Shouldn't this be locked now that it's a confirmed fake?
Really well done one this time, 3D printed parts and expertly photoshopped screen, goddam
It is by no means confirmed fake.

Did I miss the post where this was confirmed fake?
Doesn't look too bad actually.
Rostii happens to be one of the nicer posters here on GAF, always providing useful info and facts, digging up patents etc. To see some turn on him because they don't understand one of his posts is sad.
For what it's worth, he also said he has no intention of trolling anyone - and I believe that.

I think they're trying to say the pic with the UE4 demo overlay means it's fake
But I don't think that's enough evidence tbh

Read it backwards.
Why would an UE4 demo have A/B buttons? Also in the wrong order for Nintendo input.

Nope. Hasn't been. They're making assumptions.

Really? After a detective gaffer discovered that it's simply a cropped screen from an existing demo, people are still thinking it could be real?

What the embodiment in the image is representative of I do not know, it may or may not be a prototype related to the project of interest, it may or may not be a final design to the consumer. What I do know is what I originally said, and that x distinguished excellencies/individuals have expressed indignation about this situation (and earlier events this year). I have full trust in my source. These leaks are unfortunate.
I have no intention to troll anyone or cause a commotion. My original post was primarily a way for me to express my thoughts about this. While it is of course nice to have something to discuss in terms of NX, I am hoping that future stories of this calibre house less harmful properties. I have faith in this clarification providing sufficient eligibility.
If that thing is real, you can now say goodbye to graphical power on the NX.
Crazy controller = more expensive to produce = less money for the grafixx chips
Understandable, there is really far too much leaks nowaday that it became harmful for a lot of people.Rösti;198611791 said:
The strange cropping, lighting, buttons, and non horizontal plastic running on the bottom basically all confirms this is fake, imo. The lighting is the biggest smoking gun. Looks like a fake screen with a light behind it.

Has anybody mentioned how the triggers could be the rumored scroll wheels from that one patent?

It doesn't matter if your fingers are there because it's in your peripheral vision. It's going to be fuzzy anyway, so it's not hurting to have extra screen space there even with thumbs being there too. It's not about having major action happening on the edges of the screen. It's just about having a leaf blowing in the wind the disappears naturally into your peripheral vision rather than just hitting a border. It's about rays of light extending further rather than being cut off at a hard edge. Not a huge deal, but nice, and certainly not "bad".
And I don't think they're going the haptic route either. Everything I said was said assuming that traditional buttons would still be there. Those real buttons would not change (unless they were transparent and unlabeled, allowing that to change because of light or screen underneath them), but extra touch screen options could be on screen in addition to the regular buttons just like the DS. Except now, you could move them wherever you wanted so you could actually reach them consistently, unlike the DS. And not many console games allow customizing the HUD to such a degree. That's more of a PC thing. So it would be cool to see it more widespread.
And of course, if Nintendo actually makes something well-shaped and ergonomic (as this leak is not), then I could see and extended screen working really well.
Not amazing stuff, and if the cost is too high might not be worth it. But if the cost isn't too high, then it would only add to the overall experience, not detract.

so either:
1. "It's unfortunate that the real controller got leaked"
or
2. "It's unfortunate that this piece of shit fake is out there painting peoples impressions of NX and we can't unveil the real thing until a later date"
The guy who mayde the Raymond leak commented on gamexplain's video as to whether they think it's real or fake:
NOPE. I call fake. This is clearly completely based on the patents that were filed, but the person who made this seems to have not noticed that the controller depicted in the patent had grips on it. Also, that "program often used to tell if an image has been Photoshopped" didn't find anything amiss with the Rayman "leak." Just saying. =P
Add to that the fact that there seems to be no glass or plastic surface on the display which would be evidenced by screen parallax on the edges of the screen. Also, no evidence of screen moiré, which is typical of a photo of a screen like this. The freeform Sharp displays (which is what Nintendo would be using) photographed at comparable angles show significant screen moiré.
Edit: not saying these observations completely debunk the possibility of it being real hardware, but if it were real, it'd be a stupidly expensive piece of hardware to manufacture. It'd have to be an IPS display or something with very high pixel density, which completely betrays Nintendo's philosophy on making hardware affordable.

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. The screen could be from the demo the system is running.
If this topic has proven anything, it's that the thirst is real.
So, it sounds like it could go either way then? Yeah, this pushes me more towards fake.
That looks cool, but if it's a handheld it wont have those handles/grips.
Of course I'm mad. I'm dying to hear actual info and see actual confirmed hardware instead of dealing with leaks and speculation. It's becoming painful.basically people mad there's leaks
You didn't need to explain yourself, you aren't in the wrong at all.
