Do we know if there's a list of caveats for reviewers? Witcher 3 came with a long one which is why the technical issues didn't affect scores even though some of the issues still exist.

I was thinking of cancelling my preorder and now I think I will. Don't have the time for the game right now anyway so I can wait it out.

Can't decide whether I wanna play this on X1 or PC.
PC has a hitch with games lately thats annoying me right now,so probably X1 then.
Glad it runs well on both but may wait abit...cautious about day one open world games and buggy as shit stability.

I wouldn't base your expectations off of PS3 performance since the system architecture was a mess. Ultimately, the PS4 version will probably run better once they work out the kinks. I'm still most likely gonna get the x1 version cuz I have multiple x1's in my home.

This game will win GOTY awards left and right regardless of its performance. Kind of a shame because The Witcher 3 delivered the most beautiful open world game I have ever played this year.

The Witcher 3 had terrible lighting. Shade and shadows shouldn't be pitch black.

Depends on your platform. Framerate was never really an issue with the XB1 version.

Yes it was. X1 had serious frame pacing issues at release and made the game look much worst then the PS4 version. X1 version was running at higher frame rate but frame rate was all over the place making the game look very choppy, they did fixed that pretty fast. It took them longer to fix the FPS on PS4 that now runs more stable than the X1 version.

Ask that question about Journey.

The Witcher 3 wasn't only beautiful, but it delivered on almost every other aspect as well.

Except game play.. the combat and movement was bad, the quests were just a bunch of "help me and I'll tell you information" so you help and get directed to a different person who also says "help me and I'll tell you information" Game wasn't fun

Metal Gear Solid 5 also has incredibly barren environments with very few dynamic world events and last gen texture quality even on PC. They set a framerate goal and hit it but it came with many compromises.

there are points where there is a whole lot of shit going on in metal gear and it doesn't miss a beat. It's near flawless in the desert with nothing or during a full scale set piece battle. Also, fallout 4 looks last gen as fuck. It's completely obvious that it was a cross gen game for nearly all of it's development.

It's not though the leap from last gen to this gen is the smallest leap ever in consoles.
The leap is pretty standard, only problem is that it took 8 years to update the hardware and the jump was of a 5 year gen not of an 8.

Still the differences are very noticeable, especially with exclusives, if you are disappointed with how U4 and QB looks than I don't know what to say.

This is really sad man.

How is it sad? It is a collection of facts in support of an argument. I own a PS4 and an Xbox One and I will buy the game on whatever platform runs the game better, but if you're implying it's sad just because I'm saying something potentially positive about the Xbox One, that's the real tragedy.

That's true.

Also, in Fallout 4 big indoor environments are separated from outdoor ones. Talking about the game being open world and having tons of dynamic elements is no excuse for framedrops in a separate section of the game that's not open world and doesn't have tons of dynamic elements.

I feel like the game looks fine (it's not impressive but it's serviceable). I'm a lot more annoyed at the framedrops.

I'd need to play them and not just see demos, although Naughty Dog is just a special developer with some of the top tier talent in the world.

How come this game doesn't have an OT yet? I thought they were allowed a little bit before launch, was that a rule change?

You can't cancel a preorder on PSN? Sucks if true.

Not in the USA.

All things being equal, I'd get the Xbone version too. Fallout 3 is a nice bonus as well as getting mods first.

Day of now. It was a 24 hours, now it's day of. It was news to me too.

Side quests are the best I've seen in any open world RPG. Each one also told a remarkable and unpredictable story. I'm convinced at this point almost all open world games have the same concepts when it comes to side quests. Kill this target, deliver this, escort that, find XYZ, etc.

And as for the gameplay, I played it on the hardest difficulty. It was challenging enough to make the combat funner (you had to be more cautious and use everything at your disposal). Obviously the combat is no where near Booodborne level, but for an open world game, it's far superior to the combat in Skyrim. And also Gwent is one of the best mini games ever.

Witcher 3 is definitely my favorite game of the year and arguably one of the greatest games of all time.

I've played for around 6-7 hours on ps4 and the only thing I've had a problem with, besides the frame dips when action gets heavy (this one area with 5-10 ghouls busting out of the ground) was when a radiation storm(?) rolled in... EVERYTHING on the screen disappeared for 10-15 seconds and when it came back, it just felt like loading all of the textures took another 10 seconds. Pretty weird.

Shit, someone made a comparison between all three versions and it's not looking good...

It seems like you are connecting a marketing deal as some sort of evidence the XB1 version will be better performance wise which is the "sad" part.

Eh... There was one battle that I'd classify as big and it only had 4-5 tanks and 8-10 enemies per wave. Considering the game took place during the middle of the fucking Soviets invasion of Afghanistan I expected more. Like maybe 1 cross faction fight. It's impressive that the game was a locked 60 but nothing else(in terms of scale) in it was imo.

Maybe that's just what radiation storms are like? I don't know, I've never been in one.

I watched a lot of PS4 streams on YouTube today I really didn't see any frame rate problems ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Full scale battles involve a max of twenty-ish characters on screen and small explosions in an area that is still barren shit ain't impressive.

Are we going to pretend having better combat than Skyrim is a triumph? All that requires is having the enemies actually react. Also you do realize that gameplay wise the side quest are bog standard they get away with that purely through strength of writing.
