Ok, thanks. I asked because i went to the water purification center with Elma in the party after seeing a yellow icon, but nothing happened :\

I'll try with her out of the party now. Another thing: are they missable? If i get another yellow message, can i still do the one i found before?

I'm not sure if you can miss them.

The big spread sheet linked to in the first post has information about all heart to hearts in the "allies" category, including location and special requirements (like specific pets).

Thank you, I missed that :D

H.B. is the closest we will get to OG Xenoblade quotable stuff in battle.

I disagree. my main character says "I'm REALLY feeling it!" sometimes when I use a ranged art when it's flashing. I smile every time.

If only he'd also go "It's rain time!" when the rain starts. That would have been an awesome easter egg.

How does Heart to heart conversation work?

I tried Elma at afternoon at commercial distribution place. She's not there (Tried her with and without party)

Then tried Lin heart to heart conversation, she doesn't show up either at her hangar.

What am I missing exactly?

Do I have to have solo?

Some of them require a specific pet

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
At what point does this game pick up? I LOVED the wii game, basically right away I enjoyed it. Now I'm not very far into this one, but good lord is it dragging. Should I expect this for the whole game or is there a point if I keep truckin through it where it changes?

You have to be a bit more specific as to what is dragging for you to get a clear answer. Story, combat, quests, purpose? Not enough scripted melodrama to artificially hook the player as in the first game?

It's an open-world experience in every sense of the definition in that it provides free reign to absorb the content entirely at your own pace(outside of the occasional story quest-gating). You discover its qualities rather than having them forced upon you. If its a storybook you wish to partake in, its not exactly that type of game; though by Chapter 5 it will reveal enough purpose to inform the player whether its a continued experience they wish to continue to pursue or not, both in terms of narrative and game design.

Loving this game so far. I'm only level 15 so far, but I've had a blast. I do feel like I have to learn some stuff, still. I have a hard time picking what Arts & Skills to upgrade. I kinda wish there was an auto-upgrade button for allies as I don't always know what to pick for the rest of my crew members. And it takes forever.

Someone also told me having Lin in your party is important because she's required for a lot of missions. Same goes to Elma. But I prefer having Doug in my party instead of Lin. And I'm pretty sure they're both the same class, so it doesn't feel right to have Lin alongside him. My current party is my character (Samurai Gunner), Elma, Doug and Irina.

Also, does the color of the hexagonals mean anything on the world map? Red = high level enemies? And should I focus on revenue or mining probes this early in the game? And then focus iridium on AMs?

So many questions X_X

Spoilers for the Miracle Water sidequest.
Is there anyway to save the girl that's poisoning the reservoir? I asked her what was in the bottle and she just drank it and dropped dead. Guess I should have chose the other option

I believe if you detain her when given the option she'll survive, but I picked the other option and she died.

In terms of exploration the game does pick up after chapter 3, but not everything is reachable on foot :p.

You should definitely use Lin, she´s required for many quests so in the end you´ll be switching here on/off your team a lot...
The color of the Hexagons indicates the average strength of the enemies in the zone.
You will get many more Mining probes than Research ones, so the game will make the choice of which probes to use for you. Use Miranium for AMs mostly, but take a look at the other options in the AM terminal as you´ll also need some Miranium to design upgrades and new gear. I always invest all my Miranium in AMs and then when I look at the other options I have nothing left to create new gear XP

Hey you're from Europe, wanna check the kill count on Volkampf? :p

Really? I found them relatively easy to find. Then again I'm doing all the sidequests without really advancing the story. So I got my mechanical up really quickly.

I known there was one probe site hidden in a small cave in the side of a cliff that probably took me a good 45 minutes to find but other than that can't really think of any that are hard to reach. Especially the sides.

There were about 3 in North-Northeast Primordia that I just couldnt find. Walked around everywhere but no light anywhere. In one of the sections, the light was on top of a really high cliff. I assume I wont be able to go there until I get my Skell?

I'll post a screenshot when I'm back home of the probes I've having a hard time finding.

You can also increase your survey rate by opening big-time treasures when the segment indicates a treasure is located there.

Oh nice, I didnt know this either. Havent been trying to go after many treasures really.

1. Elma and Lin are required for story missions mainly, I advice you to change regulary at least the 4th member of your team while doing npcs quests, they will level up easely and not force you to go grind just for them.

2. Don't worry too much about arts, invest in what you think they need. You will get enough points to max most of their skills by the end of the game. Just be sure from time to time to change their skills bar, they get new skills. Character class :

Elma/Phog/Murderess are > a thief type character so evasion and crit is her strong points
Lin/L/H.B > tank character so DEF is their strong point
Irina/Mia/Celica > mage character
Gwin/Doug/Alexa/Lao > dps warrior

I forgot about other, sorry

3. About the colors of the segments from my memory from top to botton is : less dangerous to really dangerous zone
white
purple
green

From the manual
uKjN9xl.png

4. Did you do Krysty tutorial quest ? She will fill you in about the probes. If you did, well, basicly, place the probes where they're the most efficient and link them. If you're not sure, you can just let the normal probles that you placed.

If I change a probe, will it give the old one back to me or is it gone?
You get them back.

Just got to play the game for a couple of hrs. I did the intro area and then spent the rest of my hrs leveling up and looking for my upgraded armor set. Missing a left sleeve haha.

Game is awesome, its pretty amazing how much variety and wildlife it has, and this game will keep me busy for a while. Seriously... 2.5 hrs and all i did was fight.. then discovered i could level up and change skills... now i am focused on melee attacks and have to level that up.

Anyways.. some questions.

Where the heck do i find that left armor sleeve. I got most of the set from the crabs around the beach.

