Got an Xbone with some credit. Haven't opened it yet. Been looking at most of the games available and I'm debating just returning it. I have a Wii U and a PS4. I really want crackdown but I'm thinking it might be worth waiting till at least Halo is out. It seems like all the multiplatform games are better on the ps4.

Not sure what to do at this point.

Return it and buy it when the inevitable halo bundle comes, which will save you money since you're not going to play it much right now (unless you're hankering for Titanfall)

That can go both ways pal. Just got my xbox today and three were sold before my turn in line. Looks like a lot of people are taking advantage of the 50 % credit for old systems. Different areas, different situations.

Having just traded my PS3 in I was able to unload my worthless PS3 titles (and a couple 360 ones) for $150 in credit. These are games that would never sell on eBay, and probably not even fetch $2 at GameStop.
The catch is there's a 5 game limit, and you must preorder a game. I wound up preordering Sunset Overdrive, Halo Collection, and Forza Horizon 2. The latter two come with bonus $10 gift cards with preorder.

The price drop can't be expected to make that huge of a difference, it needs to be coupled with games. I would imagine the Master Chief bundle(especially if they make a Halo themed XB1) will fly off the shelves.

I just bought the $399 One from gamestop Friday. Now that GTAV and TLOU are on the way to ps4 I traded in my ps3. After using the PS4 since launch the Xbox One UI feels sluggish and too busy and I have run into a lot of bugs. I am really enjoying dead rising 3 though.

I think his point was that Microsoft is doing a lot since launch to make the xbox one more suited to gamers and it's x360 fanbase. This is different than what Y2K was talking about if I understand. He was talking about how in general wishing 2 competing products sell the same amount isn't good cause that doesn't take into account of bad products.

That's not how I took his post at all. It sounded more like he was hoping MS sells millions in order to create competition and that their failure to do so would somehow lead us to a situation where we don't have competition.

That doesn't make any sense at all, he says it's irrelevant to the consumer, then says if one doesn't sell well it deserves to fail.. that part would be pretty relevant to the consumer, no? Nobody wants another Dreamcast mid-gen on their hands (not talking about games, those were awesome).

I do realize I'm losing out on PS3 Plus titles, but I'm still getting Vita and PS4 titles which matter to me more. I also like that Microsoft is competing on that front, and at least I'll be able to keep my free 360 games.

I don't think Microsoft has a chance of catching up monthly until they release some more exclusive games. And I don't think what was shown at E3 has the power to make a difference in 2014. They really need to lock up one or two more big budget games from third parties to get gamers attention. After Sunset Overdrive, my Xbox One will be quite lonely for awhile.

I'm still having a hard time figuring out if they money hatted Magic the Gathering on consoles or not. If they had, you would think it would have been mentioned in the conference.

WiiU is outselling PS4 in gamestop best seller list. There are two WiiU SKUs in the top 75.

WiiU: 40, 60
PS4: 48
Xbone: 80, 150

The new price point won't close the gap and probably won't provide much of a bump in sales until MS provides further incentives to pick up the box at that price. Include a game (READ: HALO YOU FOOLS) or make it a special edition, extra controller, anything to make the $399 price point more attractive. As it is now, it's pretty barebones and isn't much of a deal.

My thoughts so far...

- Controller isn't as good as a DS4. Feels cheap.

Agreed with most everything you said but this, as I feel the exact opposite! The XBO's controller feels like a much higher quality controller to me with better materials and a much more comfortable fit. But hey, opinions!

My thoughts so far...

- system froze during the initial update when getting started.
- install times are abysmal. Even PS3 was faster.
- UI is too congested and busy. I much prefer Sony's simple and uncluttered UI, which I find far easier to navigate, and do what I'd like to do.
- Start is now three horizontal lines? The back button is like a window within a window? What is that shit?
+ games are good! I feel like I have a better variety of games to pick from. Sony has more indies, but I don't give two shits about most of them.
+ QR codes fucking rock! I loved redeeming Forza 5 by holding the QR code up to Kinect. Sure beats entering those ultra lengthy codes!
+ GwG trying to compete with Plus. I like that I at least get to keep my 360 titles. Getting Dark Souls right off the bat, and Street Fighter 4 AE next is a great thing!

Not even getting into resolutions and frame rates. Ryse is the most impressive game I've seen yet. A true jaw dropper to show off the hardware!

Naw, I wait till the game's I want appear. I love UC (my favorite series of last gen) and GOW, so I am looking at waiting till late 2015 to even consider PS4.

How can you reverse a "games advantage"? Both systems are going to offer plenty of exclusives. If you want to enjoy them all then you naturally would want both.
I'm frothing at the mouth for Bloodborne, but I'm also excited for Sunset Overdrive y'know? It's about enjoying games, not playing console wars.

Yeah, MCC collection is probably going to be bigger than *most* people think, but smaller than the hardcore playerbase thinks it will be.

It *will* move systems, that much is virtually guaranteed.

I didn't see he talking about sales parity. Of course sales parity is bad, now that MS is falling behind, it really needs to step it up, or they will fall even more. This situation hopefully forces them to work much harder for gamers attention. And on the other hand, I understand why Xbox One owner wants One to sell well, cos sales affect to the state of the online community, exclusives and quality of multiplats.
