Congrats to the Spurs and their fans.
It feels good to have my soul restored after the mind numbing defeat of last year.

Miami isn't an ISO offense tho

They are an Iso offense. They revolve around Lebron. Most sets they wait for him to make a move and hope he gets a double team so they can get an open shot. Sometimes guys cut when there is an obvious path to the basket(which shouldn't be the only reason you cut). Or they run horns for Ray Allen, Wade, or Lebron. Sometimes Wade Iso's on the perimeter or posts. They are literally no different than most of the teams in the NBA. So teams run their offense faster or slower, but that's about it. They have 3 elite or near elite Iso players so they can work it better than anyone else.

The NBA has shit parity, the absolute worst.

Everyone knows that.

If they were to change the playoffs, that would be the League's admitting to what everyone already knows, which would be surprising.

Do any NBA GAF regulars remember this beauty?

Still feeling so happy that Miami lost, but it always sucks to be without any basketball or football until the fall. The World Cup is a good substitute, though England ain't doing shit this year it looks like =[

No more conferences, just Top 16, Best Record = Seeding
That's something owners would have to vote on, isn't it? I don't think they'd go for that.

Also, as I said, I don't think the League as a whole would admit to the lack of parity, which that kind of move would represent.

we're in heaven breh,embrace it.

These have been my favorite Spurs playoffs since the first with Avery hitting that baseline shot. Beating rival Mavs, little bro Blazers, worst matchup OKC, and best player in the game Heat. It's been incredibly satisfying throughout.

It'a going to be a long 4 months. Hopefully the MLB (lol) can fill the void..

I agree wholeheartedly with this post. Though I feel like the OKC series was the sweetest.

Heat losing, nba season ending, long ass wait for the next GoT episode.. my sunday has been bad. Waking up tomorrow morning will be a struggle...

Lets hope wade takes a pay cut. Im not blaming him, but hes not that guy anymore. They all said they all sacrificed to win. Now they gotta do it all again.

It was one heck of a road to chip. Spurs was just that much better than everyone else. I think timmy will comeback. I see no west teams catching up to that kind of basketball the spurs play next season.

Edit: off season OT will be up Tuesday!

I don't care how they do it, just as long as the Big3 is back. The rest is gravy. World Cup is my security blanket. Team USA tomorrow gives me a welcome distraction. PEACE.

I really am shocked at how well I'm taking this. Lebatard was right- even the losing is "fun" in the sense that I haven't been this invested about any sports team like this in my whole life. It's all fascinating and frustrating and interesting- and so fla hasn't ever had anything quite like this since the 70s.

Love this team. So grateful for the last 4 years.

2011 was definitely worse, because the team was unproven. This year, I know this team is champion quality, and this loss was just revenge for last year. It's a lot easier to swallow this year. I'm ready for free agency and the draft. I was ready for next year with about 5 minutes left in the 4th. LOL.

Canes were an interesting phenomenon. They really were kings of the college world, and had an us against the world dynamic like the Heat, but that's the closest I can think. I just love that I can have confidence in the organization making the right moves for the future. We can't say that about any other team down here. PEACE.

I think he'll remember his game 6 shot more than a rafter jersey.

And let's be real. Miami will retire his jersey. We'll retire anyone's.

He probably will, but Miami is a disgrace of a basketball town, KG and Pierce will forever be legends here, and ray was and would've been as well. I bet he could walk around miami without a single person knowing who he was or what he did.

Ehh that's one way, but he sacrificed getting his number retired.
If Seattle or Milwaukee don't retire his jersey, I'd be glad for us to do it. Assuming he gives us another couple seasons and we title again in that time, hell yeah. He hot the biggest shot in NBA history. Actually, my suggestion is to put a #34 decal on the court in the same corner he hit that 3. I don't know of the NBA would allow that though. PEACE.

Time will heal that wound. Boston will still retire his number with the other two.

Man. I hope we are able to re-sign Patty Mills. He might have played himself into a starting position and contract with another team.
Patty Mills could start on at least a dozen teams, including Miami.

I hope he sticks around. Parker will start for another two or three years, but then Mills could take over, and he'd have Leonard and Green and Splitter still, maybe Diaw.

Another couple seasons? He's about to turn 39... I mean Ray is in incredible shape, but he's already a massive liability on defense.

edit-

That would be a real shame, and I doubt it.

If you raise someone's jersey in an arena where the fans don't care. Does it still exist?

Exactly.

You've clearly learned everything you know about Miami from people who've never been to Miami. I've spent a summer in Boston.

...

Enjoy Boston. PEACE.

I've been to miami... I also saw the parade after the championship, I also see the fans emptying out in the 3rd quarter.

Damn, reporters need to get their crap together:

"Hey, Manu, Chris Bosh said this was the best Miami Heat team he played against. Do you agree this is the best Spurs team you've been a part of?"

At least one of these claims isn't true. Why bother making stuff up? I love how people love to trash Miami, but making shit up about us won't make where you live suddenly as awesome as where we live. I don't see any Heat fans trashing fans of any other city. Why should we care? As Kanye would say, "Because my life is dope, and I do dope shit." No one's seen anything at Miami sports events that they don't see anywhere else in the country, except a higher concentration of beautiful women. And we're never apologizing for that. PEACE.

yea some of these reporters...ugh

there was one dude who was just on Lebron's Dick. Kept asking Pop and other spurs players how Lebron felt, etc...like WHY SHOULD THEY GIVE A SHIT?!

Leonard and Mills are the rising stars of the Spurs. Hopefully Mills comes back since he can still learn a lot from Tony, and potentially have the baton passed down to him.

I've never seen a fanbase boo their own team in the NBA finals in what they knew could be their last game.

I've never seen a fanbase leave at the end of the 3rd quarter in what they knew could be their last game. Leave a team that gave them four years of playoff runs.

I've never seen Charles Barkley show such open disdain for a fanbase and call them fake fans.

I've never seen fans leave a game and then try to rush back in when they realize how big of a mistake they made.

Those are all exclusive to Miami, among other things. There's always gonna be actual die hard fans but these 4 years have been indefensible and downright shameful displays. The fact that no one on the team called out this bullshit shows that they either don't care about fans and are just there to win rings or they didn't have the guts to do it.
