Why couldn't she be playable? Damn it.

I feel your pain

Me too :(

I always liked the theory that Battle Network is a "what if Wiley and Light pursued the Internet instead of building Robots" Both Navis and the Megaman robots more or less fill the same hole to help humans, they just do it in different ways, and on a high level scale, the characters are mostly the same as well.

Classic, X, Zero and ZX are all the same universe, just over centuries.

Before today, I kinda assumed 8 player smash was a cut mode. I have now convinced myself it's real, and now i'm really excited.

To be able to have all 6 people in my house play at once is amazing. No taking turns!

So apparently some fool named Ritchie dared to take me up on my Metal Face bet. So i sent him this pm:

So you wanna bet?

You have to buy me a CN game worth 200 coins if Metal Face gets in as a playable character. (And I won't count some playable boss mode either, proper character only. However, him getting in any way counts. From DLC to characters beng unlocked when connecting both systems to any other way.)

I will buy you a CN game worth 200 coins if Metal Face doesn't get in as a playable character. However, I won't buy the CN game and won't lose until someone at Nintendo actually says the words: "This is the last of the DLC for Smash." and Metal Face still isn't in the "last pack."

Well, do you dare take me up on the bet? I will win, i can not lose, the future is not written and I challenge my fate.
*insert more rambling here.*

Do you think he will fully 100% commit to this here bet? If he does, man its a free game! I mean there is no way I can lose...right? RIGHT?!
This is the part where you nod. Chapter 17: The Part Where You Nod. Trophy Unlocked: The Part Where Everyone Nods.

That's bullshit. He first wants you to buy him a game if Metal Face is a playable character but then does a 180° turn and says than "him getting in any way counts" WTF?

Edit: nevermind, I read it wrong.
I say go for it. That Club Nintendo game is basically yours :D

lol, why would anyone take that when you have to wait for Nintendo to declare a final DLC pack? There's a solid chance of that never happening (them explicitly stating that something is the last DLC pack) And if it does happen, it could be years. They might not ever mention DLC (*crosses fingers*). Extending it to DLC characters kinda waters the whole thing down.

Regardless, I think you've lost though. I can't see Metal Face being playable, even if there is DLC. Or am I reading that backwards? You're betting that Metal Face will in fact be playable as a normal character someday?

He's betting Metal Face won't be a playable character.

He'd be a fool to take that bet. Metal Face is definitely not getting in as a playable character. Reyn would get in before Metal Face (unless he's already confirmed as an AT and I didn't know about it).

8 Player smash most likely refers to either an online mode where 4 people from each household can play against each other, or a tag in mode where 4 people play at once, but there's another 4 waiting in the wings.

There's no other way to do it, quite frankly.

I think if Xenoblade had two reps, the second one would certainly be Fiora. Not only because popularity (and moveset potential), but because she was present in the Xenoblade TV ads.

( The commercial, which contains a heavy Xenoblade spoiler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL9-5vbyQjA )

Meh Fiora. She would be the one to get in, but Melia is the best.

Considering Sakurai said Shulk isn't the sort of character that usually gets in Smash, and since Xenoblade is a newer series that's sort of big, but not really, I really doubt the series will get more than 1 rep. Quite possibly not even a second rep in Smash 5 unless X is a FE:A style renaissance of the series.

That's fine. I had to reread it like three times. The confidence suggests the opposite of "I sent him a PM", so it's probably just a mistake.

I am betting that Metal Face will be a playable character through any means like DLC or connecting both systems, but not as a playable boss but real character. We also set a end date that if no announcement is made about Metal Face by 12/31/15 then he wins.

i'M READY

The free space should be Metal Face. ;)

Anywayz: Forgot to post a couplethoughts:

-Glad Temple is back! Live that stage and will be fun in For Fun mode.
-Can't wait to see this Kirby stage.
-I hope there really is a Wrecking Crew stage. Pretty neat game.
-I hope DLC is announced at the Direct and hope the board game is fun to play in sp or has online. Who knows, I didn't think I'd like Smash Run but I do! Hopefully I like this board game.

