Guys....I'm giddy with excitement. Please be true. God damn.

Are they going to pack them in a single release? For $50-$60? I find this hard to believe. And how are they going to handle the MP? Surely they can't put H2, H3 and H4 MP in there. Must be just H4 and the rest is SP.

Day 1 either way.

If Halo CEA's graphics are any indication, I'll just take the HD port.

In regards to MP, I'm thinking it'll be more like Halo 4 settings and gameplay on Halo 2 maps, which would be highly disappointing. An Xbone purchase may seem tempting if it is a straight Halo 2 MP port, though.
The great thing about CEA was that you could turn it off. It also added terminals, skulls, and an orchestrated soundtrack. All that, and multiplayer, is what I want.

If Halo 4 is the only thing they offer for MP then fuck this whole thing.

I hope MS didn't plan to end their E3 conference with this. This is gaming's worst kept secret right now so i would probably open the conference with this.

Wow... so how on earth would they handle multiplayer? I sure hope 2 3 and sure why not 4 have their MP components. But man that would split the numbers of those who buy it.

If i had a xbox one i would definitely buy this collection. MS really is starting to go all in and bringing some good stuff. Too bad they didn`t have the same approach for the hardware itself.

Mostly I just really hope we get the Anniversary edition of CE. I'd understand if Halo 2 is the OG version since they're going to be releasing Halo 2: Anniversary soon, I don't mind buying that seperately. I just really want all of the best versions of these games to be on XB1.

I love how transparent Microsoft's "Let's win back the gamers" positive energy before E3 campaign is. Dropping news, gameplay and announcements, making Phil Spencer the "good guy" (no gripe against him whatsoever) and all that stuff before E3. They'll have some pretty big things to announce on that stage then. Good for them, more hype, more excitement is always great. Fun times. :)

At this point I'm close to booking a ticket to see MS's E3 press conference in person. Surely with all the news that's been coming out before E3 has even begun, they're obviously planning to hand everyone in attendance a check for a million dollars. :p

they'd probably do 2's since it's the 10th anniversary.
The rest remake campaigns

This contradicts the ntkrnl leaked that there was a Halo 2 anniversary coming at the end of the year, this sounds quite different to just H2.

Halo 5 uses a new engine, so it seems unlikely they would have the time and resources to remake 4 entire games and/or port them to a new engine.

If this is coming, my bet would be that it was a few levels from each game which highlight just how awesome master chief was, all wrapped up as the missions being recalled by a military historian or more likely a computer archive.

They would then finish it up with a prologue mission for Halo 5 and maybe a few fave multiplayer maps serving a beta/demo for the full Halo 5 multiplayer.

and people complain about Nintendo using Mario to save their platforms ;)

Very interested in Halo 2 remake, I hope they arent just straight ports with a resolution bump.

I cursed MS after the DRM fiasco. I swore to never buy an X1 and encouraged others to do the same.

If this is true I think I will have to change course. Yes I will be a hypocrite but I will be a hypocrite with remastered Halo goodness all around me.

I always said it would take a lot for me to forgive MS, this just might be what breaks my will to fight.

Seems almost too good to be true.

Unless by remaster they mean just 1080p @ 60 FPS with nothing else changed.

Remaking 3-4 games, textures, lighting, etc. All in one package?

That's a shit ton of work.

Also what would it retail for? $150.00? More? I mean that would seem fair.

Unless of course it is just 1080p, 60fps.

In which case, still getting it of course, but less hyped.

This hasn't been officially announced yet. They could be saving it for E3.

Nah, you can't just copy / paste the maps from one game to another. And if they had one unified MP, my hype would be entirely dependent on which MP engine they went with. Each game has significant differences in MP.

The codinh shouldn't be too tough to between the three consoles, the architecture is similar, correct?

Thread title definitely needs "RUMOR" in it.
As does basically every article I've seen that cites the Engadget article, it hasn't been "revealed" so stop claiming it has been.

This combined with Sunset Overdrive could get me to buy a X1 this year. Hopefully it's true.

I think the leak said Halo 2 was a full remake but 1, 3 and 4 are all just 1080p60 remasters.

I doubt 343 would be making this. The article cites Certain Affinity and Saber Interactive which have helped with Halo development in the past.
