it is quite simply really (though I know we all love a drama)
Don't buy it, I own a X1 and I will protest with my wallet, if nobody buys it then that sends the right message
Wut. Fox engine it's really an impressive engine, whatever you think to know. That engine isn't exactly producing stellar looking games.
that's just stupid. Sports game? Is the game THAT good looking? Its hard to believe.
That engine isn't exactly producing stellar looking games.
Exactly. Apparently not well optimized either.
We have lots of evidence suggesting the days of 720p on XB1 are over. Then this game shows up. I'm inclined to say it's just shoddy work from the dev/engine.
Also saying the gap is closing is laughable if you think this shit is bad now just wait until certain games drop. The games that dump the 360 and PS3 are going to be really telling.... Batman AK/Evolve and Unity will give us a good baseline but I think the Witcher III,GTAV and Phantom Pain releases are going to be brutal for the XB1 brand. If half the shit we have heard about the next Mass Effects visuals is true MS better whip out the wallet to avoid that fiasco ..... yea this gen wont last long at all. 3-4 years tops before MS jumps ship, book it.
720p on the XB1 at this point is embarrassing for the developer. At launch it was understandable, but now it's not.
lol at the people celebrating this news.

Reads like it's more about the engine design not suiting the XB1 architecture due to ESRAM although I haven't seen a post link specifics yet.720p on the XB1 at this point is embarrassing for the developer. At launch it was understandable, but now it's not.

GTA V targets 1080p30Wait, whats wrong with GTAV on xbox one? I thought both versions both ran 60fps 1080p?
Konami doesn't care about Xbox people.
More like....
That engine isn't exactly producing stellar looking games.
The assets and effects will be much greater on the XB1 than the PS3.
That engine isn't exactly producing stellar looking games.
Dude, what are you trying to accomplish here? Yes, there is a gap, but 720 on XB1 is not the end all be all. I don't agree with your quite a few titles comment.

I think P.T. desagree with you... MGS V too...
Technically it is, but Ground Zeroes was very sterile looking and the TPP isn't much better...in my opinion.
GTA V targets 1080p30
That's understandable to a Point. In this case not so much. You buy a weaker console and protest when a game doesn't meet your visual expectations? Surely you did the same when the xbox specs were announced.
It's Rockstar. They are not going to tell you anything and then you buy it on release day because it's GTA.Ah okay, I'm out of the loop on it. Are both versions the same?
Resolution (or rather fillrate as it's resolution combined with framerate) is limited by the framebuffer footprint.Xbox One is a generational leap over the PS3, even if the PS4 is more powerful. Resolution is typically bottlenecked by bandwidth and textures are limited by the amount of ram and the GPUs texturing ability, both of which are surmountably more abundant over PS3. Its perfectly possible to increase texture quality while also increasing resolution over a last gen console, otherwise you'rer doing it wrong. Just my 2 cents.

Do you have a link for that? I had just assumed that was the case, as we've had deferred rendering engines last gen that used around 50MB for their MRT, but to have this information for FOX Engine would be interesting.
The Destiny parity thread taught us all that you should never tell a dev how to create their game.

looks pretty impressive to me.
not at all, I have a strong PC so I went with what I felt was the better eco system on the consoles (just my opinion)
but 720p is not trying really is it? I have no problem with 900p, I have no problem with the ps4 being the stronger console..
I have a problem when I feel the developers have not put the effort in, I am sure there are plenty of people who will offer reasons why it is like that
But it smacks of not trying, and if I feel that then I wont purchase it
looks pretty impressive to me.
We already have. But when we see games like destiny and Diablo doing 1080 both of which look far more impressive what should we think? Is say Konami is more at fault here. You're right, It's both MS and Konami's fault. All I'm saying is that xbox owners should see stuff like this coming because of the hardware.

I don't know what to do here, educate myself on the engine and it's compatibility with the XB1 hardware, or stamp my feet at the devs to do better.

They're even green and blue, insane.Did we had this gif here:
It's all about them dev goals. So I guess their goal was 720p on Xbone, they reached it and were happy. So no right to criticize here, right?
