Splinter Cell Remake info leaked

That all sounds good, glad they're getting around to it after the important cartoon show release.

The cartoon was an absolute insult. Black lesbian stroNCK independent foid fights 10 dudes at the same time, each weighing 3x as much as she does. Fisher is an old tired fuck. That's the Netflix experience for ya...

So basically Splinter Cell.
Just have the split, this was the coolest thing ever.

A writeup by DualShockers surrounding both the leak and current rumored state of the game.

The data-mined details are promising. The timeline is believable if uncertain. The state of the project is genuinely worrying. All three things can be true at the same time, and for Splinter Cell specifically, they probably are.

I wonder what they're going to do with original plot though. It's just not going to work in today's day and age for political reasons, unless they'll rewrite the whole thing with new villain, country etc.

Ubi already screwed up one remake and canceled it.

My question is, how do you even screw up a remake? The blueprint is there to copy and expand upon and you don't need that much extra or different.

I'm expecting another cancelation honestly. It's not going to sell like Hitman and not even Metal Gear Delta. But what alarms me more is how long its taking . Konami managed to have it get done and they've barely been involved in gaming for a decade. The only thing Ubi knows how to do anymore is make gay pride operators in Rainbow Six.

Maybe theyre working on a Sam Fisher Buttplug DLC Expansion Pack

Sucks to here, but I wouldn't even care if the cartoon was Edgerunners quality...because after all this time still no new game. Just more ancillary crap that no one was really asking for.

At this point it's gonna be too late to get Michael Ironside voicing Sam Fisher again, but I hope something good comes out the other side. Otherwise back to Chaos Theory.

"Non lethal choices expansion"

Yeah, one for modern gamers that.....

"Rather than resorting to violence—such as snapping necks or shooting enemies in the back of the head — the character Sam now approaches conflict through reasoned dialogue. He engages opponents in thoughtful discussions on mental health awareness and the complexities of global politics. Should those efforts prove ineffective, he may ultimately express his romantic interest as a final recourse"

I still don't believe Ubisoft will agree to this remake being a linear game. Several years back I didn't believe we'll get a new linear Mafia game from 2K, but this is modern Ubislop we're talking about.

- Non lethal choices expansion
- Linear
- Dynamic Light shooting
- Snow drop
- DirectX 12
- Light & dark Meter
- Sticky cameras & Gas grenades
- Manual Alarm shi
- Destructible Enviromental
- Pipe slide & zip line
- Shit

There was a formatting error in the original quote I think, so I cleaned up the list of features. Looks about right.

So it's just Splinter Cell but with modern graphics and controls? Because literally none of these features is new since the very first game.
Sounds good, why is it taking so long to make?

Sam: Code for the lock, NOW!
Guard: Sure, man, whatever you say! I hate this job anyway. It's 0604.
Sam: Not so fast, get in!
Lambert: What the hell are you doing? It's game over if you...
Sam: Eh, Lambert, you're talking like we're playing a video game. Don't worry, I'll make it fast, in and out, no one's gonna notice
Lambert: But your night vision goggles, Sam! Sam...?
Sam: ... Do it stealthy for me, nice and slow...

If you level up enough using real life money, you can make Sam, Samantha. From here them/they can suck their way to the end credits blowing everyone in sight.

The Splinter Cell creator said that stealth game are very hard do to on modern graphics and RTGI... This leak seems sus...
Former Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory creative director Clint Hocking believes modern graphics technology may actually be hurting stealth games instead of helping them. Speaking in an interview with FRVR, Hocking explained that older stealth games benefited from simpler "baked lighting," where shadows and safe areas were much clearer and easier for players to read.

According to Hocking, modern rendering techniques like ambient occlusion, diffuse lighting, and highly realistic illumination systems make it harder to instantly understand what is safe, what is dangerous, and where players can actually hide. He says stealth games depend heavily on readability, but modern environments are often designed to look realistic first instead of being visually optimized for stealth gameplay.

Hocking compared it to stage plays, where lighting is intentionally exaggerated to guide the audience, while modern games are trying so hard to look natural that they lose some of that clarity. He called it a "tough bridge to cross," especially after the industry spent decades chasing realism above everything else.

The timing is especially interesting with Ubisoft still quietly working on the Splinter Cell remake, a project that remains mostly hidden despite layoffs at Ubisoft Toronto earlier this year. Hocking himself also recently left Ubisoft after working on Assassin's Creed Hexe. Do you think modern stealth games lost something once graphics became hyper realistic?

Yeah, I was thinking the same. I could have guessed all that. Next leak will tell us we have to dodge cameras.

How tf is this remake taking so long?

Hopefully they avoid the temptation to add Mark & Execute to this remake.
Splinter Cell shouldn't be a "Cinematic Action Game".
