GTAV PS4/Xbox One coming November 18th, PC coming January 27th

Isn't this good for PC players? It's better than releasing it same time as Xbox One/PS4 and the port being crappy.

How, we have waited for a remaster that will most likely perform like shit given rockstar history on this franchise and porting it to pc.

Not really interested anymore rockstar this is just another pc title I will wait for decent mods to show up and give a try when it goes on sale.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic? The Xbone and PS4 are essentially PC's. AND they've had ample time to do the port. I'm not even upset about the delay for PC, but don't try and make excuses. This is more likely to avoid pirates from damaging sales. GTAIV was heavily pirated, so this doesn't surprise me one bit.

Post historrrrrryyyyy

That proves nothing.

It's not exactly a secret that piracy on PC is rampant. Rockstar's way of dealing with this is to delay the inevitable to prevent some people interested in the game to pirate it on PC instead of opting for a console version.

Sad that PC gaming will never get rid of piracy but at least we will get the game.

While i definitely do NOT condone it, this move alone will have people that would most likely have bought it, pirate it now, another fuck you to your original audience, i remember the good old days when PC had timed exclusivity on this series.

16 players is chaos in online

I can't even imagine the spawn kills/tank/jet killers with 30 in public sessions

I can't wait to find out though

I think everybody is starting off with empty bank accounts. So hopefully Rockstar Games have figured out the money glitches, and rebalanced the mission payouts. I'd like at least a weekend with the multiplayer before it becomes tank galore.

Why would you want a chainsaw EXCLUSIVELY for PS4?? =S

Gonna get the Xbox One version here, except if the PS4 version becomes substantially better! If the difference again is only 900p x 1080p, then the Xbox One version will be mine!

I don't want it to be exclusive to ps4, i just want a chainsaw. A hospital interior like the one in 4 would complement that power tool nicely also.

Holy shit, DAI and FC4 are same day?
I plan to get both and look forward to them. So January actually works much better for me.

From last year's thread:

Also there's the LTTP vote.

Anyway, two months won't kill me, I'll be there day 1 next year but V didn't really grab me on PS3 and I've still got a few more open world games in my backlog.

Yeah, it'll have to be the LTTP vote I guess (which is a largely pointless vote anyway), because GTA V released in 2013, and won't be on PC until 2015, making it ineligible for a regular vote by those rules.

My only hope is that they use those extra two months wisely and give PC players the optimization they deserve.

I'll be super pissed if it comes out on PC in January of 2015 and the port is still garbage.

It's Rockstar so that's unlikely. If GTA 4 is any indication then at least they'll patch it a bunch and make it somewhat playable on lower end hardware.

they are not going to youtube it?

I had a brainfart and wrote livestream for whatever reason (probably cause I live on Twitch these days, lol)

That's where the trailer will be and a YouTube mirror will probably be available soon after

It's a Rockstar PC port, so we know it's going to be a crappy port already. Rockstar is a console-first developer.

Max payne 3 had a good port though. If the port is still crappy even with this delay then I don't blame you for complaining, but I'd give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt this time based on MP3.

I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed the PC port out so they could focus on getting the console versions out this year. Awesome that a date is finally announced, may get on PS4.

I'm shocked at the PC complaints. Do people really buy multiplatform PC games day 1? Steam sales alone are reason enough to wait, and the mods won't be around for months, with the worthwhile ones taking years.

I rented this on PS3, so I'll definitely pick up the PS4 version (maybe cheaper, used after a month or two).

The online too for the PS3/360 was bad for about 3 days so maybe if they did all 3 on the 18th it could be the same.

Shockingly, Steam sales and mods are not the only reason some people play on PC.

I've already been waiting fucking years to play GTA V on PC. No more!

I'd sure as hell have bought this day one on PC.

Huh? HD7950 i5 2500k here, GTAIV runs like garbage. Can't even hold a consistent 60fps on lowest settings. I am far from an edge case. GTAIV was never truly fixed.

If piracy was the cause, wouldn't they just not release it at all? A delay won't change anything.

In fact it would increase any piracy there would have been anyway since generally most people pirating have a sense of entitlement - x wasn't available in my country / costs too much / is broken / does not have the same content / hate company / wouldn't have bought it anyway.

This is a platform and media agnostic phenomenon plain and simple, yet inevitably it is increased on more open platforms simply due to ease of access. Regardless, this is also why you don't stop selling films, music, or games as correct pricing and availability demonstrably curbs piracy significantly.

In terms of GTAV the decision is to maximise sales, where PC will canabilises console sales. By delaying it, they grab all the extra sales from double dippers who go for the PC version due to its mods, community, graphics etc etc whatever, despite already picking up the ps4/Xbox one variants. Doing this again after the ps3 and 360 versions is just smart, especially knowing the PC community would be less eager to repurchase a remastered PC variant if mods were already in full swing. This is beyond obvious to me

Will be interesting to see if Rockstar add Mantle support to the PC version after that list that was shown earlier this year.

Increase the resolution of the final image and beyond the LODs, I think the character models are basically the same. They look the exact same as the press shots before gta C released at least.
Character models don't seem significantly improved no. Environmental detail has definitely improved in a lot of areas, though.

Yes you will. And so will everyone else bitching about the PC version. Maybe not day 1, but some day you will succumb to a Steam sale and give Rockstar your money. ;)

Nope, i'm not getting this game, not even in a steam sale, while waiting this long i found out i can live without it, especially after IV.

R* has lost it, in more ways than one.

You could be right. What if they called it GTAV Remastered? They won't but is for example TLOU PS4 a new game and can people who voted for that in 2013 vote again for the remaster? If we're nitpicky they shouldn't be able to but if they do, GTAV PC is fair game too imo.

I had it for the ps3 and I was planning on picking it up on the pc day one. I may have even preordered it in hopes of a preload.

We're going off a bunch of limited cinematic screenshots. Let's wait 10 more minutes for the new trailer, i guarantee we'll know more about the visual improvements.

Characters were pretty detailed already. Happy about the environments being improved. Dat aliasing was so bad.
