Alright, getting to the point where this is stupid. I want to play the game I spent $50 on online. At least change it so i get fame offline. This is ridic

People who bought the game should get the 1st round of DLC for free.
I just deleted it and will re-download once the core functionality of the mp is actually working. Its been a while since I've been this disappointed in a game.

Did any reviewers dock GTAV for its mess of an online component out of the gate? I cant remember. Is there even heists yet?

If this game was void of a MP component it still deserves more than 50/100 .. SMH.

Reviewers are shooting themselves in the foot this Gen so far, sick of their BS hype with games like COD and destiny where in some instances are just rinse and repeat gameplay.

Some of them are so far off the mark, it's as if their making money from these boring annual monotonous drivel that comes out instead of challenging, interesting concepts.

Nowadays large review outlets are just baseline values, independent reviewers and GAF is where it's at.

Ok, I have to get this off my chest. These corner and collision pentalties need to be removed. Stalling my engine because someone slammed into me is just not right. I don't know about you guys, but it greatly affects me when someone purposely slams into me online. -_-

reviewers no longer represent gamers.

It's a real shame that many can't get their head around the kind of literary criticism we have of theatre, cinema, books and music.

Subjective criticism of these media are part of the experience of those art forms. And in most cases the consumers of those forms of art have got through the stage of bleating just because someone who can write better doesn't like something you do.

Gaming will have grown up when consumers of games are able to understand the concept of subjective criticism of products they are interested in.

I was greatly amused by Tom Chick's deliberate trolling Forza Horizon 2 review. I think that game is excellent. He can barely wait to scrape it from his shoe. But his review made me laugh and kept me entertained for a while and is as valid as any other review despite me disagreeing with almost all of it.

I suggest you emotionally invest in something more important. Products from major corporations tend not to hug back.

For a community/online focused game, do you think that's totally unreasonable? To someone actually using reviews as a purchase recommendation, would you agree that reviews which celebrate the online features which have yet to work properly might be a more jarring issue to audiences?

Did anyone changed the score for Battlefield 4 or Diablo 3?

They should hold off the review until it's fixed. When it's fixed will they put it back up to 78/100 for all those people who haven't bought it yet?

No they shouldn't, reviews especially this early should reflect the state of the game at launch and updated as issues get fixed. Too often reviewers don't do that, leaving reviews that don't reflect the reality of the launched product.

And no, they should not remain silent on issues until they are fixed.

I'd dock this game points for sure right now. Haven't been able to connect at all since the game launched. It's quite annoying.

Is the review thread where we complain the servers and online functionality are still garbage?

I thought progress was beiny made since I managed to get a club going and send invites out but back to no online functionality this morning.

I think the online thing is unfortunate because the pieces are all there for a really great driving game. I don't know about soul or romance but it has wonderful track design and a great handling model.

Diablo 3 which was a total mess at launch, not just the servers but the game was fundamentally broke due to the auction house. That picked up 90/9/5stars across the board on release and was totally dependent on the servers, very few if any reduced their score. Many of the reviews kicked of with things like "It's addictive on a level few games can match, so much so that it's easy to largely overlook its flaws.", the game was broke and never delivered on a few promises.

I can see the collision penalties (I haven't played online yet, though.) But, taking out corner penalties should not happen.

Since the game is being actively marketed and sold to people, I don't understand why you think a review which accurately reflects the state of that product is something people wouldn't want out there.

Did anyone changed the score for Battlefield 4 or Diablo 3?

Those have nothing to do with what I'm pointing out. If a socially-focused game has networking issues over the launch window, I think that should be noted in reviews of it. That would be as true for those as it is here. GribbleGrunger was saying that isn't something "gamers" would want.

Excellent.

Very annoying when your opponents just blow past you near the finish line even when they're not drafting. That's some straight up BS.

They likely came out of the last corner carrying more speed or have a higher top speed. I haven't had any trouble with opponents passing me at the finish. There is one thing, though. I let the computer have a 15 second lead, and was able to catch back up way faster than I should have, or even at all.

Any chance you could grab some video of this? I've seen tons of people make reference to the specific scenario, but I haven't seen it in action. Rushy personally addressed one of my posts that it wasn't something the game could/would do, but people who aren't exactly unreasonable about this stuff have said that it doesn't seem to be the case.

Is this game worth buying right now ?

Online is broken right now, and with how important it is to the game it feels like half the game is missing.

If you want a racing game on PS4 though there's not much other choice. If you have other racing games on other consoles you can play that until someone fixes the mess in this game.

