I'm looking at Kindaichi chapters list and I'm noticing an interesting difference between it and Conan. Kindaichi's cases are generally between the range of 10-15 chapters. Conan on the other hand uses a standard 3 chapters per case which can sometimes increase by couple of chapters if it's a special event. Now I'm interested if the difference is due to more complex and elaborate cases and plans or if they spend more time on characterization and flashbacks.

By "end" I mean reach its "max" post count, which is 20,000 posts (jesus christ 20,000 posts about children's cartoons let that sink in). It's a soft cap for threads because NeoGAF's database starts to shit the bed once you go beyond that.

Fairy Tail Series 2 Episode 2 – The Eclipse Project

Felt like it dragged things out quite a bit or rather much more talking than usual for Fairy Tail. Eclipse part was the only thing of note.

I plan to one weekend and power marathon the manga then watch a few episodes a night of the anime to catch up. I like what I've seen of Conan it's just after the crazy bad addiction to One Piece anime that happened to me in 2012 (where I watched the entire at the time 550ish episodes in 6 weeks) I never want to do that again ever lol

This is probably a good way to handle it, rather than trying to rush through everything at once.

Even when I marathoned through the manga to get caught up with the series a few years back, it still took me a couple of months, particularly because of the wordiness of the chapters (and there's about 300 more chapters now than there were then).

Well some come via my early childhood (astro boy, gatchaman (well the us reversioning)), but I think maybe just as important as whats streaming is whats fansubbed.

Part of my unwillingness to tar the whole community is due to podcasts, like anime new world order, but I guess podcasters are like reviewers in terms of much more knowledgable so as to discuss things critically. And really I'm not sure lacking of knowledge/interest in foundational works is that different with anime than it is with other media.

How many here for instance could talk about say Citizen Kane without going to the internet? or have even watched it all.

I watched Citizen Kane and really hated it. Honrstly just wasnt feeling it. I like old movies, and will sit and watch ones I like for hours but this wasnt one. i understand its importance and respect what it did but if someone describes something as the citizen cane of (x) im not overly impressed.

Is it bad I get Date a Live and Love Live! confused?

Normally Love Live and Love lab get confused but I havent seen people confuse Date a Live with it.

I just lowered Vol. 18 of Case Closed to read this, haha. Having a case last that long is pretty interesting, but it sounds like it might end up being... plodding? I suppose it's all in how it's handled, but I always thought the Detective Conan manga was excellently paced. Perhaps Kindaichi is a bit less wordy than Case Closed? (as KuwabaraTheMan just pointed out)

I loved it, both as a piece of entertainment and as what it did for the medium in terms of technique. Unlike say DW Griffith, who I respect much more for the latter than the former.

It's over for me , for this episode i had a ample amount of jealousy , cuteness , pureness and just anything sakura trick , really.

Right now i'm not sure how we would handle a S2 if it happens since mitsuki-sempai is gone and the casting seem quite , how should i say this ? Thin ?
Maybe a school trip ? The bases for more are certainly there since we have the new student president and plenty of special things to do since there are A LOT OF EMPTY CLASSROOMS and most of the sub plot are still open.

I did like the pure mind of haruka & yuu in this final "trick".


Overall , Sakura trick was easily a 10/10 anime ..i loved everything in it , from start to finish and i'm quite open for more ..i don't think i'll ever be tired of this.

Nakama! I plan on doing a re-watch of this show very soon, it's just too good.

This was pretty awesome but it's obvious this is a sequel series and it feels like I jumped into a long running mystery series and missed a good chunk of this, so while this is on my to watch list it's going on my on hold list until I can watch the original series. What I saw from this is awesome though

Above average.
Just like mondaijitachi , i love the idea of characters going to a new foreign world and having no reason to go back to .. More they are enjoying their new status .

NGNL is no different with characters that are confronted to their best challenge yet.
And i like this aspect of this franchise ..now i have no idea how the author plans to make things more intresting but right now he has my attention.

I realise that many ( here in particular ) don't like characters that are too overpowered, too smart , powerfull , or too perfect.... but i don't mind seeing characters that are masters in their own field and are rolling with it.

In short , no game no life first episode is a solid 7/10 IMO... Nothing wrong with this show as it stands right now going by the first episode.

Saying something's good is a lot different from saying something's enjoyable. The former implies that the everything about it is enjoyable whereas the latter is more that whatever else can be said about it, you enjoyed it!

when I say something is good I think people know by now it means I enjoyed it. I react positively to things if they are cute but also to non-cute things that really struck a chord with me like Full Metal Panic. I dont just pigeonhole my interests to a set of parameters. I will watch all sorts of genres of anime if Im in the mood for it.

You have entire populations of anime fans now that don't even know what fansubs are as they existed in the 90s and even in the early 00s. Eventually they'll cease to exist all together as literally every single show in a season will be picked up by Crunchyroll and the like. Older classics in other mediums live on because they still get promoted and are still sold through digital marketplaces and are also physically preserved through discs.

Neither which is the case of the overwhelming majority of older anime titles. You have tons of great shows that have already faded through time as they've never been translated to English and never will be. You have tons of great shows that aren't available to legally watch anywhere and are dependent on both word of mouth through sub-communities on the internet to preserve for time and other folks to keep those shows available to actually watch as well.

Basically there will be a day when all old anime is dead as there will be no proof to show otherwise.

this is a frustrating truth. Its a challenge when I recommend older shows that a lot of newcomers dont know or care about but they really might enjoy.
i keep my library of dvds around and kind of wish I had some way of showing them to people. If anyone has any ideas pm me.
