Sony XDev - Studio that collaborates with external studios (Stella Blade, Death Stranding 2) removed PC ports from its description

Well second party deals already made are obviously being respected and will launch on whatever platform the deal covers. This is not a present immediate thing, its a move that can affect future partnership deals, not the ones already in place.

Where's the evidence of this? The Bloomberg speculation refers to Sony firstly party.

That's the problem they're rectifying.

Where's the hard evidence for this beside a vague job description change of one studio. Third party timed exclusivity is going to be doing a lot of heavy lifting for exclusive Sony titles. Sony first party single player games is ramping down rather than ramping up. There's no money in single player exclusivity unless you are Nintendo who are playing is a different galaxy like Sony and Microsoft. The days of old Sony pre-PS4 have long gone.

If you don't see it yet, you will soon.
Sony are leaving GaaS behind too. 😉

LoL this is not a tribunal my friend.. all here is especulation and what ifs so calm down with the inquisition ...

So third-party exclusives that they fund or help develop will have to handle the PC version themselves. Looks like Sony is making a pretty drastic shift away from PC. Really interestin

If PlayStation is the only place to buy the biggest games everyone is talking about, then lots more people would buy one.

Sony's job is to then create that game.

I think people here either don't get the picture or just ignore.

They are pretty much obssesed with the sales/profit, while we are talking about selling more PS5 as a piece of hardware.

Sony wants to sell more hardware because they are not cheap to produce anymore, and limiting the numbers of plataforms their games are release will help them selling their 'consoles'.

We can't travel to the future to really know if Sony backing to the roots will make them more money, but we don't need a crystal ball to say making exclusives a thing again will help them to sell PS5/PS6, not to mention a PS6 handheld will be way WAAAYY more tempting.

Sony will never offer them $300 million though. Pearl Abyss declined Sony's offer to publish Crimson Desert in exchange for exclusivity. Shift Up wants to publish their future games themselves now.
Securing exclusive rights for a third-party game doesn't seem realistic unless it's console exclusivity with a simultaneous PS/PC release, which in my opinion is already a good deal for both parties.

So why waste money on exclusivity when you only cut out Nintendo. Seems worthless for 3 partyGames.

Imo They will stop supporting those games or we will start to see more exclusive 3 party games again.
