PAL Charts - Week 14, 2014

The game was released worldwide on March 21st and Sony has now announced that it managed to sell over one million copies during its first nine days at retail and on the PlayStation Store

If Sony announced that, shouldn't other gaming websites cover this story? I can't find any other website mentioning this.

What's their source for this? Not that I don't believe them, but....I don't believe them.

Seems like something would trumpet from the rooftops.

They say it's from Sony.

Yeap... that's why I opened here guys before start a thread.

Maybe it is a new Sony email to journalists... the official press release can be reveled late.

I don't get the hate. TFhas been the most fun I've had in years. CoD has become trash a d TF is a nice breath of fresh air. The game is brilliantly fun. I think people are more upset they can't play it on their console.
You're probably not far off there. Along with that there are some who just dont like that shooters are popular or the fact that MS moneyhatted the game to keep it off of other consoles upsets some. Still weird to ever want a good game to fail regardless IMO but oh well.

inFamous: Second Son seemed destined for success the moment it was unveiled during the PlayStation 4 reveal event thanks to its state-of-the-art visuals and enticing open-world gameplay.

The game was released worldwide on March 21st and Sony has now announced that it managed to sell over one million copies during its first nine days at retail and on the PlayStation Store. This makes it the fastest selling inFamous title to date despite the fact that the PS4′s install base is currently much lower than the PS3′s was when the first two inFamous games launched.

Let's just entertain this for a moment.

It's not unreasonable to think that I:SS might have sold 1m units when you factor in bundles, the standalone SKU and digital sales.

It's a believable claim, but I won't put much stock in it until I see some official PR from Sony.

I don't get the term moneyhat, isn't that the point of exclusives? Sony offer ND money to be exclusive etc or they buy a studio etc. I just don't get the hype. I'd like to play Infamous but I'm not hoping it bombs because I can't play it.

that would mean
14,3 - 15,4 % adoption

even higher, if we think about the sales after the 1 mio goal in 9 days

possible, but im not sure
would be a HUGE succes for infamous

Insiderp says it sold 1 million in 7 days.

If is true then Sony will release a press release or other sites will share the news today yet ;)

haha okay. thanks. so i really would like to know the secret sauce

I'm not interested in having the "hoping it fails" discussion but there's a difference between funding a game and paying to keep it off your competitors' platform.

From exclusive DLC, to marketing deals, to paying indies for exclusive/timed pub deals, there's money being thrown around everywhere from all directions and it's all the same/fair game/good business in my eyes. Some people just choose to voice their hate towards some things and not others. It's both dumb and hypocritical to a degree but....we are derailing a bit here as this is a sales thread :).

Infamous deserves its sales and no one should be shocked at it selling over a million. Good game.

isn't this what getting exclusives is? Yes I understand TF isn't X1 exclusive. It is what it is

it only is 11:20 EST time right now

usually press notices are after noon EST

could be wrong though

Edit: Also it is Sony PR... they run on there own extremely slow time

Nothing! I said nothing!
Let's see.

Someone wants Xbone and may or may not want Titanfall, he have two options:
1) The normal SKU
2) Titanfall bundle = The normal SKU and Titanfall

Both sold at the same price ( Titanfall bundle is actually having more discounts and promos).

So, guess which one he will buy.

No one (sane one) is going to buy The normal SKU when he can buy Titanfall bundle for the same (or less) and get Titanfall for free.

Even in the week TF released 30% of people got an XB1 without it being a TF bundle.

Sorry for the derail, I'm glad Titanfall seems to have legs and stays in top 5 since release though. Well see how April shapes if titanfall or infamous fall off the cliff or not.

Yeap... Sony site is always the last to publish the PR... the 3rd news sites receive the PR by email early... some GAFers receives these emails that's why I asked here.

So it is confirmed that Titanfall is a system seller for Xbox One.

Would also put it on course to becoming the best selling Infamous in the series if I'm not mistaken.

I kinda hope it's legit, it's a fantastic game and deserves to be a sales success for Sucker Punch.

I don't see a problem with Infamous being at 1M.
It likely sold around 100k in the UK so far and charted well everywhere. The only unknown in this respect is the US but I doubt it tanked.

3) Titanfall bundle is way more available than FIFA bundle, many store have Titanfall bundle and not the FIFA bundle, also FIFA bundles are leftovers from launch.
4) The same answer as before, Titanfall bundle are everywhere, not so much for special discounted normal SKU. And AFAIK Germany isn't UK.

Both of your options have very small market presence to make any difference.

And? 70% is still a big number, 30% could come from other deals and other bundles.

Even though I believe that Titanfall is Xbone system seller, what I wrote doesn't prove that.

now u start being funny
thats what i said, mister ;)

sure, but there are still guys out here, who think titanfall for xbox one didnt reach 1m, because of no pr from ms :D

Not sure what your point is now. If even 50% of the people who got TF wanted it, its still a great number.

My point is great part of Titanfall sales come from the bundle and I pointed that buying Titanfall bundle is the logical choice in many cases for the people wanting Xbone whether they have interest in Titanfall or not, so we don't know how many people bought it because they want it.

Would be interesting if Infamous already hit 1M although I guess it's been almost 3 weeks now

Not sure why that site would be the first to leak it though so I'll hold off until we get further confirmation

Real pity we won't be getting nordic charts anymore :(

Never knew we used to get irish charts too

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but if it's the percentage platform share of 100 games why aren't they integers? Or maybe it's accounting for multiplats, or is it based on sales numbers?
Edit: never mind I guess it must be sales.

Just because. It's the way how they do their diagramms. They also have different diagramms about publisher share in the top 100 and it probably makes sense to keep those comparable.
