I'm stopping playing this now, absolutely love the driving but I really feel like I'm missing something in the events by not having things like challenges available due to the server issues. I'd only done a few events so I've deleted my progress and will start from the beginning again.

Really enjoyed what I played, it's so much fun and I love the handling model. You can certainly play with the cars but you do have to be careful with what you're doing with them. Looking forward to getting back into it but I am willing to wait until it's up and running properly.

Out of interest, has anybody managed to download the 3 PSN pre-order cars yet? I got the 4th free car that everybody got but still can't do anything with the pre-order cars.

Same here. I managed to get two stars on the second drift challenge but absolutely get the third (haven't even come close really). If anybody has any pointers on these, I'm all ears because obviously I can't figure it out on my own.
The only advice I can give for the drifting challenges is to stay on the outside of the lane when you start your drift, if your are drifting on a right hand turn when you start drifting you have to steer left in the opposite direction and vice versa, when you start to drift off the track tap L2 to slow down a bit to stay on the road. The speed bonuses also help a lot so coming out of a drift clean while maintaiming speed is a big help. Just try to find the best line to hit each turn at, it takes some practise for sure.

Corner penalties are completely fair IMO. The collision penalties seen really arbitrary though. I've drawn penalties for what seemed like routine paint-swapping, and other times I've spun out another driver with no penalty at all.

Nice, I don't see a problem with corner-cutting penalties, but the collisions seem like they need some work.
Same here.. I believe they only need to fine-tune collision penalties so you're not penalized when someone else hits you.

Corner penalties would be fine if they were more consistent, there are some areas that don't have them that probably should, and other areas that are a bit too harsh imo.

yeah, let's remove collision and corner penalties - ruin leaderboards and promote bad driving!

it's the equivalent of not being penalized for suicides and friendly fire in a shooter

I know I've talked about how good the soundtrack is on several occasions...
But god damn, is the soundtrack so, so good.

As for penalties, if they can find a way to discern between collider and collidee for collision penalties, that'd be nice.
Otherwise, they should stay.

Completed all the stars in the Tour mode... I have become legend! :p

Enjoyed what I played even though the AI was a pain at points, that Nowegian Lightweight series took some doing before I managed to get the Ariel Atom round there to get the last 6 points, uploaded the runs here and here. Now hopefully the server stuff will be fixed soon so I can give the challenges and the multiplayer a go...

Maybe there is another solution.
But i have to say i hate getting a corner penalty when another car pushes me off the road.
You could easily give another driver 3 seconds online by just pushing him gently off the road in a corner.

Also, it seems ai cars don't get these penalties. Or am i seeing it wrong?
And do we get penalties when others hit us from behind?

I just did an update to v1.03.

Oh? Will check.

I think the guy misspoke. He just clarified that he was referring to collision penalties. What they need to fix is penalties/deductions for getting hit from behind. And disable corner penalties for a few seconds when you get hit from behind. Beyond that the system works pretty well.

What we expected of Driveclub is nothing to what it expects from us...

I think anyone who plays the game has an issue with the Collison aspect. The problem I find is the cars behind have so much momentum that they just dont slow down enough, the tracks are narrow and the computer literally can't find a way past so they ram you.

If I ram a car from behind or get out of shape and get penalised, I totally accept the penalty but when I get rammed from behind because the other car is carrying too much speed and doesn't slow down, it's unavoidable.

Man I am getting really addicted to this game. It's so much fun. Only been doing single player stuff. The sense of speed is insane, and I like how every car drives and feels very different from each other. I'm not that great at the game, but I like the way they have the 3 stars to achieve and how you don't have to finish first to progress. Just wish the online was working so I can unlock some of those cars.

Just downloaded 1.03, which is supposed to help reduce the load on the servers, along with some other fixes that should reduce game crashes.

That and remove collision pentalties for when people run into you and you are the one who gets your engine to stutter or points deducted. Honestly, I feel point deductions from collisions in general should be removed.

I wonder who is to blame for this? ?_?

Probably doesn't help if you're the only one that has the update.
Yeah think we need more than 1 person for this hah.
