My first instinct was to yell, "n00b!" but it has been an inordinately long console lifecycle and you really would have had to have been here almost a decade to know this is just part of the circle of life on gaming forums.

Every console gets its share of licks. Xbox (specifically Tomb Raider) is the hot topic at the moment, thus, the increase in "negative" threads/posts.

I don't see what's so bad about the OP.

It has valid points. The hate is over the top for the Xbox One.

Are people making LTTP threads or other "review" threads for game related things shills? They put just as much effort as OP did.

Understandable, but again, we don't know this guy does PR in the industry. He could have been representing a dry-cleaning company, for all we know, and he just happens to have strong opinions about how he'd like people to talk here. If he's just posting here casually, it might not occur to him to say, "I do PR for a dry-cleaning company." And really, in the event of an actual PR plant, how would you trust them to disclose their affiliations truthfully, anyways?

Again, I really think this person could be innocent. But what's done is done, I suppose.

Threads like this are garbage. Throwing around haphazard accusations, insulting others while pleading for peace, Sony Too(tm), list wars, leave Microsoft alone, etc.

It's stupid to make a thread an attempt to attack some group of members. If you have issues with people in specific threads, PM a mod to deal with it. Or strike up a conversation in that thread. We don't need this crap. Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone who felt slighted by some members of this forum, started making threads to defend their viewpoint?

That said, I feel for the XBox members who have to trudge through some of these XBox threads. The drivebys do get ridiculous sometimes, but my advice is to not take it personally and let a mod know.

Yes, I did PM Bish, and he can vouch for that. He was very polite and accommodating. I'm now here talking with everyone else about the concept of PR plants vs. people who happen to be in PR, and how we as a forum feel about the best way to handle them.

Okay, I was watching the MGSV stream so I missed this thread. The "PR company" writes software for PR companies to use. So they're not industry, they're middle-ware, I get it now.

edit: just for clarity, when I say it all spirals down from there I mean, consoles get brought into it, then sales, then the console companies, then personal attacks etc etc.
