Instead of opting for the Australian route, Brazil will opt for failed USA route on guns? Violence will spike, more people will get shot arbitrarily. Women will get shot by their husband, Men will get shot by their wives.

Looking at a wikipedia article on Brazil gun politics it seems their gun problem is really exasperated by their gun industry and neighbors? Basically, Brazil has a huge gun manufacturing industry, 80% of guns made are exported then most are smuggled back into the country making most gun control methods ineffective.

This makes me really, really sad. It's somehow expected since it's a stigma the country has for a long time, but I was ingenuous enough to think this kind of prejudiced view had no place on a forum like NeoGAF where the majority of users has proper education and factual discussions are encouraged. lol

Some Brazilians who post on gaf suffer from the old complexo de vira-lata, which helps in perpetuating those exaggerated and uninformed views. It can be observed in most if not all threads with Brazil-related news.
