Go type it into wikipedia.

Despite know full well what it is, I'm always fascinated by what Wikipedia turns up and it didn't disappoint; that entry has a lead to 'pegging'. That one was a riot.

Would the city have otherwise paid for their housing using public funds? It sounds like the city viewed the prepaid funeral arrangements as liquid assets that could be used for living expenses.

Yes, the city would otherwise have been obliged to pay for the housing. The Federal Court of Administration and the High Court of Administration in NRW both stated in 2003 that money that was put aside to be used for funeral arrangements up to about 3500 Euros per Person is part of the "untouchable funds" ("Schonvermögen" in german) of an individual person and therefore must not be touched by the welfare authorities in case of need.

My last pic looking normal before upcoming eye surgery (sorry for the flash):

What is the eye surgery for?

Are you getting a cyborg eye??
plz say yes

I wish it were something that cool. I'm having a pterygium removed (it's a benign growth thing on my left eye). Anyone with some calming words would be greatly appreciated!

Most surgeries are very routine these days. You'll do fine. :)

If I were you, I'd be hoping for the surgery to go wrong. Chicks with eye patches are ****ing hot.

I had the same surgery and can only see gray out of that eye, which goes red when I'm angry and allows me to see ghosts. Maybe the same will happen to you and we can fight crime.

god help you if you don't know I'm joking

Will you have to wear an eye patch afterwards?

Because if so, that's pretty hott.

My mom has two tumors in her back but fortunately both are benign.. I'm sure both her and your surgery will go swimmingly. :)

Thanks for the encouraging (and humorous) words guys. It actually does make me feel better :)

I actually do have to wear an eye patch after, but not sure for how long. I'm sure i'll drive my friends and family crazy with "Arrr mateys".

Hope your mother's surgery goes okay Meier :)

blech, I hate being trendy...

Gotta keep the thread going. I'll even continue the sepia theme...

Quick snap on the ride back from last night's System of a Down concert in Houston. They are incredible live. I have no idea why my neck looks so damn fat in this picture. My buddy and I were only slightly inebriated. Also, he's very hairy.

Thankfully towards the end of the show this was a fairly standard uniform for alot of the women. Crap Houston weather is good for something, I suppose...

And the pointless home-now-sleeping-in-my-pants picture...

I wanted to actually bring the camera TO the concert, but they were doing pretty thorough security checks at the gate and I didn't want to wind up leaving it with some guy only to hear "what camera?" as I'm leaving.

That's like the 10th time you've posted that picture.

What? I don't remember ever posting that picture. :-\ I've only posted my pic 3 or 4 times on the board total.

But I guess its flattering you remember.

That's the first time I've seen any picture of you, I like it! But it doesn't quite satisfy my curiousity, post some more pics :)