You level up based on the path you have chosen? so changing it resets the level for that? i think i keep an overall level, but i don't have as many skills as i unlocked with the default one. Making some of the battles harder now instead than easier.

The button prompts that you get is for doing chain combos perfectly right? giving you a chance to get a bonus?i just try to listen to what they are talking about and make sure i am nailing those to stagger and do more damage.

Hmm... Some people saying the game is a drag at the start... but seriously.. i am just fighting monsters. I have not made it to the ship yet. Its awesome. So many different monsters to check, and being able to break parts of them to get extra items is really nice. Reminds me a lot of MH.

Alright. I'll share some screens from my game time. But i do have another question. I save screens..where does it save them to? i checked my sd card after playing and they are not there. I have smash screens in there. Do i have to set up miiverse to save the screens there? I have access to my screens through miiverse.. and they are super small. :(

Anyways. Here.

CWR0RZTUkAE-qPH.png:large

This game is seriously pretty. I really love the art direction, and looking at the art book i can't wait to play with a mech.

CWR0Fu5UsAEnZSZ.png:large

My character, and pretty much my exact same face when the weather cleared up and it showed the open world. Man... can't wait to go exploring some more.

WVW69iqYhNsthsS_BK

I used to have all those skills and now i am back to 3 since i changed skill set. I want to do more damage, tho i was doing alright with that basic one. That monster was fun to fight. Also.. running and jumping in this game feels amazing! jumping really high places is pretty badass too!

anyways.. you can see the suit i am wearing in that last screen... i am still missing that darn left sleeve. So i figured i have to fight different monsters to get a drop on some different items. Or should i keep fighting the crabs? I might need a guide to find drops for this kind of stuff.

I saw there is a social aspect to this.. does it do something? i can share my wiiU user or if there is a doc to start adding people. It would be great to get more gaf into my wiiU and share stuff and what not.

Sorry for the long post lol

TL;DR game is awesome and i am having a blast.

I don't remember the name but it says "The Dream" Affinity Quest but I definitely just did recently (like 30 minutes ago) which is Irina Affinity Quest to unlock her.
Yeah, I'm fully aware of the name. I think I know the problem but I haven't tried it yet. I don't have yet Irina on my current team. I guess that's why the mission isn't showing up?

There are still a couple of lines like that - Frye has one or two memorable ones, for example; as well as L's idioms. Yelv's lines stick out for the wrong reason - he sort of reminds me of Shadow the Hedgehog.

Use whoever you want. Elma and Lin are required for the main story and many affinity quests, but leveling your underleveled party members is very quick since XP gain is exponential the more levels a character is below a killed enemy. Early in the game dump all your mirinium into AMs, you don't really need to use it for anything else other than the occassional sidequest until very late in the game (I'm 75 hours in and I've barely used it for anything else) unless you're the type to commit to exploiting every game system possible.

Yeah, to unlock Murdress you need to witness Irina cutscene where she will talk about Murdress then go to Murdress location with Irina and do the affinity mission.

Arts are tied to the weapons you use and the initial class (Drifter) give you Assault Rifle and Knife Arts but if you move, for example, to the Commando class you don't keep those arts since the Commando uses Dual Guns and Dual Swords.

Oh, and don't forget to level up your Arts to do more damage or reduce the cooldown period =3

If you have some trouble finding some missing piece of gear of a set you can buy them in Armory Alley inside the city.

1. Most of the equipement can be bought at the shop unless you're trying to complete a quest ?

2. You've a base level and a job level.
Job level will reset when you change class because you will get new skills.

3. If you're talking about the B button it allows you to give order to your teamates if you success. Otherwise when you respond to their other by clicking an highlenten button it will "boost your damage and heal you sometime".

4. Happy to know that you're enjoying the game and that some stuff remind you of MH :)

Be sure to do normal quests as much as you can, they will usually take you to zones of your level so just kill monsters on your way over there.

Wait, H.B. was one of the DLC chars in the japanese version?

I think that explains a lot.

Yup with those characters too

oh wow... didn't know i could level up the arts to reduce cooldown. that is deffo something i want to do. Where do i do that? skills menu?

And yes, i went to commando. Not sure if i like the double wielding guns just yet. I miss the AR. But the double swords are pretty fun.

Alright... i guess i'll make my way into the city lol.

Oh... so thats what the b prompt is. Usually i hear her or me say something about stagger... and use fire.. or heal and then it helps out to get a buff or something. I need to read some more on the skills to make sure i am using properly. Once i learned when to stagger to use that shot ability i was doing some good damage.

I like the breaking parts. its fun. i feel i am not just focusing on killing the monster. but more on making sure i am a bit more tactical to make sure i get the most of the monster. Having 5 monster pile up tho is crazy haha 6 level 2 bison looking monsters killed me because i had no healing skill after i switched to commando. Took down like 4 of them tho... cheeky bisons! i was tearing off their scalp looking heads haha.

Your level in that specific class stays the same, but arts you unlocked are based on your weapon. When you change a class often times the weapon type you use is changed as well so you can't use the arts you've unlocked. Maxing the level of the class at the top of the tree will unlock the weapon of that class for every class so if there is a weapon you really like you might want to aim for that class.

If you hit the home button you can go to the browser and use an image service like imgur to upload your pictures. They will be uploaded at full size and then you can grab them off your computer.

After almost 40 hours I'm ready to fly now.

The first time raising up into the air and flying to that mountain top I looked at for 40 hours but never managed to reach is just amazing.
I want to explore Primordia, Noctilum and Oblivia again now and still have two full continents I barely explored yet.

Having a rough time making money now that I have my skell.

My party is all 32ish and I am at ch8. Exploring costs tons of money because it is $80k each time my skell is destroyed. Leaving the game on overnight didn't help much.

Any tips for making money to keep operating?
