didn't know this collection was as big of a deal till i saw a bunch of grown ass men freaking out in their live reaction videos

I think a good amount of people would pay $60 just to be able to play Halo Combat Evolved over a match making system for the first time ever. I know I would have. Everything else adds to the value. A really great package, and 100% worth the cash.

nah I won't ever touch them either unless achievements are tied to them. They have Halo 4 medals and the +10 HEADSHOT text on screen so I think I'll stay away from the "modernized" Halo 2 and just play the one I know and love.

I dislike Halo 4 as much as the next guy(quite possibly more...) but I'm willing to try the re-imagined Halo 2 maps.

HALLELUJAH

I dont know why everyone hates join in progress. Sucks being in a game that is severely unbalanced with no hope for new teammates to fill the gap. A guy and his guest leave unbalancing the game, then another couple quitters with bad attitudes also leave, then the game is wrecked and the few remaining people give up hope and leave. I played many games where it was only me and one other person left getting completely slaughtered by unbalanced teams.

Sure it isnt nice to join a game halfway over, but I always just viewed it as doing my part. Next time I'll be the one needing a few teammates to join and keep the game competitive.

Join in progress is a good feature eliminated for selfish reasons.

Q: Will Halo: The Master Chief Collection include all the multiplayer maps from Halo 1&2 on the PC?
-Lx Predator

A: Halo: The Master Chief Collection features every multiplayer map ever released in Halo 1-4; on console and PC.

Stinkles you lied to me! I'm happy theyre all in now.

Q: Will there be a PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection at some point in the future?
-Beats By Die

A: Our current focus is on the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One.

Definitely avoiding this question left and right. It's coming to PC
in two years.

Q: How will armor permutations work across all games? Will everything be unlocked from the start?
-Cpt Obvious2816

A: We’re still in development, but we’ll have more to share on customization as we get closer to launch.

Damn, one of the specific questions I wanted answered.

The other one being whether or not the PC banshee will be in H1 MP.

As according to the bulletin it's a work in progress. If it seems decent I'll give it a try, but in it's current state no thank you.

It was incredibly poorly implemented with Halo 4, and that's why I don't want it. I only have bad memories with JIP, and would rather people just be placed with other quitters, or thrown back into the game if they try and search for a new game.

I really wish they weren't using the Halo 4 multiplayer Mark VI models for the remastered maps when they have the perfect model with Chief in Halo 2 Anniversary. I hope that changes.
I want to play multiplayer with this model damn it!

2 player online coop campaign for CE & 2 is a nice upgrade indeed.
Halo CEA already had online co-op.
Any word on how Theater will be working in this game, or if it's included at all?
Works for the remastered Halo 2 maps, Halo 3 and 4.

.

Basically kills any possibility of meaningful ranks for one thing.

#2 there is nothing worse than joining a game where your team is getting crushed. Its just a waste of everyone's time when that happens.

Honestly the Gears 3 system was perfect and should be emulated by every game.

Ranked games should have no JIP and unranked should just be rotating maps/gametypes with JIP and not have you back out after each match.

Yeah, my mistake. Was confused for a second. Held in Texas right. Who knows, maybe they'll show off something new there. Maybe all Bravo meant was that Gamescom would have playable multi-player on the show floor.

Hmm, good point.

edit:

After reading the bulletin, weren't maps other than Ascension basically confirmed as being some of the six remade maps? I could be wrong.

Frankie name dropped Zanzibar and Lockout, but I guess they didn't consider that official confirmation.

Halo 3 Pit slayer at 1080p/60fps on dedis. My brain is not ready.

Can I please get an option to tick/untick what maps I want to play before starting a matchmaking search like in Counter-Strike:GO? It's 2014, stop being so annoying, Halo MM guys.

So much this. Join in Progress single-handedly made Big Team playable. I love Big Team, but I can't even begin to tell you the amount of times I wound up 1v8 in Halo 3 (or 1v6 Invasion in Reach). But even beyond that quitting was always a big problem. So often it came down to which team had the first quitter was screwed. People just got pissy that "wah, I started a match halfway through", which seriously, get over it. Way better than the alternative.

I wish they would do an opt in for the join in progress. I see how people don't like it if they care about stats, but I play strictly for fun so I'm willing to do it regardless. Sure others are too. Maybe reward people who join in progress with a little more XP or something. Best of both worlds!

Another option would be

Social Playlists = join in progress
Ranked Playlists = no join in progress

Please don't kill it 343. I hate empty games!!!

Join in Progress would have been much better if players had the option to disable it. I don't want to search five times and get put into matches that are halfway over each time (and in some cases, I'd end up in the same match I just quit).

The best place to implement it is in the lobby. Matches should never start with uneven teams.

You have my assault rifle, agreed but add gametypes too.

I enjoy the lucky CTF or BTB games you JiP into then proceed to bring your team back from 0 - 3 down to win 5 - 4 or similar. That underdog feeling is great actually but for the most part JiP seems to work better in the larger playlists.

Also the ranked = no JiP and social = JiP seems quite sound and that's what I'd like to see in future.

I'm not so concerned with e-peen ranks but I understand that they make the game more fun for others.

I think that's selfish. I never considered it a waste of my time to help salvage a game plagued by quitters. I'm helping some poor dudes out that got ditched by their team. There were plenty of games that I joined in-progress that turned around after the empty spots were filled. Sometimes playing the underdog is fun.

Yeah, okay. I'm cool with that. Everybody wins. Good idea.

This is for sure the best collection I've seen yet. It's also one of the reasons I just bought a xbox one. Well sunset overdrive helped as well.

Love how people who don't care about ranks dismiss it as "e-peen" as opposed to a measurement of skill between players. I don't mean to be abrasive so don't take it like that please. But ranks are more than just bragging to a bunch of people that you're a general blah blah. It let's you know how good you are relative to the other players in a game. The ranks in Reach and Halo 4 told me jackshit aside from these guys either played the game a lot and still suck, or these guys didn't play a lot and yet are good.

I wouldn't even say I'm good anymore. But I liked knowing how good I was. What my "skill" level was at, whether it was improving, what others were at. Ranks are more than just about being "fun" but giving folks something to do, to look forward to, to continually get ranks.

The games without ranks in a sense, also had the lowest player bases and the lowest time spent playing the games. People are competitive, they want to know how they did.

And in my anecdotal experience, I've always found the guys who say ranks are useless, they aren't needed, were always the ones upset that they could barely get over 30 in a lot of playlists. I'm not saying you, but even Frankie has mentioned "e-peen" in the past, but just look at a lot of the most played games on Twitch, ranks matter.

I'm interested in how ranks will work. You'd have to think they would only be in the game-specific lists, because someone could theoretically be a 35 in Halo 2's sandbox, a 45 in Halo 1's, and a 25 in Halo 3's, so rank feels.. off in mixed types. Someone could have a good long run of Halo 2 then you get matched with them in a Halo 3 match and they can't do anything.
