option

With that said, I miss V10 sound, but the races still have awesome overtakes, which F1 is all about

So if hostilities are still ongoing towards end of year Qatar and Abu Dhabi races could also be cancelled meaning Las Vegas would be last race of the championship.
