okay, so...on my game, i had alternating hallway colors in the final loop (usually red or green i wanna say?), played today on my girl's game and had none.
went to exit from her game to mine, and maybe it didnt log me out? so i restarted my game and bam, no colors in my hallway anymore either. i wonder if its random or carried over somehow?

Xaoswolf is brute forcing it. He stays at the phone to let the ghost past then runs around quickly to check everything.
I think its best to let the ghost roam, I think when you are possessed it my lock the puzzle down. Maybe as long as the ghost roams the puzzle alternates making it easier to stumble on it.

Tempest, Xaos can't keep skipping the phone after the giggles. The only way to find out is to be consistent. So if baby giggles, go to phone. But, he has to be sure he doesn't mess up the rumble getting to phone. So, giggle, go to phone, wait for rumble and then wait for phone call. The minute it doesn't work, you know it's not the only way. But if it works many times after giggles then it's at least consistent.
No, sorry, forgot to mention that after the father kills everyone, he hangs himself with a garden hose. I think the ghost is the mom.

Nope, nothing to do with the ghost. He intentionally stays away from it by standing still while the music and ghost sounds are going on. Then he runs around and looks at stuff when it's quiet. After a while he gets it, but doesn't know how.
EDIT: And he got it again!

To me it certainly seems like the game is built to gain advantage of streaming, with hints in many different languages, so it benefits from cooperation.

Just been watching a guy play it on the Live PS4 channel and he was on his 10th run through the game! He seemed to know exactly he was doing, up until the point of triggering the ending!
Well he just completed it for the 11th time... He must be doing something right
:/ Damn. This is such a hard puzzle. lol. So many people working on it

I get a giggle walking from Telephone to Hell wall with river painting.
Someone should see if screaming triggers a giggle.
Look for a painting on the floor. Above it you will find a hole in the wall. Look through it with R3 and keep watching until the game gets you out. Then keep walking.

OK, didn't realize that indicated possession (since she'd still show up elsewhere later). So do people really think you have to never be possessed to get the ending? I thought gamergirltalk got possessed/rushed at one point in her stream?

So lets think of this like a puzzle. The developers made the answer so complicated they figured it would take a week to solve. And yet the method to solve it is easy enough to stumble into it by accident. This means that whatever the sequence is, the way to solve it is simply walking around, looking at stuff, and being at the right place at the right time. The question is what is that sequence, what governs it?
Seeing that people who have beaten it multiple times have not been able to replicate it with the same steps means what occurred before the infinite loop means nothing. Since you load at the infinite loop and it cant be solved the same way twice, there is no reason to assume what you did before that influences the final loop.
Whatever the solution is, it is solvable from that point forward. I believe Kojima and company wanted this to last days where the whole community would come together to solve it by looking at the clues. I think because many have accidentally beat it the community as a whole is ignoring all the clues on the screen. Maybe if we translate everything, listen to audio in reverse and solve the riddle we may know what the sequence is.

There's a painting that's fallen down near the bathroom, on the wall there, there's a tiny hole that you can get close to and focus on.

Welp, apparently you can miss the phone call, I have my PS4 one while I checked the thread, was standing in front of the mirror, when I heard a baby giggle, I switched back to the PS4 and my DS was vibrating, but it stopped when I got to the phone. Didn't notice a phone ringing though.
Kojima likes to take advantage of system features, right? Like reading the time, memory card or controller port as well as "possessing" controllers. The phone call also says you have been chosen. Perhaps there is something that is a mix of certain actions in the game but its limited to certain people only. Maybe based off their name or something else. Maybe we should also be looking into information based around the people who have completed it at least once.

Lol. I'd be willing to bet on that except a GAF member has said they beat it without any Metal Gear or Silent Hill data on their system. I was guessing maybe it was based off usernames or something.
Also, any news on what 204863 is? I saw the birthday theory but why is the 0 in that particular place?

Finally did it! Basically what I did was get possessed first thing, then I waited for the baby to laugh. Went straight for the phone and paused. After that I heard the laugh a second time. I un-paused then heard a third laugh. Phone rang and demo is finished. I'll post a video later.
