For big screen my choice is still Sony's LED based sets.I have a freshly purchased Bravia 9 and it's a dream to look at and play games on. I get more flexibility than most OLED displays, fantastic color accuracy, no burn in worries or dimming over time. I get wonderful HDR performance and fantastic reflection handling. I'm not a competitive gamer or a true purist so i don't mind the small amount of lag. Motion isn't as nice as my Sony GDM-FW900 but I'm happy with the performance i get out of it. One of my friends saw it and thought it was an oled.
For big screen my choice is still Sony's LED based sets.
I am eyeing the B9 ii or the B7 ii.
The B9 ii surprisingly has good input lag.

Samsung has been below 10ms for ages, and LG has been at around 10ms for about as long too.
Sony has been at 15ms for the last couple of years, and 5 or 6 years ago was often still at around 20ms, which is on the level of a typical Samsung's lag from around 2015.
like the AG9 from 2020, which had 21ms of lag, which is 1ms more than the Samsung I had in around 2016.
Sony is known for bad input lag compared to other top end TV manufacturers.
and generally for bad gaming features.
they still don't support 1440p unless you force it on a PC afaik. meaning if you have a Switch 2 you literally can't fully utilise the system's output capabilities (4k60hz + 1440p 120hz).
they also still don't support freesync I think, but that's honestly not that important anymore, but was an issue in the past.

For the S95H, it's 4.6ms in 120Hz, 9.2ms in 60Hz. The Bravia 9 Mk2 uses the same Mediatek Pentonic 1000 chip so input lag is close to identical to the original Bravia 9. The Samsung S95H has basically half of Sony's best input lag. Functionally it's a difference of half a frame when you are running 120 frames per second which is indistinguishable to the average person, but the facts are what they are. Regardless, you grabbed the 60Hz measurement for the S95H on the PCMag website you referenced and compared it to the 120Hz measurement for the Bravia 9 Mk2. Go double check it for yourself, it's your own source. The S95H's input lag in 120Hz is 4.6ms. I agree in that the criticism over input lag on Sony is overblown (we're literally talking half a frame of difference when displaying 120 frames per second), but we need to compare apples to apples.
I would agree if there would be a single 4K QD-OLED without the bloody useless glossy coating.Oled is superior to anything right now. Specifically QD- Oled.
dude it doesnt fuckin matter 9ms is 0.009 of single second, 16msvis 0.016 of single second. there isnt human on planet who will know the difference. as long as it is not something like 0.200 its fine because thats usually the line where people feel lag
just for comparison people playing consoles at 30fps have 0.033ms and even that is not usually perceptible by most of people.

I know you posted the PCMag reference because I proceeded to read it, which is why I noticed you were using the wrong data point in your post. Your personal preference on TV reviewers or how often Caleb does or doesn't do input latency tests is irrelevant. All you're doing right now is talking around the core reason why I responded to you in the first place: you were factually wrong about two things. Firstly, you used a 60Hz input lag number for the Samsung and compared it to the 120Hz input lag number for the Sony. That was you comparing apples to oranges. I find for living room tv's for a budgets of 1500 to 2k you can go massive and bright as hell with LED. Which for watching sports and stuff it is superior.For big screen my choice is still Sony's LED based sets.

Any pictures of your setup? I bet 83" is amazingI got an 83" C5 while it was on sale recently and holy shit this thing is awesome. I've seen horror stories about OLED uniformity on LG's screens but this one is perfect, as far as I can tell. Absolutely amazing picture quality

It's okay to get stuff wrong. I was man enough to admit in my previous post that I misremembered one of the figures. Wasn't the first time I got something wrong, and it certainly won't be my last. Is it really that hard for you to accept that you made a mistake as well?
so, how well regarded are these tests by value electronics? they seemingly use directors, movie editors and TV technicians and stuff as judges apparently...
but it seems kinda crazy just how dominant that S95H is, like damn...

Honestly, I couldn't tell you how much of a difference one sub makes vs two, I got 2 from the get-go, mostly because 1) I love heavy bass, in all forms of media... music, movies, games, and let me tell you, with this thing cranked up, it shakes the freaking house. Playing Doom Dark Ages, just running around vibrates the couch a bit, and the super shotgun firing will shake the room. It is pretty awesome. And 2) I like things being symmetric, just a weird quirk, so this way satisfies that (plus, the receiver had 2 subwoofer jacks, so I figured might as well use them both)Nice setup. Appreciate the feedback! I have the Denon X3800H, and yeah, Audyssey is game-changing good. I ended up buying the Audyssey MultEQ app on iOS to allow for finer tuning and it was worth every penny IMO. It lets you disable midrange compensation that's on by default (five of my speakers didn't need it), edit curves, set specific frequency ranges for Audyssey corrections to apply or be disabled if desired, and so forth. Ended up using it to help tune my buddy's speaker setup too.Thanks man! When I upgraded to the C5, I also got a new Denon receiver (AVR-X2900H), which pushes a lot harder than my old Denon, so it has taken some time to tune everything, at first the subs were bottoming out at certain frequencies. I have since fixed that and tuned the speakers with their Audyssey tuner tool, and now it hits hard AF, but doesn't bottom out.
My old Denon didn't support 120Hz, but this one does, so in games like Prime 4 I can enable that, and damn does it look good. The weird thing is, the receiver shows it running at 120Hz at 1440p, where I thought the Prime 4 120Hz mode was limited to 1080p, unless it is reading what the Switch is sending before it is downscaled, I don't know. Either way, it looks and sounds amazing, and if your receiver supports 2 subs, it wouldn't hurt to try adding one, if it doesn't add much to the experience then I suppose you could always return it.
