New York City police officers killed a man Thursday after he had broken up a fight between two other men, insisting on placing him in a chokehold and slamming his head to the pavement, piling on top of him as he gasped for air and as he continually told the cops he couldn’t breathe.

The entire incident was caught on video from a witness who kept telling the cops that the man had not committed a crime.

But evidently, the cops suspected him of selling untaxed cigarettes, which apparently is a very serious crime in New York City.

The fact that most officers involved in unjustified/unnecessary killings fail to receive adequate or any punishment at all, shows that there's a systemic problem within the american police.

There is no doubt that police brutality has been on an upslope in frequency, and this is not a good sign for any nation. You have to keep in mind only a very tiny fraction of such incidents even make it to recorded footage which the press can get a hold of.

In a world with a justice system that works as intended, those cops should be standing on trial for murder.

The man died for breaking up a fight between others. NYPD accused him of selling untaxed ciggies and then ganged up on him with chokes and slams. What a way to go. And then people act surprised when cases like Chris Dorner happen.
