Yea I spent 3 hours last night stuck and by the end was like fuck this shit. It's a shame until you get to that point of the pixel hunt and randomly colored hallways it's fun and interesting as hell. After that it goes to shit though because you can't seem to actually finish it since everything seems to be random in that part.

Is it wrong that I want to buy a PS4 for this?

If it ends up being only on the PS4, then you have no choice.

The final part is infuriatingly random. Been at it for 4 hours trying every proposed solution I've come across online, nothing. I can *always* get 1 laugh, but never a 2nd. I've heard the baby laugh when I'm by the clock, radio, and phone, but once I get one to trigger I can never get a 2nd one. Can't get the phone to ring. It's driving me insane.

Damn this teaser game a couple of scare jumps lol.

IS brilliant and I might end up buying the full game when is released.

Tense as hell.

so what is P.T. an abbrevation for..? Playable Teaser is to obvious for a Hideo Kojima stunt.. or maybe not..

- Patient (this makes sense because some events are only triggered when you are Patient enough)
- Post Traumatic (you did murder someone)
- Personal Trainer (lol)
- Part Two (again lol)
- Partido del Trabajo (Mexican Labor Party - because Del Torro is mexican)
- Point of Tangency (used in mathematics to describe where a curve meets a tangent)
- Pre-Test.

it could mean alot.. lol
-Physical therapy
-Patent troll
-Paratrooper
-Phantom, The

I was highly disappointed with this...it was pretty boring. So glad I didn't have to pay for it. If this is the future of Silent Hill, I'll pass even though I love me some del Toro. Kojima needs to stick with MGS and not get involved with SH.

Welp, I've given up. I'm stuck at the same loop as most people seem to be, all pieces of the photo, but still no phone call. I spent about 30 minutes running around, occasionally stopping to ask the baby for advice, who I started calling Whalechicken. Loving the genuine scares and creepy as hell atmosphere the demo has going on, but the random element is causing more frustration and killing any tension.

I could not trigger the ending when I was playing last night either. It was driving me crazy. Could not get that
second laugh from the baby to occur. I always got the first laugh.

Given the phone call says "You've been chosen" (or something similar), I'm convinced whether you get the ending is completely random. It's stupid.

You know I'm thinking this exact thing. He says you've been "chosen"! In other words, we're not worthy.

As "stupid" as it may seem it's a great way to make the teaser even more mysterious and special. We are getting so used to these youtube tutorials of how to solve puzzles in games so it's kinda refreshing to see that people can't figure it out. :D

I understand the need for closure though. Hell, I watched a stream for 4 hours last night just to see if the guy could get through to the ending.

I couldn't get the phone to ring last night either, as frustrating as that may be, I loved the experience playing. Trying to get that phone to ring got me thinking way outside the box. I went as far as finding 204863 on the HEX color wheel and found out that it was the color blue. And looped until my flashlight was blue to see if that would do it. Nope. Lol

People can't figure it out because it's fucking random and obtuse. That's not a good thing.

I went from being excited about a new Silent Hill to going, "Oh, god, is this going to be indicative of the quality of this new game? If so I want nothing to do with it."

There is a pattern, been reading across here and there, seems like you need 2 baby laughs and then the controller vibrates and phone call, then end. Im so tired, dang it, Kojima.

Getting the baby laughs is what's random.

Hell, there isn't even a clear consensus on whether or not it's actually possible for everybody to complete it.

Played it for around 3 hours. I couldn't get the ending.

*Completed the broken picture.
*Went through the "endless red hallways" by looking into the hole in the wall into the bathroom.
*What's up with the fetus on the bathroom sink? Does it do anything?
*The bath tub is sometimes filled with water, other times it is empty.
*Saw the twitching female ghost inside the bathroom, it dashed through me and disappeared.
*Female ghost again in the hallway just in front of the basement door. Again, dashed through me and disappeared.
*Female ghost through the window near the phone. Stared at it for a while, then it disappeared.
*Saw the bloody refrigerator hanging from the ceiling.
*Heard baby crying several times. I also heard the baby giggling several times.
*Fooling around the area for a long time triggers creepy music followed by female cries, and also the female ghost.
*I looked up to the second floor several times, but I NEVER saw anything there.
*Got the "screen tearing" effect. Nothing happened afterwards.
*Got the "yellow screen filled with text". Game "restarted".
*Got killed by the DAMN FEMALE GHOST. TWICE.
*Cycled through the house and got different flashlight colors: Red, blue, green. Completely random.
*Clock would be turned off sometimes.
*Tried waiting A LONG TIME for the phone to ring. Nothing happened.
*Started cycling through the place again. Different colors, sometimes ghosts, most of the times not. No phone call.
*Never got "possessed". The female ghost dashed through me like 10 times. Nothing happened. Some times I just stared at it without moving, and it walked slowly towards me before disappearing.

We don't know exactly if it's random do we? Anyway, this was a teaser to market a new game and it worked perfectly. I'm 100% sure the final game won't use these tactics.

But there's no pattern to getting those laughs it seems. If there was then we all would have finished it

Initially, thought the baby laughs happened within the hallway, the game decides then to have the baby laugh in the toilet area. Game is good but the random triggers are frustrating as shit. If the point of PT was to have me go insane, its getting there.

I tried it last night with no luck, and I'm still trying now. Watching the clock (whether it shows the time or not) until the twelve bell chimes, then go to the radio and wait for something to happen (which usually takes a lot) and then going to the phone, I constantly get a baby giggle next to the phone, getting a first giggle seems to be key and I never get it.

EDIT: by something to happen, I mean weird backwards voices, or text on the screen...

I came out of the teaser way more worried about the quality of the game than when I went into it. That's not 'perfect marketing.' And maybe the final game won't use these exact mechanics, maybe this isn't even an indication of the general quality of the final game, but the problem is this is the only thing they've given us to go on.

If I'm looking to get people into a comedy, and I put out a trailer that's not only awful but the trailer also makes it seem like it's supposed to be in the action genre and people react to it at face value I don't get to go "Why are you judging this based on this thing we made to sell you on it?"

As far as I'm concerned Kojima's Silent Hill now has to prove it won't have anything as shitty as this obnoxious part of the teaser they made to promote the game.

Not sure if I've finished it as I woke up in the room again but I think it goes on doesn't it?

Anyway, that shit with headphones. Oh my god.
I've heard the saying of being so scared you can't scream and I've just experienced that. It's like i couldn't speak for a second, it was bizzare, I just took a massive intake of breath and I couldn't breathe out.

I think it's more the headphones, it's the sounds that fuck with me, they heighten my apprehension and make me scared.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the teaser as much as I did, but you can't argue with this being marketing gold. Even though we have little to no clue how the full game will turn out, everyone and their little sisters are playing/watching the teaser and, seemingly, being scared shitless.
