What's the point in a remake of this?
What if this was built on the latest version of Decima engine with ray traced GI, reflections and shadows like Avatar with virtualized geometry like nanite.

A test of their new tech while they go and built Horizon 3 for launch in 2028.

But if its just using HFW graphics then i agree, its the dumbest most stupidest thing they could do but Herman is the head of PS studios and hes not the smartest tool in the shed.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
First party games that don't have any licensing related issues leaving the marquee service is such a weird thing. Spider Man should've stayed on as well.

I mean, if it's free, whatever. This time could have been better spent bringing Infamous and other missing IPs into the modern era though.

I bet most people on here complaining will buy it, because that's exactly what has been happening all gen. It's going to be a visual blowout, and that's enough for a lot of people.

lol I am reading the reaction to this and all over the internet, the consensus is that this is not something ANYONE wants. Everyone thinks this is a gigantic waste of resources. No one wants to see it at the PS showcase let alone play it. How Sony ever greenlit this thing without doing any kind of focus testing or check for demand for this game is bizarre.

This just shows just how detached from reality or at least detached from their fanbase sony has become. They dont understand what we want. You dont need to be a genius to understand people dont want remakes. Let alone remakes of games that came out a few years ago.

It's not like these remakes are selling all that well. TLOU1 didnt even crack the NPD top 20 for the year and got beat by Smash Bros Ultimate. A 2018 title and Sonic fucking Frontiers. And thats a game that sold almost 20 million copies on the PS3 and PS4. Even Demon Souls remake which was fantastic and much needed only sold 2 million units. Meanwhile Elden Ring sold 20 million. Clearly the demand for remakes is 1/10th of new games. So why bother?

Everything to not make a new Infamous game...

If it will be a thing, this is the most worthless Remake in gaming history.

There's nothing to Remake, because a Remake implies that the Original had gems to be found in it, that could/needed to be expanded, experimented with, or exposed to the world (Meaning dated visuals or gameplay were stopping the game from reaching its full potential).

There's arguably nothing impressive about "Dollar Store Zelda Game".

- Same mediocre game design that you would expect from a Ubisolf game.

- The story and plot has absolutely nothing in it that would make it unique.

- Alloy's only character trait is being a copy and pasted "strong independent female protagonist".
The only difference between her and new Lara Croft, is that the people who made Alloy don't have a BDSM torture fetish.

- Spectacle, scenery porn, look so shiny! No interesting art direction to be found though, but look at the scenery!

All of this is subjective, so I'm sure people might disagree with me.

I just genuinely don't see  any point whatsoever in going back to Horizon Zero Dawn.

It was my goty over zelda that year. And yet i agree with you. There is no point in remaking this game.

Maybe in 10 years with new tech that would make it look like a movie, but even then id say just make horizon 4 with that tech. This is borderline retarded.

Horizon TV show / movie comes out and drives players towards Zero Dawn.

Horizon multiplayer game comes out and drives players towards Zero Dawn.

This requires minimal investment from PlayStation with potential for high reward.
Ah so instead of one remake of a mediocre game, we get to expand this into a crap series and equally shit multiplayer game. Fun.

Is Sony creatively bankrupt or what?

They seem to be remastering everything that's getting a show. My guess is when people eventually flood to the game after watching the show Sony wants the best possible version out there. Makes sense to me considering how well Fallout did after the show. Same with Witcher 3. You really want to wow people the first chance you get.

If you don't like the games that's fine but a lot of people do enjoy the series. It's my favorite new IP from Sony.

These remakes and remasters keep selling. So, someone in here is fucking guilty. Which one of you pricks keeps buying these damn things?! :messenger_angry:

I'm buying some of them. TLOU I bought. I've been wanting to replay it so the announcement came just in time.

Considering TLOU Part 1 remake revenue was great, and the TV show for Horizon is coming, Sony probably wants that easy money by releasing this in a time gaming costs are through the roof.

Another pointless remake and a game no one wants that will ultimately sell a lot, even if everyone complains about it. It'll probably release on PS5 and PC close to each other.
