Incoming, it looks like a PS3 game… The game looks insane.

I dunno if it is a problem on my end, but there is no voice acting during gameplay.
Gameplay itself doesn't feel as tight as the original, and also I wish there was an option to change controls.
Seems like the difficulty has been tuned down. Definitely easier than the original. Maybe the harder difficulty mode is vanilla star fox 64 difficulty?

You can re-map the the buttons on Switch 2 and it'll save your configuration on a per-game basis. But maybe that doesn't work for demos (?), I haven't tried it.

this and Zelda remake art direction were very surprising.
It seems Nintendo finally puts some budget into their games. After MK and Bananza which don't look much different from Switch games, Zelda and Starfox are a very clear generation leap, if not multiple. Glad to see it

Considering that Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza were originally developed for the Switch 1, that doesn't surprise me.

It makes sense that Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Star Fox would be on a completely different level technically.

Here's my question. It's obvious Nintendo is going to continue it's business relationship with Velan. Would you rather see them:

a. Become Nintendo's Bluepoint and remake classic N64/GameCube/3DS games with modern graphics.

b. Shepard the Star Fox franchise and develop a new sequel on their own.

The voice lines are not as fun as in the original. It feels like the actors are holding back to not sound silly. But silly was the reason why the original voices are so memorable and in some cases iconic even.

"He's up to something, don't let your guard down" is nowhere near as funny or memorable as "are you gonna listen to that MONKEY?"

But it's not a net loss so far IMO. After lecturing you to brake and boost to dodge the asteroids, Falco now chimes in with "brake, boost...make up your mind!" which was not on N64 at all.

Kinda intrigued by what other changes there are throughout the game.

I don't expect anything interesting at all, most likely they will make it sound more safe and less "offensive".

Interestingly I noticed that in the 3DS version, the Meteos boss no longer says "you're not as STUPID as you look!", but they actually put that back in on Switch 2.

Yes game looks incredible, doing a Deep Dive of the Star Fox Franchise on our website and YouTube Channel prior to the games release, then will do a review of the actual game once it launches.
Have avoided the demo as already know its going to be awesome! its based on the Miyamoto game, with better modern graphics and new bits and pieces.. whats not to like.
Been saying for donkeys years that NINTENDO is sitting on a gold mine. Literally do the same they did here for EVERY Nintendo Miyamoto game and they would literally be printing money. His game design is timeless. Game Play really is king.

At least watch some gameplay videos 🤣🤣 Your comment is going to age like milk.
Watch some gameplay videos ??
What's next ? Being fair to a nintendo game ???

Jokes aside, im all for starfox being a looker, but i also know switch 2 track record... If this what they show, i wonder what will effectively be on the console.

1080p with Post-AA(SMAA?) according to DF during gameplay:

Still no DLSS!? Come on Nintendo!

What's next? Realizing that we are all discussing a real game demo of an actual level running on the Switch 2's in our houses?

Its a Twilight Princess event all over again

I don't remember anyone ever saying TP looked that great, either the original or remake.

The original didn't look outstanding by GC standards, and launched on the next console. All I can recall was people acknowledging it was a bit dated, but "saved by art direction" and all that. The "remaster" was kind of a joke.

This comes off as the way that Nintendo fans are projected to act and sliding it into history.

I didn't fully watch OP's video until now...honestly I can kinda understand the "Nintendo fans are easy to impress" crowd. It just doesn't look as good as on real hardware. I played this blown up on a 55" 4k set and was impressed. The video also doesn't have the warp area, which UTTERLY FLOORED ME. The other game I'm replaying right now, only because I made a new PC, is Ghost of Tsushima with maxed out settings...it's not like there are no standards here. You have to actually try this game.

This still image though, is not some promo from Nintendo subject to be nerfed, it's the warp zone I played on my real system. This pic is only 1080, but the real thing is using some reconstruction that made it look fantastic at 55". To be direct, I'm not really used to games that look like this having the gameplay/control feel of a 64 twitch shooter, BUT I LIKE IT. Yeah, it was enough to make me go "holy shit" while playing it.

Twilight Princess looked amazing on the GameCube and was very impressive at the time. It frequently appears on "best GameCube graphics" lists all over the internet.

The GC version came out two days after the Wii version. Wii was the better version, and had basically a GC game running in widescreen up against 360 and PS3.

While I'm sure future GC lists might be kind to it, at the time everyone knew it was graphically meh and leaned hard on Twilight Realm/art direction to get away with it. And gave it a pass because it was a last gen/Wii game.

Edit: This reminds me of these comments I read waaaay back https://www.penny-arcade.com/news/post/2006/11/13/zelda-is-really-good

I'm always fascinated by people who say "no it doesn't" when somebody mentions their entirely subjective opinion about something looking nice. You're aware that me liking the way something looks has no bearing on anything else that you may or may not find subjectively pretty, right? "I disagree", sure, but "you're wrong" is crazy work, haha.

*For a Gamecube game. Starfox looks amazing overall and i have a PS5 and a PC. But of course playing on a B4 77 Oled TV. The HDR implementation adds a lot to the experience.

I know it's a cop out but maybe a little from column A and a ton from column B. I'd much rather Star Fox be given a permanent home that it can grow and thrive under.

In the warp zone, Fox says "the academy doesn't prepare you for this." Slippy chimes in "to be fair you did skip a lot of classes at the academy."

Yeah some old and awesome one liners are lost but for my super sensitive Star Fox ears they are more than making up for it through actual character interaction and seemingly with actual character arcs. Some quotes, like Slippy's above could echo through the ages.

I didn't even know it has HDR, kinda devastating. I use a 1080 tv and monitor that I always keep cloned, and try not to update because the setup works well. This Nintendo game will be the one to finally make me want a new TV....damn.

I'm still annoyed / flabbergasted that they really didn't show anything, for what's easily their biggest hype announcement of the last couple years and is supposed to release in the next 6 months. It was their chance to really put an exclamation mark on not-E3, and they kinda blew it.

But yeah Star Fox looks sick, don't know if I'll bother with the demo since I'm day one anyways.
Just means we have either another general direct or a zelda focused one in our near future.

I said holy shit too, playing on my LG G3 OLED made my jaw drop. I kept thinking to myself how glorious it is to finally see Nintendo games in HDR. I can't WAIT to see the new 3d Mario and Zelda in proper HDR. Nintendo makes magic, I know that is cliche, but that is how I feel.

Ngl, I lasted about 5 mins. Didn't even finish the tutorial. I've never seen the appeal of Star Fox. Ultra on rails with repetitive gameplay. There's only so much you can do flying around in a ship perpetually going forward.

my bad.
I see "gamepaly video" and my mind go to bullshit in engine gameplay video directly.
Might be because im too jaded, as sony pony are known to be.
I wish i had retain some nintendo kid innocence.

"Blessed are the nintendo fans: for theirs is the kingdom of gameplay."

Makes sense. Reading the first sentence of OP might help next time.
