Personally I think we should create a thread asking for answers. If the big websites will not do their job, then Neogaf is always a place which gets results.

As potential purchasers of the game surely it's our right to know what content will be on the disc before release. It may very well be that Respawn will reveal all next week, but if we don't ask know then before we know it release will be upon us and we'll be left with no option but to buy the game or not based on what we've seen so far.

It's fair to say that if you are paying £50/$50 for a game, you should know what you are getting for your money.

Why are you acting like there won't be any reviews available on launch day?

Sure, it would be nice to know everything ahead of time, but what really matters is what information is available when you can actually walk into the store and buy the game, and all will be known by then.

Nobody is forcing you to preorder the game before you know everything, unless you want a PC discount.

I don't get how Cboat was completely off. Them adding a couple more numbers doesn't change the fact that he was almost right. How is 792 better than 720p exactly? Do you really notice that 72 point difference? I don't think so. I don't think he has to die for this but it should just go down as he was just wrong.

wtf? Cboat wasn't "almost" right, he was completely off. His post specifically ruled out 792p and specifically said it'd be 720p. Two specific numbers, there's no room for misinterpretation.

Well personally I get the feeling that the embargo won't break until launch day. It's generally the case with much anticipated games.

Skipping the game because it looked fairly ass on my PC, don't have an Xbox One. Had hoped the graphics would improve for release.

Did you have fun playing it? Not that you have anything to explain to me or anyone else, I'm just curious about this sentiment. I, like everyone else, would love a maxed out, shiny, monster version of Titanfall, but I understand they had to make some sacrifices for 60fps multi-player gameplay. Hopefully by the time TitanFall 3 hits, we'll get that beauty as tech advances, for now, we have what we have. A fun game with great promise but without cutting edge graphics.

These things should evolve over time! (As long as they don't put it on a one year development cycle)

Worth noting he also said the game was launching with 16 maps. Dude may be batting 0 for Titanfall here.

Nothing to be excited about but it was clear since the beginning that Titanfall wouldn't be a next gen looker.
What is not clear is why Cboat committed suicide by claiming that they would backtrack on the improvements seen in the beta....that was really bold and nonsense ^^''

It's happened before. There's plenty of cases where early betas and demos had higher quality assets than the final games. That's been happening since at least PS2-era.

He won't be proven wrong until after the game releases. I don't trust any devs at their word, even for games that I am hyped about (and I couldn't give two flying shits about Titanfall).

If this was any other game people would be demanding to know what content they are getting for their cash and websites would be doing their best to find out. Neither of these things are happening and I just don't understand it.

Or just wait for a few hours for the first feedback/reviews to come ?
Before release, the game doesn't officially exist as a product, the publisher/devs do not owe us anything.
We don't have to turn anything into a demand, information will come soon enough. It's only 10 days.

Just hold off on buying the game until they do.

Not forced to buy it. I'm happy with the two maps they have shown us. They had my money after playing the beta.

But what of those who have pre-ordered online etc? These people are taking the chance that the game will be amazing based on what little we've seen. I hope they are not disappointed based on the content on the disc.

They had my money after the Activision lawsuit, but I'm glad the Beta made good on my expectations. :p

Not really, he also said it's 720p, so if it's not, he's wrong, that's a very clear claim that's easy to verify, I just don't think the texture statement is clear.

Fair enough. It's a shame that this is how it all happened for him but like Bish said, those are some serious claims that put his account in jeopardy and ultimately he was proven wrong on all accounts.

That is their fault then for buying something before doing the proper research or waiting for reviews to come out. I'm pre ordering it too..... if for some reason I get burned and the game sucks then its my fault for needing to jump on it asap the day it comes out.

I'm not sure if more time and tech advances are the issue. Notice how certain devs just make good looking games no matter what and others can't match that? If that was the case every game would look like a Crytek game.

Make no mistake Titanfall 2 and beyond will look better than the first one but whose to say it won't look bad compared to the games coming out around the same time?

Of course they don't "owe" us anything.

