Yeah, they don't have all scans ready, so that's why I'm going to wait for someone who actually have the real copy in their hand and verifying it for us before we write it off.

I'm hoping for Ms. Pac-Man, Proto Man and Shadow myself. I want Dixie most all next to Ridley but while Tropical Freeze gave her a bubblegum gun her hair isn't equivalent to a rocket-pack. So I don't see her being as close of a clone as Luciano is.

I don't want any more clones. Maybe only Dark Pit but someone like Dark Samus didn't make it, so I can't see why Dark Pit will.

Dark Samus was too different to be a clone, but not important enough to be a character. Dark Pit could be extremely close to Pit and not feel out of place.

It's the same reason Ridley will be an Assist Trophy because he's not close enough to Charizard to be a clone

Is it totally hypocritical that I really like Lucina being in but Dark Pit being a character would be kind of a bummer for me? Not that I can complain after seeing the amazing newcomers we're already getting.

Also, I feel like Dark Pit would have been revealed fully with Palutena, as it seems like they seem to be revealing all newcomers from the same series at once (Lucina/Robin obviously, but also clarifying Charizard's situation alongside Greninja).

Exactly. I haven't played Awakening but I would love to have had a character who didn't have blue hair and used anything but a sword.

And even then, if you chose to believe what we have heard so far, a character wasn't cut for Lucina, it was more like a character was cut, so sakurai added Lucina.

I think the more surprising ones got me more hyped than the less exciting ones, and to be fair to Villager, his video was more a trailer for Smash 4 in general than for him.
