This is a very good point. Nice catch!
I'm only thinking of the move where Ike yells it out of course. The proof is still here though.

What the fuck are you talking about?
AND THIS THREAD TITLE MAKES MORE SENSE THAN IT EVER DID. HOLY SHIT. WHAT ARE THE ODDS. SELF-FULFILLING AS HELL

It's a lot easier for me to think about with a simple number of days. I went ahead and ran it through a calculator for anyone else that prefers to read it that way:
Thread 1: 56 days
Thread 2: 76 days
Thread 3: 63 days
Thread 4: 45 days
Thread 5: 46 days
Thread 6: 22 days
Thread 7: 38 days so far
Fake edit: Beaten pretty bad. Still, might as well post it.
If Chrom is in, he better not have Aether or it better be much different than Ike's Up b.
EDIT: in fact, I am pretty sure Chrom's Aether is visually distinct from Ike's in the Fire emblem universe.

His Aether will not go as high, and will go more horizontal compared to Ike's Aether.
Well this is what it looks like in game.

Remind you of another Ike attack?
Holy crap. The plot thickens..
His aether is literally quick draw. Chrom is either not playable or very much a different beast then he is in awakening. (Much like Ike is nothing like he is in his games)
He wants to defeat Greil through Ike, his comment makes senseI laughed tho
I am really having a hard time envisioning a diverse moveset for Chrom if he's in.

Don't worry I'm sure they can still find some different skills to set them apart.

Currently looking for more but I'm sure I'll run into stuff that will go into spoiler territory.
That would require the Black Knight to be playable in Smash too, I'm not getting my hopes up that high.
Considering we've got 700 posts left in this thread and this reveal I think we should go for a Fire Emblem related title for the next thread - A Song of Fire Emblem & Ice Climbers / A Song of Ike and Fire Emblem etc.
/Fire Emblem bias
same without adding Lucina as his support or giving him a Lance option in his moveset. Ike threw me off. lol I don't know who to expect more than ever but it will shock me if awakening is not represented in this game in some fashion. Sakurai got this.
Or, to use Acceptable Video Game Nomenclature: he's the Ken and Marth is the Ryu.
Did someone call him?

Either option would be really cool. I imagine Lucina as support would be tough to pull off for the 3DS' small screen but lance/sword wielding chrom would be legit

So for a complete Smash beginner, has Nintendo given word on tutorial modes/stages at all? Presumably there's a lot of combos to be learnt right?
It's not Tekken. Combo's in Smash Bros. are just well-timed attacks. It makes it more interesting than pre-programmed combos.

In smash brothers you build your own combos by stringing moves together, so combos are more emergent than a typical fighting game.
So you could do a neutral a jab combo that leads into a forward a smash attack. Or a grab into a downward throw into a down a smash attack.
You feel me?
It's more based around moving your character around the stage and just using the right move at the right time. For example, a prominent aspect of the series is knocking a foe off the ledge and then stopping them from grabbing onto it to get a KO. That doesn't require a combo, but it requires knowing how to move your character in a safe way. After trying SSFIV:3D, and DOA:3D, I'm relieved at this!
Is the difficultly then based around timing your string of attacks, what attacks to use against which character etc?
So, this came dangerously close to being the only main SSB4 thread without a character reveal, right? As if we didn't need more proof about Samurai reading GAF.

I'd much rather have Robin than Chrom at this point. But Anna would be GOAT.I'm now fully expecting Robin to be the Fire Emblem Awakening rep, if there is one at all.
What if he's a Pair Up character with Robin? Combining Ice Climber's gimmick (constant AI partner and powered up attacks if together) with Zelda's old thing (transformation into a whole different character). That way, they could represent multiple gameplay elements from Awakening and make the usual "blue haired sword wielder" much more unique.
All of em so far.

It's a very easy series to get started with, since its mechanics are intuitive (Knock people away from stage, try to stay on the stage). I know a lot of people (Including myself) who had no trouble learning Smash despite never playing another fighting game.
