never heard he went after under age kids though, just young 18+ early 20s aspiring actors that moved to Hollywood.
IMO 17 is not really much creepier than 18ish for a full grown adult, BUT if there was force, doesn't matter the age, he should go to jail. Though, I am wondering why a lawsuit was filed against him instead of charges being brought against him.

I live in LA and my goal is/was to enter into the film industry as soon as I graduate. I look up to Bryan Singer, and I enjoy a lot of his movies. The school I go to (USC) has a department named after him. If this is true, it's one more in a long list of 'behind the scenes' horror stories I've heard about this industry.
It makes me want to pack up and try my luck back in Canada (where I was born).

It's obviously bad if Singer forcibly raped this guy, but I don't see the problem with other stories about him asking people for dick, provided they are the age of consent.
My bad, I was convinced it was the same person! I always considered that it was so cool that he was still doing voice acting while working on big movies.
I had them both mixed together!

Blowing over suggests it's swept under the table. Hopefully the truth comes out. If he is scummy, but the accusations were wrong then fine. Otherwise things need to be dealt with through proper legal channels.

Not at all. Isn't this very recent? Do we know everything about it? It was just a passing comment in hopes that it isn't a big deal. If it is, that would suck. I just got home so I don't know much about it and frankly neither does anyone else.

I always assumed most of the Hollywood gatekeepers used their power to fuck everything that moves. I have no problem with someone consenting sex to get parts, that's on them. But it's kind of chilling how the idea of rape can get lost in that shuffle, since it's such a seedy world anyway.

He's a Hollywood director who only does blockbusters. He has a new film on his plate every 18 months, the timing will always be "suspect."
I think "teen" suffices for both.
I still think he killed himself because of the things he did behind the scenes to get the little fame he had. Like that one Korean actress that killed herself, then it came out that she was being passed around.
Not everyone has to participate in the casting couch to get famous, but there are still a lot of people that do. Because when you think about it you there are a lot of beautiful people that have nothing and bet everything they do have on making it big in entertainment. I've known a few people in the entertainment industry and they tell me that the casting couch is real.

Honestly, I've heard about casting couch rumors for years. I think it was particularly vocal when Superman Returns was coming out and, there was a lot of talk about Brandon Roth becoming one of Singer's 'boys' etc.
However, I always (rather naively?) assumed it was far more innocent than all the gossip and he was acting as a mentor/support for young gay actors (many of whom are/were closeted) then necessarily using his movies casting calls/position as a director to get laid.

Theres a lot of other good people involved, usually I don't let stuff like this get under my skin with such big collaborative projects. Artsy self projects like Woody Allen though... that's a bit different.
