Getting a lot of errors and failed registering for events now, haven't been able to get back into a race in like 10 minutes of trying. Gonna give up for now, was really fun while it lasted.

Unlocked the Spyker, ho-ly shit!

It's been a long time since a racing game gave me an adrenaline rush like DC does.

Think I'll bail from DriveClub shenanigans until the servers are fully up and stable.

I keep saying this but I can't help but keep trying. Stupid addicting game.

Side note, hey look I can actually view the leaderboards!!

Still can't access a single online function. I seriously cannot fucking believe that. Had zero problems with Destiny which is probably a factor of at least 10x the amount of scale, complexity, and sheer volume of users.

the graphics in this game are insane... the lighting when you come across some of the turns looks like real life

i caved and grabbed the t80 wheel and i think it works great. going to jerry rig some sort of a stand this weekend. no force feedback which sucks but didnt feel like investing a lot of money into something i wasnt sure id like, i dont play many racing games

online is busted for me as well, in toronto

Morning gentlemen. What the crack with getting online today? I've not been online for a single second 8) also, is my GAF club up and running yet? I found a good way of using my wheel. If I get a spare bit of time during times my little one isn't here, I use the wheel, when she's in bed I use the DS4, then when she's not here I redo the events I did on the DS4...with the wheel 8)

Oh man, Putre in Chile is such a great track. Those 2 long speed sections = drool. Just did the Tour race there with the Audi RS 5 Coupe....T'was fun

All 26 hours. Multiple times.
I spoke with Wheelstandpro last week. Apparently the stand the built for the G27 is compatible with the T300RS.

oh.

Is the G25 stand the same as the g27?
Or do I need another wheel mount plate?

That would drastically increase the chances of me getting a new wheel.

Glad some of you guys are getting online. I haven't been connected for a second since the game released. Hopefully it's a sign of improvement at least.

Side note: Just unlocked the Hyuara. Holy mother of the car gods that thing is fast.

I showed that Ferrari 458 hotlap vid to a friend, his reaction 'looks soulless'

So I asked what he meant with that. 'I don't know'

Seriously...

I wonder if online is more busted the higher ping to their servers in the UK?

because I see people with somewhat stable online connectivity in Playstation Live, and I've *never* seen that on my connection in Australia.

The best I get is sometimes while racing it comes up with a green message and then a red one appears shortly afterward. I've *never* had any club or other online options not dim..

I've a very stable connection, just with higher latency to UK than, so I'm wondering ..

Driveclub kind of feels like how GRID 1 did for me back in the day. Which I really liked.

However I think GRID had a better "campaign" if you will...at least you could buy cars for events and everything rather than just unlocking them. GRID also had better collision and damage modeling.

Driveclub is still good so far though.

anyone got tips on how to navigate curves

I know I should break but how should I go about executing it?

tap the L2 multiple times to navigate the curve? and let go of acceleration?

tips would be much appreciated!

Brake before you begin turning, gas just enough to carry you through, then accelerate as you come out.

Glide round...like me! Can't wait to get online so I can show you what speed and finesse really are!

Those point to point time trials is where this game really shines imo. Sense of speed is amazing and I'm really feeling myself pushing my car further and further, taking more risks and getting punished for that.

I never play any racing game except for Mario Kart where I'm pretty good, but I have to forget about all my habits.

You need to break often and you cannot do a 90 degrees drift by maintaining the drift button pressed. Argh, so many things to unlearn. But this game is so good, first time I'm actually enjoying a racing game.

The point to point tracks are absolutely the stars of the show, they are just so so good to drive...

Hit brake before the corner then turn without accelerating if yourself going inside quickly and going to hit the inner wall of the curve hit the throttle if the opposite happened going out of the track release the throttle while the car turning and the speed decreasing gradually.
It really matter of personal judgment the more you play the better you became at judging how to approach a corner just keep on practicing

1. Approach the corner on the outside line.
2. Break hard at the right moment. You will learn this by using a driving line or looking for off-track objects that can help you as a reference point.
3. Apply more breaking (gently) as you start going into the corner. Not always necessary depending on your entry speed.
4. Look for the apex; the optimal point where you should cut the corner and start accelerating.
5. As you see it (or rather feel it sometimes) start hitting the gas until you pass it.
6. As soon as you pass it go full acceleration as you head for the outside line again.

Are you sure about complexity? What Driveclub is doing seems a lot more complex than the pretty usual requirements for Destiny. It has that constant flow of micro-events going on, which may well have a lot to do with the strain the systems are under.

Driveclub is the first game since Forza 3 where I can see myself really getting into Time Trials.

Too bad that I can't connect to the servers still...

So Thrustmaster T300 RS will be the sweet spot for this game? I would like that sweet Force Feedback and something better than T80.

I never owned a wheel. Would also play Truck Sim 2 with it :lol

ed: I am catching myself looking at the scenery in pretty fast cars crashing. I need to drive slow.....homie.

They told me the DFGT one is too small :(. Going to try it anyway. Spending £250 on a wheel I don't want to spend another £100 on a slightly different wheelstand

I played the game for just over three hours and I will just sum up my opinions so far on the game as a list of pluses/pros and minuses/cons.

The Good Stuff:
+ Graphics look pretty nice, including the cars
+ Loading times are quick
+ Cars handle well and feel different from each other
+ Couple of decent tunes during game
+ Competent racing...when the A.I. isn't playing bumper cars with you!
+ Sense of speed is superb despite being 30 FPS
+ Game constantly rewards you with new cars and skins

The Not So Good Stuff:
- No replays at all (WTF!)
- No weather at launch (inexcusable given the ten month delay...)
- Pointless, given that there are no replays, and woefully basic character editor
- Lacklustre title music and bland in-game music overall
- Weak crashing effects
- Sterile personality-free presentation
- Game modes seem to be lacking
- Factory and choice of 5 skins, including a Club one, but no option to change car colour (erm, why exactly?)
- Functional but dull career mode
- Deplorably bad A.I. that constantly rams into your car resulting in penalties
- Races lack excitement
- Feels a bit unfinished
- You need to adjust the bloody Display Area Setting in order to get a fullscreen 1080p game otherwise the game runs with a big black border around it.

NOTE TO DEVELOPERS: THIS IS *NOT* WHAT THIS SETTING IS INTENDED FOR AS IT SHOULD BE USED *ONLY* TO REPOSITION THE HUD!!! PLEASE ADD A SCREEN ADJUSTMENT OPTION TO THE GAME ITSELF!

Overall this is a competent game but it really does not stand out in any way from other similar games such GRID Autosport, which this closely resembles. It seems very much geared around social online gaming and, as such, the single player modes feel like an after thought. As the PS4's first exclusive racing game, I can't help but feel disappointed with it from first impressions. It is perhaps unfortunate that this was released one week after the much better (IMO) Forza Horizon 2 because I think I would have been more impressed with the game had it been a launch game for the PS4 as intended.

I will obviously keep playing to check out more cars and tracks, and see if the game hopefully grows on me a bit more.

Well online going pretty smooth for me finished 5 matches. Most races have been pretty clean racing except for me getting put in lobbies with a guy named yonkaso who likes to ram every chance he gets.

Happy coloring.

Then you never did these settings when you setup your PS4 for the first time, it has nothing to do with DC.
