Daylight ready to scare your pants off on April 8

In a press release just issued by Zombie Studios, the release date of Daylight was finally revealed to be 8th April. The game will be available on PSN and Steam for $/€14.99/£11.99.

This is a very cool feature that we’re super stoked about. It’s no secret that Daylight is extremely friendly for the PS4’s “Share” button (ditto, PC streaming). The tinkerers at Zombie Studios found a way to use Twitch chat to cue in-game events. The example we’ve been tossing around (and is in no way final) is that someone watching a stream types the word “Meow” into the chat, which causes the game to make a corresponding sound of a cat. So yes. You can literally scare your friends now by watching the stream. There are two caveats to this:

1) They’re all on timers, so you can’t spam them. That would be ridiculous.
2) We’re not going to tell you the list of words. You’re going to have to find them through experimentation.

The PlayStation 4 and PC version of Daylight will be fully 3D compatible out of the box! 3D-enabled TVs and monitors will bring the scares, jumps and all other things that haunt the Mid Island area to life in a very tangible way. RealD3D is the same technology they use in movie theaters for 3D movies and excels at giving the game terrific depth-of-field. Catching an overhead light flicker down an incredibly long corridor is one of the more chilling 3D applications…until you come across a spirit, that is. If you have the means, we highly recommend giving this mode a try. Oh and rumor has that Daylight may be adapted to a consumer VR system in the near future, for those brave enough…

Sounds like the interaction with streams could be pretty cool though.

sounds really interesting especially for that price point.

naturally would want the PC version however the Chat feature for PS4 streaming sounds very kool.

I really hope this is as good as it looks. I managed to man up and get through Outlast but I have a feeling this game may be scarier than that.

I'm really looking forward to this one. I didn't know it supported 3D, that could be really cool. I will be giving that a try for sure.

What company do you work for so I can boycott it for what you say on the internet? Seems fair to me. Let's screw over innocent people and ruin lives cuz one guy was mean on the internet.

Daylight is rendered at 1080p. These guys must be retards to knowing waste resources to render the game at 1080p when noone can tell the difference.

It was kinda petty to bump this just for this, but yeah, in my case part of the reason of why I was interested on this was for supporting Anthony's game just as much as I started paying attention to Bioshock Infinite when Shaw Elliott got on board and the same on Mysims (Jeff Green). The game never looked like much in the first place, so I can afford to avoid supporting a former Brodeo member that decides to be a dick towards probably the place where his biggest audience is concentrated.

Plus by donating to his panhandling KS endavour I indirectly helped to bring Arthur Gies into the industry. Sucks to see a guy like this make this statements.

Loving the amount of horror games coming this gen compared to last. Between this, Outlast, Evil Within, and (hopefully) Routine this is shaping up to be a solid year for horror on my PS4.

Oh, this is the 3D compatible game... funny how half of the outlast is hitting ps+ thread turned into OMG it has 3D because one dude mentioned that it did without a source.

I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous. Internet or not, a person should be held accountable for the things they say. Why should one be exempt from anything they say just because they typed it rather than spoke it?

Oh, and obviously I won't be buying your game now. Perhaps I'm being too anal with my dollars...

Better question IMO: What do the personal remarks of one person have to do the quality of the content created by many?

Follow up: The NeoNazi are potential customers for Chevy. Would you be mad if a worker at Chevy literally insulted them after hearing one of the NeoNazi hate speeches?
I'm not calling anyone a nazi just making a point

"One play through is meant to only last around 30 minutes, but the game is meant to be played multiple times to get the whole story. More content is planned after the games release." Not sure how I feel about this
