Goalpost moving, eh?
Sure, there are several articles about other not galaxy dicovering gameplay mecahics. But based on open available trailers and the focus on the large world aspect there is no way to say if the game will deliever in all the other gameplay aspects.
It's completly natural to stay critical about that game until the first hand-ons or at least trailers with focus on other things.
Your original post said that people are being defensive because they can't accept that others don't find discovering new planets compelling, when that's not the case for the majority of us at all. Just want to make sure you're aware of that. It's fine that people want to wait to see gameplay to really judge and that people are being skeptical, but some people are just excited from the info we have, and it seems like an infinite wave of people keep coming in wondering why people are hyped about a game where "all you do is explore." (although some people are just hyped for the exploration aspect and may or may not be ignorant of the info released themselves. Not that anything is wrong with just being hyped for the exploration)
A lot of those comments are by people who somehow missed the multiple info topics we've had on NMS, yet come into every other NMS thread trashing the game because it's "only about exploration," which gets obnoxious at a point. It's not that criticism and people being skeptical or having different tastes is the issue here.
