looked very impressive

clubs vs clubs concept is really nice. I wont be surprised if they hired anyone from PGR team like everyone pointed out

I'm pretty certain Sony Headquarters are getting angry phone calls right now from Polyphony Digital.

Well, in all honesty, the lead of this studio was able to release 3 arcade-sim hybrids in the time it took for PD to release one full game and I hope this puts some fire under their butts.

Haven't read through the thread and Infos about this game, but do we know if they share assets (insanely detailed car models) with PD?
They'd be fools not to, they could save some serious money and time with the synergy effects.

I really like the concepts of this game and hope Evolution can deliver. Seriously needs bumper cam option though. I can't race without it and especially not in a competitive setting.

Yup, also 3rd person view - I like to look at my cars whilst driving them :D

I'm interested but will wait until closer to launch when some real direct capture stuff is out there, I want to avoid buying a system at launch but it all depends.

GT6 will be in a league of it's own but it will also be years from now unless they make a prologue version.

If this actually makes launch it'll be one of the titles I pick up. I wonder if we'll hear anything about a wheel with in the next few months. It may even end up being a bundle.

i thought that was what everyone wanted from GT5 no? :).

But I am sure they will have more than one view regardless... parts of it looked stunning, other parts just better than current gen :).

GT sells like crazy so it only makes sense for Evolution to go this path. Motorstorm was nice but too off-beat for big sales.

First one was a joke. Excellent concept and graphics but terrible content. Still amazingly fun. Second one is amazing. Too bad people didn't bought it after they felt ripped off with the first one. Apocalypse is beyond amazing too but no marketing, released during earthquake in japan and in the end, maybe 50k units sold in the US after 6 month delay and stealth release... Poor poor evolutions :( best racing series this gen

This was my Surprise of the Meeting. I was not expecting this game at all or the concept they talked about.

And now I can't wait and I want more info, more gameplay, more everything. I'm very curious about this and how it is going to sound (very important for racing games) and play.

Releasing this for launch is one less excuse for me to not get the PS4 Day one. Dangerous times for the wallet are coming I'm afraid.

I'm aware of that. Doesn't make the gameplay look like PGR though. It's like saying Uncharted will look like Gears of War if Cliffy were to join ND. I understand that Talbot will have influence on it, but quite frankly, there was very little to nothing in that trailer that made it stand out like a PGR game. The fact that there was no urban environment confuses me more about people seeing this as a PGR game. It looked like just another racer. Kind of reminded me of NFS: Shift and Forza Horizon.

The trailer had some pretty good audio. Granted, could just be some dubbing.
I certainly hope that Evolution has crafted some amazing car sounds for the game.

I can't wait to hear next gen audio in racing games. Games like NFS, FM5 and hopefully GT6 will sound phenomenal!

I think Sony should demand Gran Turismo 6 for late 2014.

I think they saved it for E3 same as few other games from studios like Naughty Dog or Ready at Dawn. GT6 Q1 2014 won't cannibalize Driveclub sales especially since it is more like PGR rather than GT.

I don't care for racing sims, so I can't really say anything on the game itself...

... But DriveClub is a pretty bad name. It sounds like a shovelware knockoff. I seriously laughed when he proudly stated that they trademarked it a decade ago. Like, really? Of all the possible game titles, DriveClub is the one that made you say, "Oh my god, we absolutely have to make sure nobody else gets that!"

Very happy to see this and hope it lives up to the promise. This is exactly what is needed to give PD a kick up the bum. If the game is great I won't have to care about PD's PS2 cars and clunky menus ever again.

This was the only game at the show that interested me - however I will wait until it's out first and see what everyone thinks of the physics.

Indeed fellow GAFFer! For me it's something that needs to be well done. It sounded good but I want more, I want to hear the engines turning on and off, the sound by speeding on a tunnel, everything that can make the game more intense. I usual turn the other effects down because the sound of the cars is all the music I need!

And I'm not even good at racing games! I just love to play them, GT5, Finished Forza 4, Horizon, some NFS's, Dirt, and so on.

