You upgrade the town hall by putting metal in it.

Thanks that's i'm referring. But you need a lot to increase the possibility of have more houses of humans.(residents)

And it's a conflict because you need minerals for build nearly everything in the game and if you are going to update the town hall your city can't build.

It's a problem, and penalize your city if you use the mineral to improve the town halls. How it is now is wrong for me and is not fair. First because the amount of minerals you need for increase the town hall is ridiculous high and the second one penalize your comrades of your city and cannot build.

They need to change the amount of minerals to increase the town hall with a much lower amount or something different for not being a conflict.

And the bonus for playing the beta for the final game how i know if i got it? I'm level 5 and completed the tutorial and i'm in a city.I need to do something more?

"Main Square"

"Commercial" Area

oh damn you're the town planner for mikhzhek? that's cool, i was on it last night
i've been trying to look for the church (the building that heals you), where is it?

I didn't have to get any licenses to use the pile driver or shoot weapons etc is that something you don't need if you use freeman dollars?
You need licences to buy glorious socialist workers tools/weapons/veh's from state sanctioned kiosks. Black market items obviously are a way to bypass state supervision and safety, plus being illegal they're pretty expensive vs state brought items.

so any word if the stats from the beta will carry over? It takes a long time to improve stats and I"m putting them into strength so I can carry more but I'm thinking "I really enjoy this" but if its gonna reset, I think I'm done for now. 10 to get an extra carry slot is A LOT of levelling.

Any idea on pricing?

The game is pretty difficult if you dont have a full team working together.

So played for about 3 hours. It'a actually surprisingly fun, but I can also see it getting stale fast. But short sessions once a week or so should be fine. Hopefully, it's not a full priced retail title. I want to own it, but full price is far too much.

The notice said you only have to complete the tutorial and make it to level 2. Then they send you an email letting you know you got the pension bonus, although I assume none of us are actually getting that email until after the beta is over.

yeah, the trolls are making things needlessly frustrating. i'm getting a lot of people snatching my light sources while i'm tunneling, leaving me in complete darkness to my death.

i'm also not a fan of how the netcode works. i feel like 50% of the time i go to pick up resources nothing happens, only for another player to suddenly poof in front of me and grab it, then teleport out again. over and over and over. to the point where i can't tell if it's a glitch in the game or if i'm being trolled.

i did find some solace in giant floating sushi floating in the sky. got to make good use of my jetpack, and we found the mother of all gold caches at the very top sushi. there was a mountain of it waiting in the loading area when the bus came. also streamed a little and got some good footage of fighting monsters, collecting resources, mining, building, shooting the smaller monster with my shotgun, fixing buildings, hopping on the treadmill, etc.

it's obscene how much time i spend on this game. i'm sad that the beta is over tomorrow. i hope they release it soon. :(

So do we know if there's going to be microtransactions in this?

The Freeman Dollars seems like something they would sell as microtransactions, since they're used to buy the tools that make the game go faster.

This was my thought as well. I know you can get a few dollars here and there, and they will probably have events or special log in bonuses, but it feels very much like the F2P model on mobile. I'm not sure if that means they will do PS+ and then freeman dollars as main revenue or if it's F2P with freeman dollars or if it's $ up front and then more $ afterwards.

Given how long it takes to do anything, I think it's likely it will be F2P with freeman micro transactions. It feels like the game is artificially slowed down (you level slowly, you mine slowly, etc) in the same way mobile games are.

they're quite generous with the FD/day - $1100 day 1, $1100 ish day 2. It doesn't feel like its Microtransactiony.

I think you're meant to play this over time - I was getting a bit irritated that my town was getting janked but the more you work, the better your girl gets so these incremental improvements will make the game easier over time.

The longterm appeal is really the city building. Its a shame so mucn of galnuk was destroyed yesterday. Game needs slides.

My town is completely abandonned and now run over by needle guys. Oh well. If anyone wants to see a city burn.

lol this game is so cool. Love the design and "story".

This is the closest to the PS1 LSD game i played lol.

Is there a way to enter your town? Or choose it ? I'm in Oktask lol

Wait, what's this about a bonus? Do members of the previous closed betas get this too or do I need to play this tomorrow?

Is it just me or are the loading times really bad going between towns?
I've been on this subway 3 minutes easy and the little dial thing in the corner only shows halfway done.
Normally loading times don't really bug me, but this is a bit much...
Probably just 'cause it's a beta.

