I like how you posted this after that big graph there. Guess Xbox is an overpriced fad too.
The mainstram audience won't shell out $1000I really thought RE7 VR would light shit up. It seemed like the perfect way to showcase the technology to a mainstream audience.
Full disclosure: this is completely ignorant speculation.
Did the market ever want VR? It seems like tech and game sites really wanted to convince us that we wanted it, but the content has really never been there.
When will companies realize that people don't like putting things on to experience media. Except maybe headphones, and that's arguable.

even if you have 4K VR it doesn't solve the mediocre software.
I bet next VR is game coming out next week is another Wave-base/shooting gallery #067
This wide stream penetration most expect out of the VR industry won't come to fruition until the 3rd iteration of the Vive/PSVR. When the HW will be very cheap to produce, the software plenty and the quality of all experiences downright amazing.
Yup yup. All in line with expectations from HMD makers/VR enthusiasts. This was the first real baby step for consumer level VR and we still got a long journey ahead. Literally the tip of the iceberg, I feel."Most" being press, I guess.
There's always been a huge disconnect between what the press and your typical gaming enthusiast expected and what headset makers and VR enthusiasts expected. Sales are in line with the latter.
This is good post. They even convinced me, so I bought Vive - and still regret it.
Nope, it hasn't stalled. If you think it has you aren't following related news.
It fizzled out about 10 times quicker than the 3D boom

I feel like at least on the Vive side it really needs some big budget heavy hitter titles to at least be announced. Seems like a bunch of people are working on games in secret, which makes it hard to get hyped for the future.
Why is the Vive the one always referenced? The Rift is just as capable now AND has better controllers.I feel like at least on the Vive side it really needs some big budget heavy hitter titles to at least be announced. Well, VR stuff isn't exactly making the gaming headlines.
What's hot right now?
