Pretty sure they are leaving the gaming industry so they don't really give a fuck how many bridges they burn
Um... what?Glad I didn't download this! Fuck you very much, Konami.
I can see P.T on my download list on the web store (put my PS4 isn't plugged, and I'm at work so I can't remote-download it).
Did they remove it from everyone's download list? I'm in Australia.
I mean, sure, that's been made pretty clear. But you'd think they'd want to go out quietly, not guns blazing and setting every village and bridge on fire along the way. It's completely unprecedented in the industry.
Konami is so lucky they have mgsV coming out , any other game I wouldn't care
I'm being facetious.Um... what?
I do not know.Is the disc multi-language?
I'm glad I downloaded it last week. I'm really wondering if Konami is going to be developing another AAA title after MGSV any time soon.
I do not know.
IIRC, Konami deals with gambling and exercise stuff right?
You can do that now.I hope Sony will eventually add the ability to back up downloads to external hard drives
The response is a bit reactionary, but I can kinda see where they're coming from? The project no longer exists and as goofy as PT was it still aimed to be a teaser for Silent Hills. From Konami's perspective stripping it from the store is a means of removing what is essentially incorrect advertising.
Removing future downloads by people who already own it is the reactionary part and doesn't serve much of a point in my opinion. People who have it, have it, and will not do their best not to delete it. People who didn't have it couldn't once it was removed from the store. So...*shrug*.
Gouge it out.
i get it, but i just comes across really, really badly. i sort of understand the mentality of companies that perpetuate the existence of games they aren't even working on. if they really aren't working on silent hills, the confirmation of the game being cancelled and subsequent removal of PT from the store is "like-a-band-aid" approach of just ripping it off and taking the heat now as opposed to later. still it just comes across as a really, really poor business decision. console games still make them money, but apparently it's not "enough" money. burning bridges with very loyal gamers in is a very poor decision to make in the industry in which your brand is most visible.
I'll be shocked if they develop ANY game after mgsv
its a shame no new people will ever get a chance to play what is sadly the final version of SIlent Hills. thats your digital future btw, even tho you already own it you can't even download it... -_- thts why physical will always be where its at. Good thing I redownloaded PT incase this happened.
MGSV will be my last Konami purchase.
I don't believe myself either.

This should definitely serve as a cautionary tale for anyone looking to go all in on digital purchases.
People are blaming the "digital future"?
Without the "digital future", there would be no P.T in the first place.
I hope Sony will eventually add the ability to back up downloads to external hard drives because if you decide to upgrade your hard drive as of now, you will lose PT when you put in the new drive.
This would have been a perfectly fine disc-based demo in a magazine.
This would have been a perfectly fine disc-based demo in a magazine.
Could you imagine OPM bundling this, without telling people what it was?
magazines still exist? who's buying those?
Have delisted games ever been removed from "redownload lists" on any of the post-digital-distribution consoles, or is this the first instance?
Non-digital future = print magazines would be thriving still.
And that's why it will remain forever on my HDD.
And there goes the idea of upgrading to a bigger one. (Though honestly I probably wouldn't have anyway.)