Worse. Reviewers didn't mention any issues and they knew perfectly well about them. As a BF player, I chuckle when I see people writing "5 days and still nothing". Every major EA game has had launch issues, for years, even Titanfall running on those famed cloud Azure servers. Diablo, GTA, those games don't come from small devstudios. It seems that getting online infrastructure to work isn't easy for game companies. Maybe they need to hire more network specialists but those people aren't cheap to get. With online becoming the focus of today's gaming offer, something has to be done or our hobby will soon become much less enjoyable.

Are we sure it's not slip streaming? Cars WILL gather speed when tucked in behind and pull out to overtake. It's normal/happens in real life & you do it yourself probably without realising.

Is grand theft auto demoed and completely sold on its social interaction. Driveclubs main component gas always been it's online

Why I cant turn on the light is beyond me, also when sun in your face, you need a shade.

Yep. And I'm playing on a 32'' one. Going at full speed while not knowing what's up ahead can be thrilling and the handling has been forgiving enough to lend me the patience to memorize the tracks, but in certain Time Trials I've definitely wished the curbs would stand out a bit better.

Or give us the option to turn the headlights on/off.
Glad it's not just me.

Some people have said it specifically wasn't, but that's sort of why I want a video. I mean, rubber-bandy AI is a pet peeve for me, but since the PS+ Edition got held off, I can't say I have a first-hand take on it.

Do you have some overscan setting enabled on your tv? On my Samsung tv, when I set it to Just Scan, then I can fit the maximum possible display area perfectly on the screen.
hmm, yeah I'm on a Samsung as well, I'll check. Thanks.

Edit: you beautiful bastard, I changed the Picture Size in Screen Adjustment from 16:9 to Screen Fit and now it can fit the entire display area.

Thats a fair point. But I do recall a lot of hype for GTAV being created over GTA Online. Other posters have mentioned Diablo and BF4 which are touted as mainly MP experiences which were both broken upon release.

The developers have specifically said that there was no rubberbanding, but I think I saw a later quote that stated that the AI would slow down a bit if you were very far behind. The latter seems true: I've given the AI a big lead so I could do a clean lap without traffic, but I caught up with them easily.

Agreed. It's also unfortunate weather and photo mode didn't make the cut for launch. I feel like these two things will add a heck of a lot to the game, especially weather. DC's implementation of it looks head and shoulders above other racers.

All of the penalties/accolades need adjusting/patching.

- I've had two other cars knock in to each other and I get docked points.
- You can cancel out a vehicle impact by overtaking the vehicle you just slammed in to (initiating 'gained position' accolade).
- You're cutting peoples engine speeds after slamming in to someone on a corner, so you've essentially set them at the perfect speed for the turn?

I'm wonderiing if/when the online stuff is fixed, will I be able to delete my save data and start the tour over? It seems like the only way to get enough points to raise your club level atm.

It's happened to me. I did the Sports Car Performance cup yesterday and that damn Ferrari has a much higher top speed than the Alfa. You really need to pick up a lead in corners in order to ensure you're safe for the long straights. That or just block them accordingly lol.

I feel like blocking will end up being a big strategy for me, lol.

I believe only one review has docked points. Weren't 90 percent of reviews out before the whole server debacle. I'm sure I remember polygon or other sites lowering scores on games due to server issues?

I see no issue with the Vehicle Impact -200, Overtake +500.

Simply put you get +500 for a clean overtake and a net +300 for a unclean one.

Because my car wasn't represented in the game I went out today to buy one that is in the game.

That makes Driveclub a 10/10!

I havent seen what i would consider to be rubberbanding, but i think when you are ahead the other drivers just hit corners better, and are able to drive out of them faster . I dont think the actual cars are doing anything beyond their capabilities/getting spec boosts when behind.

If you are in front you better hit those corners right, i tapped the brake last night in a long sweeper by mistake and on the following stretch of road 3 cars got by me cause i scrubbed just that tiny amount of speed.

Ad some cars are just faster in a straight line, know your enemy :)

You deleted the whole game? And plan to download it all over again?

Why not just leave it to the side of the scroll bar.....and come back to it later? What games do you own that you still play?

Thread's been a little negative over the last few pages so here's something you guys might enjoy, hopefully it'll convince some people who are on the fence too...

Ferrari 458 Italia on 'The Kyle' (Dawn to Day). This car is so fast, sorry about the frantic camera action at the beginning. Was keeping an eye on my ghost.
