In Italy at the time, it was impossible to buy, but I managed to rent it for a long weekend with a friend. It was like bringing an arcade at home.![]()
I will be able to afford one! 35 years later.
70 dollar cartridges? What kind of bargain is this? In my country they were about 250-300€ of the 90s. So… 600€ of today's money?Because fucking lol i will not in a million fucking years pay 70 dollar for a single cartridge.

Yeah this is pretty close to what I always wished for to happen. The only real criticism I have is the cartridge prices. At that price point, only die hard retro fans will bite. The games should be more accessible. Come on, they can't be that expensive to produce these days. The system would have a lot more mainstream appeal if they were like 40 or 30 instead of 70. What would make this whole project god tier is if SNK gave a shit making devs develop NEW games for the system and release them physically as well.God I can't. But I could. But I can't.
If this is going to sell well we could enter into a true-retro-renaissance of consoles (and NOT the mini ones).
I'd re-buy instantly all the NEC ones, and SEGA. Fuck, the Lynx too.
Shame that only the in-house developed games could be reissued, I think.
Back in the day that amount of storage was insanely expensive. These days… no70 dollar cartridges? What kind of bargain is this? In my country they were about 250-300€ of the 90s. So… 600€ of today's money?

There is NO reason besides inflated fanboys they are priced as they are.
They don't plan to make it mainstream, and no one can seriously believe it could be mainstream when those ROMs can be bought on official online stores for peanuts today. The system would have a lot more mainstream appeal if they were like 40 or 30 instead of 70.

Do we know how these carts are made ? Unless we do, I don't think we can assume they are that cheap. If they are made like the old ones, with two big ass PCBs and many ROMs on them, this is gonna be pretty expensive to make.Back in the day that amount of storage was insanely expensive. Yes it isMy apologies if this has been said somewhere already, but can this thing also play original Neo Geo modules? I.e. is this backwards compatible with the games that were released back then?
Compatible with new NEOGEO AES game cartridges and backward-compatible with original NEOGEO AES game cartridges
Are you really sure that this will be an important aspect for you?I need to hear what the controller sounds like before considering buying it. The clicks of the joystick have to be absolutely authentic
Ah. Thank you very much. I probably should've read the page more carefully.Yes it is
From product page:
I jumped on this immediately. I have an almost complete collection between MVS and AES, and the fact this is just new productions of the original Hardware means my converters should work fine.
Just need these MFs to rerelease Neo Turf Masters and Stakes Winner. Their release of SamSho V S plugs one hole for me as is.
Big Tournament Golf IS Turf Masters. The must have run into a licensing issue with the name.I jumped on this immediately. I have an almost complete collection between MVS and AES, and the fact this is just new productions of the original Hardware means my converters should work fine.

Give in to the new precious shiny things.