And what if Metal Face is revealed as a stage boss? What then? Will Alfonzo get in a mech when Metal Face becomes the DLC character you think he'll be?

I'll take you up on the Club Nintendo offer too, provided I get the game if Metal Face is revealed as a stage boss.

There's nothing I'd ever want via Club Nintendo's digital rewards, I just want to see how serious you are about this. I still can't tell if you're joking.

What part of Metal Face is too big are you not understanding? Resizing him would make the actual character as small as a chipmunk compared to Shulk, which wouldn't make sense...

Oh no, I just realized...

What if the Nintendo Direct livestream Smash Bros. thingy ends up showing things we already know about?

Think about it: What exactly does "new" mean? More importantly, what does it mean to Nintendo?

Maybe they're just going to show stuff that's new in the Wii U version, like the Yellow Devil. Sure, we've seen it before, but it's technically new. And this is Nintendo we're talking about.

What? The Yellow Devil is definitely in the 3DS game...

I do think we will know Ridley's situation in this game by friday. Or at least some sort of hint.

If they show off some bosses, and he's conspicuously missing, things will be suspicious. If they show him as a boss, well that's that, maybe Smash 5 will smile on him.

But it's still "new," isn't it?

Consider all the "new" information revealed by Nintendo, basically showing off what we already knew.
And then there's the New Super Mario Bros. series and Yoshi's NEW Island.

Un-Fun Fact: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds was almost called "The New Legend of Zelda."

Yeah, Ridley is going to be shown off Thursday. As a stage boss.

People aren't actually serious about metal face as playable, are they? The hell?

That's like making giga-bowser a playable (non-final smash) character.

Someone is. Putting 200 Coins on the line.
Yep. Which is why Metal Face is a DLC character. ;)

Metal Face? Yes. i don't see whats so hard to understand. He is a character. It is a basically a fact at this point. I refuse to believe a shared stage would be so dramatically different and there doesn't seem to be a boss battle mode so like Dark Pit, the only takeaway is playable character.

So apparently some fool named Ritchie dared to take me up on my Metal Face bet. So i sent him this pm:

Metal Face isn't too big at all! It doesn't matter if he becomes small compared to Shulk. Don't be silly. This is Smash, anything goes.

If Metal Face is revealed as a boss/stage hazard then I'll most likely give the code right then, unless its left open like Ridley was. And why does everyone keep thinking I'm joking? 200 coins is serious business.

Also, not taking the same bet twice. On the very low chance that I'm wrong, I don't want to lose 400 coins.

you're just stretching it out so that nobody will remember by than lmao
I will remember. I don't forget these things. I will pm Ritchie then even if he forgot.

metal face will never be playable........

no seriously wtf

Wolf's moveset needs to go somewhere.

I'm not so sure - Xenoblade's second character, if it ever gets one, will likely be a part of the next game; by then Xenoblade X and possibly another sequel would have been released. Seeing as Fiora probably won't be as prominent in the sequels even if she appears, I'd think her chances aren't all that high.

Metal Face isn't too big at all! It doesn't matter if he becomes small compared to Shulk. Don't be silly. This is Smash, anything goes.

Every single humanoid character in Smash is in proportion. There's no humanoid character that looks hilariously small.

And "anything goes" doesn't apply to size as much as people seem to want it to. It's only ever been the case for Olimar, everyone else is more or less their proper size. And Olimar scales up really well, it's harder to scale down a character that appears next to a human or who actually is a human, or they might look kind of goofy. Looking at Metal Face, he also has Ridley's issues where a lot of his small parts will get lost or look strange being so small.

Alright, you know what, if metal-face is a wolf-sized wolf clone, i'm sold. Gotta go all out with the ridiculous. Landmaster final smash, too. If not that, then Ice climber's final smash.

That and scale is kept pretty relative within franchise. Sure olimar/kirby are inches tall, and they're scaled up, but within the same franchise, things are roughly the same. The only exception I believe, is pokemon, but, like I said, ROUGHLY. It's not like charizard is 30ft tall normally, compared to pikachu's foot or two.
