Its a terrible argument. Like fans are just obliged to buy all the mediocre Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Command games just because they have Star Fox in the title. Like its the fans fault you decided to make a game that wasn't like everyone's favorite entry in the series, Star Fox 64/Star Fox 2

"Gee whiz, people didn't buy DmC, I guess we can just cancel DMC5 and future installments, fans just don't want more Devil May Cry games! No other logical conclusion can be drawn from this turn of events!"
You're absolutely right.

Still, I think it's understandable to be excited that Nintendo is working on Star Fox.

It has more of a chance of being good than if it weren't being made at all.

Bloodborne looked lame as hell, to people like me who's not a fan of the Souls games. I thought no mans sky and abku looked much more interesting.

Bloodborne was a crappy CGI trailer probably one of the worst ways to announce the thing. Even the Project Beasts images and gifs brought more hype.

Considering that Nintendo doesn't have a proper conference, woild they really be mad about this?

I mean, publicity in Time is pretty nice. It's not like the story came out a week early, it's the same day as the conference. A big splash is nice, but who really cares?

No Man's Sky was revealed at the VGX, so it couldn't be a showstopper. Abku looks to be Journey 2.0: Underwater Edition, so I can't say I'm excited for it.

Bloodborne was going to be their big "One more thing" and it would have been awesome if some asshole hadn't leaked it early.

I love how everyone at first is like "hell yeahhhhhh, super glad to see Star Fox back!" then as the thread progresses some pessimistic guys start posting about how Wii U is so much dead and how they need to stop doing experiments when in reality this are precisely the type of games that Wii U needs in order to showcase perfectly what the Gamepad can do and what makes it unique from the other consoles. And of course, if you don't like those control schemes, I'm sure is going to be an option to control it "traditionally" with the Pro controller. Nintendo is known for allow different control option on their 1st party games. It should be all good!

I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or not but regardless it made me chuckle.

They could've brought a stick to E3 and said "This is the new stick™ we've researched and developed" and i would still want to play with it.
Throw the damn stick already, i'll chase it.

You don't like hearing exciting news?

I love exciting news, but a title and still image of a game I didn't expect to see at all, that's going to be announced in 30 minutes or so....just kind of detracts from the fun of it, that's all. Especially since the lack of information has caused a lot of people to predict that the game will be the worst thing imaginable.

but from what i've read, it's basically the sin and punishment 2 control scheme.
we're getting sin and punishment 2: 2!

the other 2 projects honestly just sound like tech demos. which is fine, except it's not 2012 anymore.

What does HD have to do with it? Xenoblade is still a 'AAA' game, and one of many new 'IPs' that Nintendo supposedly never does.

It's just "known" that with the HD era, devs took less risks. The fact Nintendo released a new IP in a pre-HD era doesn't matter as much, AAA games like that were released all the time with that gen of specs.

I'm talking about this and last year's Nintendo. It just makes sense not to go AAA on all their new ideas, ideas that are controversial amongst the hardcore crowd that knows about them and might not even take off. If there's one thing Nintendo needs to take note of and work around (amongst many other things) it's the cynicism held over its experiments. Not saying you won't get stuff like Wonderful 101 still, but it's completely reasonable for Nintendo to be a bit low-budget on some of these experimental ideas.

Far from the worst. Keep in mind we had the project spark trailer earlier that day. Look up in a dictionary the worst way to announce something and that would be it. I think we will hear more about Bloodbourne behind closed doors and see more at TGS but the game is obviously a year away so I am not expecting much until then.

That is enough getting off topic. Doing a U turn back into Starfox. I am secretly hoping this game has 4-5 player co-op.

Nobody would play Slippy lol.

Wow.... cool beans! never played the star fox series.

the other two games i'm hoping it's not one of miyamoto's fps game.

the most i'm looking forward is Zelda U and hopefully Metroid announcement but keeping my expectation real low on dat one.

Miyamoto and upper-branch pretty much decided on this model sometime ago. Steel Diver: Subwars. I think it is the future of niche Nintendo franchises. All the big party games retail, the Nintendo otaku stuff straight digital subscription more or less.
Well, as long as the business model is reasonable, I ain't complaining. If we can get less popular IPs in cheaper, fun packages, I imagine they could be quite palatable to the consumer. Episodic gaming is a business model that I've been hoping more developers adopt, because there's so much potential in it, and I'm utterly giddy that Miyamoto is doing it.

It feels like Nintendo is just checking boxes lately, and are surprised when people aren't falling for it.

What do you mean you want a Zelda game?! We're giving you two: WWHD and Musou!
We've got a weird episodic Star Fox coming! You guys like Star Fox, right?!

It's just not what people actually want.

Except nobody thinks.. maybe this was leak cause it's small and is NOT at the Nintendo direct .. ?

You don't understand the difference between gyroscopic controls and pointer controls?
Remember, this is a control scheme that was supposedly impossible to do on the Wii since they worked on it for 4-6 years with no results.

It was awful perhaps not literally the worst but still awful.

Uh, that game supports GamePad, Wii Remote and Pro controller.

Mario Kart 8 also has a shit-ton of controller options.

Nintendo revive old 1st party IP's!

*Nintendo revives IP's*

That's good Nintendo but they won't sell on your underperforming system! Boohoo on you!

Yeah I don't get it either.

wait, i thought the gamepad had pointer controls. oh no. my dreams have been shattered. so the controls will be more similar to controlling Samus's gunship in Nintendoland...
shit.
