Holy shit, i remember how bad those were.
Only designs i thought were good out of those games were kenshi, ashrah and frost. Everyone else looked like WoW rejects
I was not saying that Mortal Kombat had metal OSTs, but that if i have to choose between genres for a licensed song to put in a OST for a game like Mortal Kombat metal would be one of my first choices.
Maybe i'm wrong, but this is how i see things:
-real OSTs are made of instrumental only scores tailored for a certain scene/level.
-Rap's essence is text
-Metal's essence is music
I'm sure that there are hundreds of rap songs with beautiful "OST-like" melodies but imo searching for a rap song for a background song for a scene/level is like searching for a good story in fighting games, there are games like Mortal Kombat and Blazblue that have good story modes, but story is not the point of a fighting game.
Metal is not popular but imo with its obsession for guitar solos, complex riffs and long instrumental parts(and fighting/war/violence texts lol) is a good place to search for a licensed song for background music.
If the true aim is not a licensed song that works as a background music but something popular just for promotional purpose then more popular genres like pop, rock, rap and others are the places to search.

Just because they had a crossover Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm street are not the same franchise.
i cant help but think they would use an original series for the new game, they like surprises, and that just wouldn't be enough
Absolutely atrocious character design.
It looks like Photoshop work to me. The Subzero on the PS4 cover has the same outfit as Scorpion when in the trailer the Subzero has a different style altogether and actually one I like.
So, give me the Subzero we seen in the trailer and not the palette swapped PS4 cover fan art going around and being praised.

Plus Boon said it be showing the 3 days, 2 new chars.
I think im the only one who loves the Online talk, and the vibe im getting is the Online Lobby could be like a Conquest mode, create your God and roam the Realms
as an RPG setting.
Being able to walk over to someone and challenge to a Fight, go to Big gladiator stadiums for KOTH, go to Dojo's for Online Practice and user created combo challenges,
Find Collectables and easter Eggs, maybe have an online Krypt.
Instead of a Player Card setting, you get new Items, Clothes and Emotes to show how high of a level you are
and as Rank you rank up, you can access more Higher Realms.
,,,,,,Okay im getting ahead of myself here, but you get the idea a Conquest RPG type of Multiplayer Lobby.

i just hope that ermac render isnt real. reminds me of MK5- armageddon. such times of horrible art direction and crappy new characters. my god i cant get those memories out of my head. not to say MK9 was a breath of fresh air. the main costumes were still excessive and ermac still looked like an out of place grunt.
get back to the basics. palette swaps and creepy ass music. those were the days when i feared picking up the controller but couldnt put it down at the same time.
if a character can outdo his appearance ,then your cooking with grease. that was what MK1-3 did easily. everything after was excessive and a complete failure. MK9 was a step in the right direction technically. but from a presentation standpoint, it was a leftover stain from DA through armageddon.

4.2 is out this week, and 4.3 will be out in a month, maybe we will get UE5 next year and devs still use UE3. Lol!

Man I'm so hyped for this game. At this point it's definitely the game I'm most looking forward to seeing at E3. It won't look anywhere as good as this trailer, but still I expect it to look and play damn good. Really interested in seeing how they're going to be implementing the environmental and weapon gameplay.

Seriously Test Your Luck in MK9 was the best thing ever. It was a travesty that you could only play it locally and not online. Easily the most fun way to play Mortal Kombat multiplayer.

Seeing this reminds me how much potential this franchise has, yet somehow always seems to fall short of expectations, at least for me. I hope they can finally get the feel of the combat correct. It has always been kind of clunky compared to SNK or Capcom fighters. Nevertheless, I own most if not all of the MK-series and I am looking forward to see gameplay trailers and such for this new title.