To me this game looks to be more arcadey than GT. All we have seen are streets so far. Not a track in site.
I would love to have GT physics in a street racing game but I doubt that will happen since the generally population would probably expect a more accessible driving model.

There's nothing that special or hardcore about GT's physics that couldn't work in an open world game, Forza Horizon did it perfectly well.

Optional assists for babies or the physically impaired and it'd be good to go.

So is it a multiplayer only game?

If there is some kind of career mode I'll get it.

That's my question. The concept is fine, but I would still want to be able to progress through this in my own time, at my own pace, and not necessarily always online.

Definitely interested, but I need to hear more down the road ;)

This is the only thing that's got me worried.

The title suggests a multiplayer type of game so it's not looking to good...

There's something off with the graphics, the heavy DoF made the dashboard look blurry and the lightning was kinda blobby in places.

Other than that, I look forward to seeing it again.

Watched the presentation and still have little idea of what the game is actually like, beyond having cars and auto log in it. Remember hearing rumors some weeks ago that it's supposed to be PRG-y? For some reason I want to believe it has point to point racing.

Anyway, hope it's got a significant customization aspect. Makes racing games at least 24% more compelling. You can look it up on the internet.

I would be ok with some focus on Multiplayer BUT I need to have my Career to climb, my cars to unlock, my levels to unlock and so on. I like to play racing games in my own pace so I'm hoping for some Single Player side too. In fact, it's what I want the most of any Racing game.

I thought the detail on the cars was just insane.

It's alright. Turn 10's autovista cars look better....but I also assume DriveClub isn't near being polished off yet (obvious with the massive foliage pop-in).

As a racing (sim) fan I can't wait to see what we get from Forza 5 and GT on next gen.

I'll be honest... this is PGR with a new name.

Day 1 assuming Sony doesn't put online play behind a pay wall.

It didn't really seem too much like PGR to me. I don't think it will be as arcade-y, and seems to focus way more on 'car porn' than PGR did. It looks like it is going in its own direction.

wow you think a last gen car looked better ?? Not even GT's premium models look like that let alone smaller franchise

they have literally unlimited amount of ram to work with . they can come with a 2m poly per car

Its a lot less light PGR then I was expecting.

Thats great.

I hope it has more camera angles then just a cockpit view though. I hate cockpit view. I am a bumper cam guy.

I do hope they are going back and forth with PD trading car models. Sony doesnt need 2 teams modelling the same cars. PD are really dumb and close minded about that stuff though.

I know plenty of people like in car view, but I'm done with it until we get something that actually looks like what I really see when i'm sat in a car. If it's the only view this game has, I'm not going to touch it, and I say that as a fan of Evolution Studios, Forza Horizons and Criterions recent titles. If 2/5ths of the screen are dedicated to the roof of the car, it's kind of a waste of all that power.

my exactly thoughts.

(I always prefer a windshield view)

Sure. A racing game without multiplayer elements would be quite daft. But to base an entire game on that notion...?
Yeah, I don't know....

I guess we'll just have to wait and see..

I take it you have no clue what the Autovista cars are?

As a big motorstorm fan... I'm definitely excited for this. I love the fact that they're really pushing the "feel" of owning one of these cars. Lol @ the suede fabric changing depending on which way it's been brushed. We'll see, but sounds like the car details are going to be lovely. Realistically, this is not cannibalizing GT though - for one I imagine it will be more arcade based, and more importantly, does anyone realistically expect GT6 anytime within two years of launch? For real?

I would love to see this guys also make something offroad though. Maybe actually meet the expectations of the original Motorstorm reveal? ;)

What Gran Turismo was missing was a opening the car door and putting my seatbelt on. Yeah.

Strap in Master Chief!

You might not grasp this concept, but, doing exactly that makes the car more real. I don't get a sense of scale or the "reality" of the car when i'm playing a racing game - but watching that video of the driver (you) closing the engine compartment, opening the door and getting in the car etc really made me feel like i was there and it all just felt real.
