Does the free game count as "digital purchase" for the deluxe promotion?
Yep, full price. I got credit for spending $59.99 on Wind Waker and $59.99 on NSMBU. Both were download codes from this promotion.

Yes it does, since you're using a code to download it from the eShop.Does the free game count as "digital purchase" for the deluxe promotion?
I have to say...I don't know. But since people are getting points for redeeming the codes after having already "unlocked" the promotion, I'd imagine the free game being downloaded on the eShop would unlock the promotion itself. Can I use it to "unlock" the promotion? You should have really asked here before taking the bolded step.In regards to this, I actually didn't really do my research.
I pre-ordered a digital DL copy of Mario Kart 8 (From Game.uk) and couldn't register it to my Aus account (I didn't know that PAL REGION only applies to physical games according to Nintendo). So naturally I contact the supplier of the code and they gave me a 'too bad, contact Nintendo' answer.
I ended up just buying a digital copy from the Aus eShop. BUT I still have a digital code for the UK of Mario Kart 8, and I'm not sure what to do with it. I would love to sell it to someone cheap, just to get some money back :/

If you had just made a non-Oceania NNID on your Wii U (in system settings change country then make a new user) you have have been able to use the GAME.co.uk code fine and can also play it on your Australian NNID.
As for getting rid of the digital MK8 you can't use try the Buy Sell Trade thread in community. Make clear it is a European copy of Mario Kart 8 and see if anyone bites really.
Nabbed Pikmin 3. I already had NSMBU and WW.
+1 for the free game counting as full price for the Digital Deluxe promotion.
If my wife has her nnid and I have my nnid on the same wiiu, would I be able to use another code for her and get another game?
Sadly there's not but it's a great gameI now have four codes, but am not sure if I'd even play Pikin 3. Is there a demo for the game?
It is ok to redeem two codes on one account?
As in is it ok to redeem two different games (EG NSMB and Wii Party) with one NNID
The actual free games codes? Yeah that works. I redeemed my code and a friend's, no problem.
Oh, was going to offer it up to you guys but I'll take this and Wii Party U. Is that any good? Will the kids like it?
So is it a physical copy?? Or digital copy for NOA?? I'm on the fence, but might pick up Mario Kart 8 and a free Wii Party U for my gf.
Ah, that sucks then. I prefer physical copy. Thanks, but I'll pass on the deal. I'm sure Nintendo is boosting up those software salesThe free game is a download code from Club Nintendo.

Yes it is. Free game is icing, but I like physical copies too, so I just sold the digital code. Everybody is happy. To be fair, MK8 is worth buying even without the freebie.
Like anything NOE related they could have handled this better by issuing a warning first and just generally not being in really bad taste.http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/mario-kart-8-game-promotion-codes-choose-from-10-digital-games-11-95-cheapest-ebay-1958035#post22347566 said:Guys be very careful. I downloaded 5 titles and nintendo revolked two. Don't forget the games are tied to your nintendo console and as such they have access to the serial numbers etc. They revoked two games which did not play, and when i went into my download history they were not there to be re-downloaded. Contacted nitendo and they said theyre doing this now due to ebay code abuse.
The funny thing is they did not tell me why they allowed me to keep some and deleted the rest. They just said the most recent two titles were deemed not eligible due to ebay abuse blah blah.
Whilst I understand I downloaded 5 but still, just thought I'd warn you guys on the possible risks of the whole thing. Especially since these are "ebay codes". Anyways hope it helps.
(assuming Europe) Have you entered the PIN on the eShop receipt? I found I had to do that despite MK8 showing up on my account. So my cousin downloaded MK8 to his Wii U before making a club Nintendo account and linking his system and now he dosnt have an option for the free game, even though MK8 shows up as registered to his account. Is he screwed?
In Europe going on the eShop and looking through the purchase history and viewing the receipt for Mario Kart 8 has a PIN but it might work differently in America. In any case NOA customer services are very good at resolving these sorts of problems since the game is showing up but the promotion is not sounds like a glitch. It is odd though since in Europe you have to make a purchase while the Club Nintendo link is active for it to show up in your account.NA. So you get a PIN in the email they send you to confirm purchase?

I will be livid if they revoke any of my games...I just wanted to give a heads up about something I have heard.

I would suggest avoiding the eShop until you've played the games. Makes me dread what will await me (Wii U is offline for now and lack of NAND space meant I couldn't get downloads of my lot).

Is this offer still going in the UK, then? I might be getting a Wii U this or next week, and i could do with a free insta-backlog.
Oh, and what's in the EU free game list, if so?
Scratch this whole post, read the OP.
So, another question: Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD or Monster Hunter 3 U? GO
Actually, yet another question: Does anyone think that Nintendo will do a similar prommotion with Smash Bros.? Either version.
How do I register my second MK8 code to a family account? I added another account to me Club nintendo. Do I just enter the code like normal and it asks me which account it belongs to or is there a way to switch to that account?
The sub-account will have a username and password. Open that one and enter the code.
When does this deal expire in the US?
Is it possible to redeem the free game promo code without access to a WiiU? I ordered one of the refurbished WiiU's but there's a possibility that the WiiU won't arrive in time.
Has anyone here gotten a code without having their Wii U yet? I don't want to waste a chance at a free game.
I can confirm it: you don't need a Wii U linked to claim your free game; I got my code before I had a Wii U.
Yes. Someone already asked this from the other thread. Let me see if I can find it.
edit: Here you go.
Thanks!
Just to clarify, I just have to register MK8 on Club Nintendo and I get a download code for the free game?

The promotion will expire this July 31st while the download code will expire on Sept 30th.
But then you must get the code by selecting the game you want from the Club Nintendo by August 31. The code itself must be redeemed on a Wii U by September 31.