That doesn't mean we are not allowed to ask. It's up to them to decide what they want to reveal, and it's up to us to decide to buy or not with the amount of information given.

But let's call a spade a spade:

Embargoes, PR, marketing, and information disclosure exists for a reason. And it's absolutely a fact that this game's approach to information is very atypical.

I just want to know how the 360 version is.

Wow, I'm not a junior anymore... The Gods of Gaf have truly accepted me :)

Maybe they shouldn't preorder if they still have doubts on the value of the things for which they paid...

I enjoyed the beta, but I don't see myself buying this game at full price.

As good as it was, it still felt like it was missing something.

Has he? Have they announced the map count?

They've claimed it won't see a resolution reduction, but developers have certainly lied in the past.

I don't think any of the three claims have been disproved just yet.

I still don't know why CBOAT was doubling down on those claims. I had heard the same as him earlier in the week he originally posted but have heard they were working hard to improve it and the beta showed that. The doubling down is weird and hurts his credibility a lot.

I'm planning on buying it but it would be nice to know exactly what I'm getting considering it's a 60 dollar game that is multi only. Given the situation with Ground Zeroes I don't wanna get burned on a buy.

You're right. I guess I have lowered expectations for this genre.

I haven't read everything cboat wrote...but something about his info struck me as seeming not-very-objective. I guess hearing this news makes that seem a little more true.

I did say that the beta version looked like a 360 game, and I do think the texture quality was pretty terrible in the Xbone footage I saw. Not quite as bad as the PS2-quality textures that leaked out of the alpha, but certainly bad enough that I would put Titanfall among the worst looking Xbone exclusives (if you ignore Peggle 2).

I would also say that I don't believe the "alpha textures were 25% of the final build" claim, that number is far too low for what we got.

Considering it was in response to someone explaining why they personally liked about the XB1, it was an incredibly odd outburst. I've said this once before, but it read like an unnecessary retort to "shut someone down," more about ego than anything else.

It's annoying that one set of shaky remarks has resulted in so many seemingly pointless threads over the last week or so. A lot of conversation on both GAF and in the statements from devs just dispelling fake rumors.

Obama.gif sums it up perfectly.
CBOAT was wrong before, yet he still revealed a lot of stuff that was true. Its a little hit and miss but still better and more frequent than any other insider info.

Can´t wait for misterxmedia to pick this up though.

Excellent point. It is a little on the strange side.

I think especially on the X1, the idea of millions playing this game every night in November is a pipe dream. There is no "litmus test" because Titanfall is not the next call of duty. Yet. I feel sometimes people forget it took Call of duty 5 games, of consistant quality, and a total shake up of the formula before it became the sales juggernaut it is today. Not to mention the combined multiplat install base was several degress larger.

Whatever the future holds for the franchise, you cannot judge anything till the third or so game. Its going to make a very decent splash regardless. From there on, time will tell.
Every game, TF included, gets the benefit of being able to piggyback on CoD's innovation and features. Big difference between then and now.

Map count wasn't apart of that. It was Xbox Live Party and how Titanfall wouldn't use it, resolution and alpha test textures were final. Parties are fixed, Respawn has said the resolution isn't dropping (which we we'll see next week for sure) and the alpha textures as final were shown as wrong from the difference in the beta. If he was being vague on the texture side to just stir the pot then that doesn't really help his case.

But do we know they're using the fixed party system? If he said TF has it's own, the fact the XBO one is fixed doesn't prove him wrong.

To be clear, I'm not saying he is right or anything, but I don't see why he's been banned until we actually know this stuff for a fact.

So how many of you guys are going to get it on XB1. I mean especially the ones who have both, a capable PC and an Xbox One. In my case, i will be getting it on PC since i don't own an Xbox One and i don't really want to play it on X360.
Getting it on Xbox, and upgrading my PC and already bought it there. Not even remotely worried plunking down $100+ on this game, I know I'll get my value out of it.

There was an entire demonstration video showing off the revamped party chat system used with Titanfall the day before (same day, maybe?) there was the claim that it was an isolated system. The rumor was dead in the water.
