Decent? No. Was there forge remakes of it? Yes. I'm not saying it's a bad map or wouldn't be nice as a remake, but I'm burned out on it, personally. It was heavily used in playlists during Reach and remade again in Halo 4. I would be more partial to a different map being remade, because you can be sure that the 6 maps redone for Halo 2A will be used heavily in playlists. Sanctuary remake? More like No-thank-uary lol. Due it's ongoing popularity, it wouldn't surprise me if it was one of the remakes.

I laughed too hard at this...

Although Sanctuary is still my favorite Halo map, I'm inclined to agree with you based on that one sentence. Good job, sir.

It's not actually.

1. It is not the same Covies (Kilo 5 Trilogy)

2. Halo 4 literally starts off where we last saw Cortana and Master Chief.

I will say that it isn't explained all that much to those of you that do not read the books/comics.

While I thought the campaign was good in Halo 4 I think the bolded part above is the biggest flaw. There is so much stuff that seems like essential understanding in Halo 4 that is only explained in other fiction. Reading the Forerunner trilogy of books seems especially important to understand any of the forerunner plot details.

It looks like the trend will continue in H5. At least we will get the Nightfall series in MCC.

Sorry if this has been asked (and answered), but since this has been touted to have 4000 gamerscore, does this mean Halo 3 and Halo 4 will have different achievements attached to them? As they stand, they have 1750 and 2000 respectively, so unless they are discounting the add-ons and DLC achievements, I'm curious how this will be done.

Played some Halo 4 this morning after a long, long hiatus. Can't wait to replay these games, going to be so great!

Yeah it was said in one of the panels that the achievements will be new.

They'd have to, since not everything is present in the same manner. Any achievements tied to Halo 3's ranking or progressions system would be gone. And they should drop the DLC achievements since the pack distinctions would be gone, and it ties them to having certain map/gametype combos in matchmaking.

lol indeed. I'm weary of Coagulation for the same reason, but it seems like they have a few twists to keep it interesting.

I much prefer that, and have since seen an article on Polygon where it's mentioned that achievements are "completely redone". I'm all for that!

As much as I want to see Halo 2: Anniversary, I'll definitely be playing them all in order, with intermittent visits into multiplayer.

All achievements will be new. I just hope there is nothing crazy in there. Except for 1). Finishing Campaign Solo and 2). With mandatory co-op. These two I can live with. But no crazy multiplayer achievements please.

btw are they going to add matchmaking for Campaign? They had it in Reach. And I miss it ever since. Not all your friends are available when you want.

This is honestly one of the biggest things I can't decide on. I really want to play all the Halos, in order, on Legendary, for the first playthrough... But I also really want to just play Halo 2: Anniversary. I really can't decide on this one.

You will do what I do every time there's a new build. Check out levels of h2a to see the graphics, switch to h2a mp, go look at bits of h3 and h4 to see how much the simple fidelity increase reveals about how pretty those games are, then go play with halogen on whatever og mode is popping.

And you will probably watch episode 1 of nightfall.

Myself and 2 other bros are playing all of them in order. Gonna start with Reach the weekend before launch.

I'm going straight to H3 just to see those beautiful graphics. Checking out all the little details in 1080p like throwing out a bubble shield to examine the ridges, dual weilding spikers and watching those iron needles cool from red hot etc...and then I'll spend like 5,439 hours in classic H2 matchmaking.

I'll be playing Halo Anniversary 2 first all the way and then dick around with the other ones to see how they look.

After that I'd probably work chronologically from 1-4.

Realistically speaking, I don't have enough self control to do that. Although watching Nightfall religiously is pretty much a given. God, it looks so good.

I have a friend who's going to do H2A co-op with me. But he only wants to play normal... Like a lil' bitch. We had to compromise on heroic. So I have no choice but to ALSO do a solo run in order to follow my Legendary tradition.

God damn Frank, stop exciting us more. This is too much, just too much. While reading your post, I actually imagined myself doing all of that and then I realised its still months away. I hate you.

Is there any chance that the "driver AI" in Halo 2 gets slightly improved, or patched? I'm OK with keeping the original code for a better experience, but I hated to be the gunner on a Warthog and have an ODST constantly driving us to our death off a cliff.

The teams were almost balanced. Almost.

I fucked up baaaaaad with shadow's team.

I'm just going to point out that Team Shadow won 2 of its 4 rounds by forfeit. The other teams just didn't want to play Reach anymore.

EDIT: Looking at the thread, I guess it was just our team that did that.

I know it got a lot of hate back in the day but I am pretty excited about the H2 campaign. I had no idea wtf was going on when I was younger but I remember still really enjoying it.

I think H3 will benefit hugely from just the increase in res. It was actually a pretty beautiful game just the human character models looked bad.

Hahaha, I think there's a lot of people in this situation.

I didn't like in Halo 4 how the UNSC treated Masterchief with less respect then past games. It seemed they didn't even care that the last Spartan who saved humanity was actually still alive.

At the start and end of Forward Unto Dawn, it seemed they cared, as Lasky was listening to Cortana's signal multiple times, and the radios were blaring about Masterchief being alive and stuff in the background. Then in the full game, I don't even believe they mention Chief being gone. Literally the first line the UNSC say to chief, is Palmers brilliant line of "I'd thought you'd be taller." srsly yo?

But yes, to an extent, It is basically like Halo 3 never happened in Halo 4.

I feel the same. The Chief is a hero. The soldiers should be in awe. I'm sure one of the reasons people became Spartan IVs is because of Chief. He played such an important role in the Human-Covenant wars, and sacrificed everything to save the human race. I really didn't like the way Halo 4 handled Chiefs return.

I'm going H2A MP > Halo 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 but I'm not sure if I want to go Heroic or Ledgendary.

I sincerely hope so. The specific map achievements in H3 DLC (and all other games for that matter) were extremely dumb. It's fine to lock away some DLC achievements behind a paywall but don't do it with a map requirement.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the water effects in HD, the stream running through valhalla used to be full of floating spartans.

right, and also there are some things that are Vidmaster achieves that would be hard to do now anyway. It makes sense each gets fresh 1000G

It seems obvious that there are 1000G per game but it would have been nice to have achievements for the collection as a whole - completing all 4 campaigns (and on legendary) etc, though I guess that may be rendered somewhat useless if you're picking up the 4 Legendary completion achievements from each game anyway.

I don't think they've said that there are 1000g of distinct achievements for each game, have they? Just that it's 4000g total.

There could be. They have 4k gamer score to utilize and they could very easily cut out a bunch of the super shitty achievements and replace them with collection wide ones.

I think there will be challenges and medals/etc, just not achievements for that stuff.

I hope they do 1000 gamerscore per game with 500 for multiplayer and 500 for campaign. Some of the achievements, I assume, will return like one for completing each mission of campaign for the games and additional for doing it via co-op. That seems to make the most sense.