Enjoying my time with the open beta. Glad there was a tutorial this time, as the closed beta didn't have one (that I recall) so you were left to figure everything out yourself. Killing a godzilla nearly single-handedly, jetpacking over to its downed body, then harvesting its head for resources is a pretty thrilling gameplay loop :)

Things were going pretty well until one island popped up that didn't produce any metal (that I could see), so things depleted pretty quickly. The person who hopped in a turret and fired on all our village didn't help either. Nor the person who kept using the dwindling resources to build dumb things like "N" signs instead of replacing the worker store that got blown up. Pickaxe broke, couldn't replace it, pretty much hosed. At least in Minecraft you could punch your way into more resources. Here if you have no tools you're stuck?

I made a mistake of spending all my Freeman dollars on rocket launchers instead of getting a vehicle license. Will have to do that tomorrow when they (presumably?) give us more Freeman dollars.

I remember seeing in some of Dylan's streams you could build bridges. How does one do that?

Anyone else find this game creepy looking? I find it puts me off whatever game there is behind it all.
Love the "uncanny valley" direction they took. Unsettling abstract look brings me home to old 3D games like starglider, jumping jack or virus.

The whole creepy doll them is so good :)

Just wait until an island pops up that has human-like features, and you have to carve out its face to get the resources inside :) ...

A couple of tips, just for GAF.

1. If you eat the glowing mushrooms, you glow.
2. If you manufacture and place a garbage can, you receive 11 credits every time someone uses it.

Just watched my 9 year old play it. She hopped on the train and it dropped her off at what looked like a moon with a face. This game is nightmare fuel and I don't like it at all. It's like they tried to make a game with anti appeal. I'm not sure what they are thinking to be honest.

Just dropping in to say hello and thanks to everyone for trying out the beta! There are still some surprises in store for the main game (which of course I can't reveal yet) so don't think of this as the full package.

Manning the Twitter guns solo this weekend so won't be able to pop in too frequently

I find it psychadelique a bit yeah. But love it lol.

There was a island with just ball like christmas ball xD with metal on top of them.

There is the face + atomic boomb place too, saw it 2 time.

This Beta has absolutely sold me on this game. The monster encounters can actually be super fun and intense, which isn't something I was expecting.

I was in this town that was low on turret ammo and we had a godzilla coming our way, after we used the last of our ammunition it still had about a third of its life left so me and a few other comrades started pelting it with RPGs til it went down right in the middle of town. The next few minutes were spent carving away its corpse from around our buildings.

I don't think their main target audience is a 9 year old kid. They are very strictly following a depressive USSR style and I think they got it spot on. Also the island you're talking about, unless I remember wrong, is based on this:

From a historical perspective it appears depressing, but at the time a lot of the work was created as radical new art forms that were supposed to represent and embolden the proletariat.

Ugly some troll is destroying infrastructure like the kiosks, ministry of labour, bins even the lovely development of walls and streets :(

It seems like there are a lot more destructive players this go round, as it is fully open. A few things to remember:

-Hold R1 to bring up the gesture bar, and choose Snub (the one with the thumbs down mark) to mark bad players.

-if a player receives 10 Snubs they'll be ejected from town. It can be difficult since players are not shown for very long, but if the person is using a turret which is usually the easiest way to damage buildings/people, they will be shown while using it. Additionally, one rocket launcher blast will take a turret out.

-Snubbed players can be caged with Immobilizers, which look different to snubbed players.

-Snubbed players turn blue, and the length of the defect depends on the extent of the damage/number of accumulated Snubs.

The measures are designed with some lenience and contingent on player agency to prevent punishing honest accidents too harshly, but there is always room for improvement.

Damn sad, I just restarted the beta today, wanted to see your work :-/
Where are all the players at GafTown ? Only 4 actually :-(

I just logged in and there's very little left. Was going to rebuild the electronics shop but I can't do the puzzles and have no freeman dollars left.

I appreciate that but to be honest I don't understand who the target audience is. That's ok as a game doesn't have to appeal to everyone I was just surprised by it when I played it. I just find something about the whole thing unsettling. I do hope that it finds an audience and is super successful.

My 9 year old wasn't put off by it.

Wait, what happened with GAFTown? There's almost no one and its missing a lot of stuff....

just check it, oh wow... we worked so hard yesterday....

Appreciate your comments. But I think there should be something else to prevent this, or just straight not being able to destroy builds with cannons or something. It feels too easy to troll a city and leave it without consequences (so he can't get snubbed) while others people have wasted days building it up.

I dunno.... but I feel really bummed right now having lost everything.

Loving the game btw! (if not I wouldn't have cared lol)

just found out you can kick resources lol
pressing triangle when near resources will kick it

so for maximum efficiency, put 3-4 into backpack depending on how many you can carry + 1 hand carry + 1 at least from kicking (if you're good probably can do 2-3)
