What Games Are You Most Looking Forward To In 2026?

Darkmakaimura

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
For me, it's the following....

  • Rogue Trader: Processional of the Damned DLC - this is my top most anticipated. An ages old mystery and dungeon crawler in Wh40k
  • Sinking City 2 - first game is probably the best Lovecraft based game out there. Really looking forward to this one
  • Metro 2039 - probably about equal to Sinking City 2. One of my favorite first person shooter series
Bonus mention because it might not be out this year....
  • Darksiders 4 - huge fan of the whole series and what I consider the closest to be a contemporary Legacy of Kain

The Duskbloods, I like how the multiplayer works on Fromsoftware games, but Nightrein wasn't really my jam, from what I read about Duskbloods tho, seems really interesting and Miyazaki might end up cooking a new sub-genre for online games with it.

Other than that I'm excited for Splatoon Raiders, I really like the IP, over 500 hours into Splatoon 3 here lmao, curious to see how a full singleplayer game will work.

For the rest of the year.

-Blood of Dawnwalker: Really like the premise and I trust some of the talent involved. The latest showing didn't look too good, but I remain optimistic.

-The eternal life of Goldman: Gorgeous looking platformer, and the demo was fun even though there was a bit too much talking (though the story could go in an interesting direction)

-Ace combat 8: It's Ace Combat 8

Just going by steam wishlist, at minimum ~10 should make it this year

None with a solid date. For ones with a general date and ripe for delays:

- He-Man Dragon Pearl of Destruction
- Castlevania Belmont's Curse
- Bloodstained The Scarlet Engagement
- Onimusha
- Showa American Story

Honorable mention to The Adventures of Elliot which I only found the other day thanks to the Steam calendar.

Bloodstained sequel is another one I'm looking forward to. That should be this year but who knows.

I can't say I'm looking at any upcoming releases this year. Still trying to catch up with what has been released already.

Not super hyped about anything, but looking at the Steam wishlist:

Derelikt
Ace Combat 8
Duel Corp
Ugomeku Note
Phantom Blade Zero
Alabaster Dawn (this comes out tomorrow?!)

Then there's other stuff like Sword Hero, Knights Path, Silent Planet, Fatekeeper or Alkahest but those don't have a release date yet.

And of course whatever Atlus releases next. Hopefully we get some SMT news soon!

2039 is not coming out this year. I wish it did but I really don't see that game coming out around Christmas.

Apart from that,

007 First Light
AC Black Flag
MGS4
Blood of Dawnwalker
Wolverine
GTA 6
Ace Combat 8
STALKER 2 DLC
Control 2
Hell Let Loose Vietnam
ONTOS
Silent Hill Townfall

And probably a few more I'm forgetting right now. But mainly I'm hyped for GTA 6, that alone will make my year.

I forgot how many games are still coming out this year :pie_open_mouth:.

eBaseball PRO SPIRIT: Professional Baseball Spirits 2026
Witchbrook
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Beast of Reincarnation
Kena: Scars of Kosmora
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Magical Craft: My Enchanted Dress Shop
Showa American Story
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
Rhythm Heaven Groove
Stranger Than Heaven

Need to see more of these:
Brigandine Abyss
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
NIVALIS

Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan! english fan-patch almost definitely coming out this year, too.
HYPERFUNK apparently had a demo at TGS but no offficial release date for that yet. Also no official release dates for Tanuki: Pon's Summer or B-17 Flying Fortress The Bloody 100th but I'll be keeping an eye on those.
Kingdom Hearts 4 at some point, new Jet Set Radio, Medieval III Total War, Dragon Quest XII

Realstically no way I'm gonna be able to play all these games this year but between that and already released Death Stranding 2, Romeo is a Dead Man, Pokopia, Zero Parades, Magical Princess, and eventually Resident Evil 9 and Pragmata this is gonna be a hell of a year for games :]

Winter 2026 goes from December til March of next year.
However that does not mean 2027 either. It could mean before Christmas or before NYE. I guess we'll have to wait and see but for now I'm including this as a 2026 release.

Stranger than heaven (if it releases this year)
Trails in the sky second chapter remake
If Stranger than Heaven is coming out this year than that jumps to near the top of my list :]
I should really try one of those Trails games sometime. I see the first one's got a demo. Adding that to my wishlist to remind me.

Echo Generation 2
Forza Horizon 6
007: First Light
Marvel's Wolverine
Fable
The Eternal Life of Goldman
Showa American Story
GTA 6

Extremely hyped about Metro 2039.
Cautiously optimistic about 007 First Light.
Looking forward to Mariachi Legends.
WHERE IS SEA OF SORROW, TEAM CHERRY!?

Probably these I'm most excited for that actually look to come out in 2026:
G2WOBMQMrBeglcMh.jpg
Elliot and Catlevania for me as well. I would add Mina on the switch 2. From the developers of shovel knight. A huge, top down zelda like game , gameboy style charm. It looks epic.

At the start of the year it was:
Resident Evil Requiem
007 First Light
Grand Theft Auto VI

I'd add:
Star Fox
Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave
Wolverine

StarFox and Madden.

I can't wait to have Fernando Mendoza lead my Raiders to a Super Bowl.

Not much has been announced that I'm hyped for though. I might not get GTA6 at launch. I'm in no rush for a Rockstar game that lost the good Houser brother.

I think the new Onimusha could turn out to be great. GTA6. Wolverine if they actually go all out graphically and it isn't too woke. Gears E Day and Fable.

Sucks we're not going to get Naughty Dog's game or whatever Sony Santa Monica is working on until at least next year.

Doesn't look like Nintendo will have a true killer app this year either.

Pretty much this, been a while since i last completed any of the Goemon games looking forward to having nearly all the best ones in one place.
