I've been mulling over all of this hatred for Sony discontinuing physical media in 2028. It doesn't bother me because I've been all digital since the PS4 days. But what I don't like is taking things like movies/tv show/games away from people who have paid good money for them. I could get a Switch 2 cheaper or try to get a Series X, but PlayStaton is where. 3/4 of my game collection is. I just don't know what to do. One big factor is I want to play GTA6 day one.

To me with its dependable hardware, multiple good exclusives (GT7, Ratchet, Spider, Horizon, God, Sack etc.) it's an easy decision

If you're tight on money, sure, but I'd say go PC. You get the most games and the best games. Sony hasn't had a "must buy" exclusive since 2015 in Bloodborne. The announced slate going forward doesn't change that.

If you're looking to play GTA 6 on Day 1, then PS5 or Xbox would be your only options, afaik.

It's hard to know whether PS or Xbox is a better choice for you without understanding your tastes, feelings about their individual lineups, etc.

I'll just throw in that if you're going to get a PS5, get a Pro if you can afford it. I'm sure GTA 6 will play better on that.

I don't have a PC and I'm very happy with my PS5 Pro.

I will be in no hurry for PS6 as I've got a huge backlog to play.

Oh I agree with you any self respecting human being decides for themselves, but most human beings don't decide things themself, and IMHO, Sony is ass, and I don't think they're worth supporting. Go PC.

Absolutely. I for one am pissed that they're cutting out physical, but regardless right now there's so much upcoming from GTA to Control to Valor Mortis, Wolverine, Phantom Blade 0 and so much more just in the next ~4 months it's actually crazy. Well worth buying for everything already out there and what's to come.

And right now Switch 2 is a decent buy and there's definitely a few games coming soon like Splatoon Raiders and Zelda OoT but for me personally I'd play through those games and be wondering what's next. They need a bigger library of exclusives first imo.

I got rid of mine years ago. I'm going to buy one close to GTA VI's release, return it when I'm done with the game and double dip on PC.

He literally says that he has a huge pre-existing PS library. It makes zero financial sense in this economy for him to go PC, unless he is willing to sail the high seas. These matters are usually subjective, but in this case yours is the objective right choice.
